13/07/2025: We had a truly enjoyable stay at Agriturismo ai Castioni. The location is peaceful and surrounded by nature, with easy access to electric car charging, very convenient for travelers like us. Each evening, we were treated to delicious homemade dinners, made with care and local ingredients. The wine selection was a real highlight as well, featuring a variety of bottles from the surrounding area that perfectly complemented the meals. The service throughout our stay was warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly, which made us feel right at home. The only small regret was that we didn’t get one of the rooms with a balcony and lake view because it looked stunning! Still, everything else more than made up for it.

22/06/2025: The service was great, and the 5-course breakfast was a nice surprise. We also liked the wellness area. We were lucky and were able to use two of the four spaces on the day of arrival, which meant we could use the sauna. The older room in the hotel, which we were assigned based on our special offer, was functional. Only the electrical appliances (hairdryer) should be checked for safety. 😅 Otherwise, everything was perfect! The place is quite remote on the mountain. Probably a perfect starting point for hikes. We were mostly in Merano and didn't explore the surrounding area.

20/06/2025: Top hotel and a lifesaver! We were passing through on our motorcycles and had already booked a nearby hotel, but due to circumstances, we had to change hotels. We booked late in the evening on a weekday through Booking.com. We arrived less than half an hour later, and the room was already ready. The kitchen had been cold for over an hour, but we were still served a hot meal upon request (since we probably looked more than exhausted). The room we were given at short notice was modern, well-equipped, and extremely clean. The beds were also very comfortable. The breakfast at the hotel was probably the best we had in our week in Italy; none of us had such a healthy and delicious breakfast in our lives. All in all, a great hotel, super friendly, polite, and guest-oriented staff/operators, and delicious, regional, and healthy food. Thank you again for your hospitality and the extra steps you took for my colleagues and me. If we ever pass by the pass again, we'd definitely be happy to stay again.

27/01/2025: Certamente in questo ristorante hai la certezza matematica di mangiare molto bene e con prodotti freschi e soprattutto a km0. Danilo il proprietario insieme al suo staff tra cui i due figli e la moglie,offre una spontanea simpatia ma soprattutto propone un ricco menù,fatto con un mix di prodotti tipici e tante rivisitazioni di piatti della tradizione. A cominciare dal saluto della cucina,al pane fatto in casa agli antipasti, ricchi di formaggi e salumi della zona . Ottimi i primi piatti sia tipici che non. I secondi piatti sempre di ottima fattura. Il dolce a dire il vero non sempre o quasi mai lo prendo,ma da Danilo so perfettamente che sarebbe un peccato non approfittarne. Una nota di merito i vini, sia che bianchi che rossi. 5 punti meritati.

28/06/2025: We had dinner here a couple of times during our holidays and tried a bit of everything: pasta, pizza, meat dishes and desserts. Everything was really good, even the wines we tried. Beautiful location (both gardens are wonderful and very well-kept) and exceptional service, the guys never lose their smile even when they are full of customers and working under pressure!

27/06/2025: EDIT: Dinner was amazing! I couldn’t decide what to get, so I ordered the pizza (again) and the lasagna- because why not? And OMG, even though I had to take leftovers back to the hotel, it was WORTH IT. Absolutely incredible. Our last night in the village, we ate here again (obviously). This time, I had the schnitzel and let me tell you- it was sooo good! I’m now convinced that everything on the menu is straight-up amaze-balls. Too bad we didn’t stay long enough to confirm it. And the cherry on top? The owners. They treat you like they’ve known you forever- so friendly and down-to-earth. We even stopped in for a drink after a hike with our pup and sat at the bar just soaking in the vibe. It’s the kind of place that feels like home. Welcoming, cozy, and full of good energy. So yeah… stop by and grab yourself a pizza (or three). You won’t be disappointed. :D Original Review: On our first night in the area, we were totally wiped—no energy to go out for dinner. So my husband walked over and grabbed two pizzas for us, and let me tell you… OMG. Hands down the BEST pizza I’ve ever had. And I’ve eaten pizza all across Italy. This one? On a whole other level. Here’s the wild part: I never finish my food. But that night? I tore up the entire pizza. No crust left. No regrets. Just silence and satisfaction. Then, while taking our dog out, my husband casually came back with tiramisu- because apparently he was on a culinary victory lap. One bite and I was in dessert heaven. Needless to say, we couldn’t wait for dinner the next night. We were counting down the minutes to soak in the cozy vibe, chat with the lovely staff, and dive face-first into more of this magic. Highly, highly recommend!!!!

06/07/2025: A wonderful, relaxing stay in a fantastic location We stayed at the hotel above Latsch with an e-bike tour group – an absolutely quiet, idyllic location with stunning views of the South Tyrolean landscape. The hotel itself is beautiful, very well-maintained, and well-equipped. The well-designed underground parking garage, which was perfectly equipped for e-bikes – including charging stations – deserves special mention. Our rooms with a garden view were pleasantly quiet, allowing us to relax wonderfully. The beautiful garden with pool offered just the right respite after our bike rides. The breakfast left nothing to be desired, and the dinner was a real highlight – culinary delights of the highest caliber and sensational quality. Added to that, the very friendly, attentive service and the extremely friendly hosts. We felt completely at home and left feeling completely rested. Highly recommended – we would love to come back!

