28/12/2025: Every time I come to Bolzano, Thaler is always a marvel. The beauty of this place captivates you, as do the fragrances. The staff is always kind and helpful, even when I haven't bought anything, they always make me feel welcome. The bar is also wonderful. I haven't been to the restaurant yet, but it will definitely be my next experience. Highly recommended.
07/12/2025: Every time I try to enter, they reiterate that it's a store with assisted sales only if you meet a certain standard, only if you make money thanks to your designer bag. If you're a normal person, they barely pay attention to you, leaving you there waiting despite doing almost nothing. I've rarely found staff who treat all customers the same. The store is beautiful, for goodness' sake, as is the layout, but the service really needs an overhaul.

01/02/2026: I booked a table, but we had to wait half an hour. It can happen, you say. "But ask if we want a drink in the meantime?" The service from the unfriendly owner is overbearing.
30/11/2025: Absolute favorite bar in Gries, staff is helpful, friendly, warm and kind. Coffee is great and don't get me started on the brioches, i love the pistacchio variant! During lunchtime you can also get really wellmade warm dishes, for vegetarians I'd recommend the canederli! Bar Tennis is also great for an apperetivo or some glasses of wine. Total recommendation, the worst part is, that they're closed on sundays.

30/01/2026: Large cold buffet, but microwaveable, with grilled vegetables, not fish. And then there's the pizzeria and restaurant. Elegant and well-kept.

25/02/2026: I had the farmer's sandwich and my colleague had the apple strudel. The food was delicious and the portion was perfect for breakfast 😋
The hot chocolate was also very good, though a little more would have been nice 🤷♂️

20/08/2025: Today, late in the morning, as I entered the store, I asked if I could get a coffee, since other stores also have a coffee shop. The girls at the cash register looked at each other haughtily before answering, as if mocking me and my request, which they must have thought out of place. They were rude; I hope to find courteous and polite staff again in the future.
06/06/2025: Very friendly staff. I stopped by for a coffee, thinking it was a bar with a coffee machine. The coffees are definitely high-quality, as the flavor is particularly good and very classic. I'm not a coffee expert, but it's not bad. Glad I popped in, even if it was by chance. Thanks Nespresso.

28/01/2026: My first experience at this lovely restaurant, just steps from Bolzano's historic center.
A very quiet, almost family-friendly atmosphere...a wide selection of dishes and drinks.
The house pasta Chez Frederich is spectacular!
I'll definitely be back.
I'm sorry I can't give it 5 stars, even though my experience was wonderful, but to ensure a fair review, I also considered the experiences of my friends at the same table.
30/11/2025: Excellent cuisine, prices on the higher end. The portion sizes were rather small for my taste, hence only 4 stars.

25/10/2025: Best place for drinks in Bz, top prices, service, they even bring you canapés galore, family run which is what we like 😉 super and always helpful staff, despite the area on weekends there is security that makes you feel safer

24/02/2026: The meat quality was average-low. The chicken slice in the McKenzie steak completely covered the arugula and wilted cherry tomatoes. The €2 cover charge per person consisted of a "promotional placemat" inviting you to download the app for, among other benefits, a €5 discount on your first purchase. After downloading the app, I checked the cashier, but there was no sign of the €5 voucher. Finally, the price per dish is fair, but I honestly can't justify the €2 cover charge for what's on offer.

Warm (winter) and comfortable rooms.
Some furnishings are missing, but this may be due to the renovations currently underway.
The breakfast was excellent and plentiful.
Friendly management.
