24/07/2026: In the heart of Bressanone, in an ancient 13th-century building, once the residence of the Cathedral canons, stands a historic establishment beloved by Bressanone residents and gourmets alike. In 1743, the premises became an inn, acquired in 1870 by the Mayr family, who still magnificently manage its fortunes. On the ground floor is the bistro and courtyard; upstairs is the gourmet restaurant, spanning the historic rooms and the terrace with its vine-covered pergola. The atmosphere, furnishings, and objects, frozen in the 19th century, represent a fascinating leap into the past, but not the cuisine, solid in its roots yet contemporary in concept and execution. Don't miss the artisanal speck, salted beef, salami, and traditional bread, as well as the pressed canederli with grey cheese. The mezzelune (mezzelune) with rye flour and mountain cheese. The tagliatelle with chanterelles. The roasted shin of pork. A place worth the detour.