02/06/2025: A very nice hotel. Both the hosts and the staff fulfill all your wishes. There is a very personal, warm atmosphere. The excellent cuisine, which is on par with that of Michelin-starred chefs, deserves special mention! Robert's excellent cocktails, prepared with great enthusiasm, also deserve a special mention, and they repeatedly drew us to the bar. The spa and sauna also invited us to linger. 13/05/2025: Spring 2025 was the second time for us in this hotel, and it consolidated our opinion of it. Both times we stayed for three days as a short romantic getaway. The hotel is in downtown Schlanders, a 5-minute walk to everything you could need (including the local market), and close to hiking and cycling paths completely surrounded by nature, if you prefer an active and adventorous vacation. The hotel also provides local transportation passes, if you need them. We chose to relax and stayed in the hotel for most of the time, taking advantage of their spa pools and their massage services (shouout to Andrea, very discreet and professional): the have a outdoor cold pool, a medium lukewarm outdoor hydrotherapy pool, another lukewarm upstream indoor pool, a hot hydrotherapy pool, a lounge room, sauna and turkish sauna and such. The rooms are quite standard for the area (but I don't think that's what really matters, because you're still not gonna spend all day in your room): comfortable bedding, essentially tidy, clean and full of natural lighting; the view from some rooms might not be the best (don't expect just mountains), as we're still downtown, but they did their best to ensure privacy and quiet by placing high trees and plants that mask most of the urban scenery from the surrounding area. The first thing that keeps us coming is the (at least bilingual) staff. While being kind and corteous is the general standards for hotels like these, I think they bring it to another level: most of the staff is young and friendly, even up to chat for a while (and maybe recommends local places to go), but still very discreet. Very good service, extreme kindness and willingness are their triumph card. The second thing is, of course, the food. While this should be another high standard for this type of hotels, we know it is not always the case, unfortunately. In this case were geniuinely amazed, not just by the selection, but also at the quality of the food we were served! International breakfast with local cold cuts, cheeses and breads, a variety of yogurts and cereals, juices, and such. While they don't provide lunch (it might not be worth it, considering many guests are probably hiking at that time), there's a small mid-afternoon buffet with fresh fruits and cakes available. While I think it the experience might be improved by adding a salted snacks selection to it, it's still worth it as everything tastes amazing. Dinnertime is where the kitchen displays everything they do best: rich appetizers buffet, cheese and chutney selections, 5-courses well-balanced meals (with vegetarian options). Everything is fresh, with seasonal and, again, local produces, seasoned, cooked and portioned to perfection. The third thing, but this is just due to a personal issue, is the temperature of the water. Many other places have extremely hot water in their pools, and while I get that can be part of the relaxation for some people, for medical reasons, I couldn't use it without getting sick, therefore ruining the rest of my vacation. The water here is just perfect, that even the hottest water doesn't make me sick, so I can actually enjoy the pools. Fair warning, for those who are not used to it: expect nudity in the pool areas. Both times we were there we always felt very welcome, and sent pictures to our family and friends and recommended them to try this place. Honorable mention: we got engaged here (thanks again to the staff, for helping my fiancee setting up the surprise at dinner, and for filming the proposal), and we're considering coming back to this hotel with our best men after the wedding for another relaxing weekend.

20/05/2025: Super kind and helpful staff! We had to cancel the trip to Riva because of unforeseen circumstances and our climbing tour becoming impossible thereafter. Usually hotels just keep the money and are pretty inflexible, but they granted us an exception and we got refunded, which I found so kind and heartwarming. Thank you so much! We will be back for the tour as soon as stars align! ☀️

16/05/2025: I recommend this hotel for its ideal proximity to Riva del Garda town center: just a 5-minute drive 🚗 and about a 20-minute walk 🚶‍♂️. The rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and the bed very comfortable—no complaints there ✅. The breakfast is plentiful, varied, and of good quality 🍽️🥐🍉. However, we were disappointed to find that the swimming pool was not available ❌🏊‍♀️, without having been informed in advance. Furthermore, the reception was clearly lacking in friendliness: on several occasions, our greetings went unanswered 🙁. A big thank you, however, to the housekeepers, who are cheerful and professional and provide impeccable service 👏.

21/06/2025: Great place ... out of style. I really appreciated the friendliness of the service and the excellent cutting board (the mustard was great) accompanied by a truly surprising Bocka di Rosa (amber on tap). The Birramisú was also excellent. Highly recommended.

28/04/2025: Very good hotel in a convenient location to visit Val Pusteria (aka Pustertal). Close to the not to miss sites, such as Tre Cime di Lavaredo (Dreizinnen), Lago di Braies (Pragser Wildsee), Valle Aurina (had rafting there that is very nice). Hotel very clean and comfortable. Cuisine top level, innovative and grounded to local traditions too. Service kind and attentive. Wellness very nice, top level I would say....

21/03/2025: Family-run hotel. We felt absolutely at home and had a great rest. You feel like a welcome guest here. Everyone is very friendly, helpful, and attentive. The food is sensational! Your culinary well-being is taken care of with passion and great attention to detail. The chef deserves a star. The only thing that wasn't ideal for us were the mattresses, which were too soft. But we sleep on futons, so that's not a benchmark. 95% wouldn't be able to cope with our level of firmness. Next time, we'll bring our futon. 😉

15/06/2025: An American diner style restaurant with a good pizza also for takeaway, it has a spacious room with many tables. The menu is rich and tasty and is suitable for both a dinner with friends and a business lunch break. Recommended!

26/06/2025: Fantastic shop with great panini (in the pic the vegetarian panini, not to be confused with the vegetarian bread roll) and great cider!!

24/06/2025: Very nice grocery store in downtown Merano - mostly products from Südtirol. Great selection - has everything that one could really need - huge selection of cheese and cured meats!
