20/02/2026: We had the cheese dumplings with salad from today's special. Absolutely delicious! To round it off, we also had the apple strudel with cream. We would definitely order both again. We'll gladly come back.

03/02/2026: Friendly and helpful staff.... Stunning location on the lakeside. On a negative note: We had two cutlets and fries on the side... ZERO rating €20 each! What a shame...

09/01/2026: Excellent bourguignonne. There was a bit of confusion with the reservation, and we were worried we wouldn't get it due to a mistaken cancellation, but we finally made it. Our only regret was having ordered the appetizer (mixed salami) on the recommendation to pass the extra wait, but it was worth the wait and enjoyed the main course, which was plentiful and we couldn't finish it.

02/04/2026: I've only eaten at this hotel in the evening at their pizzeria. The decor is traditional and consistent. Service is imprecise, but still fast. The pizza is good, the dumplings are nothing special. The quality/price ratio is fair. I don't know if I'd go back.

14/03/2026: We stayed at this hotel for the wellness area. Two hours of total relaxation. A beautiful, practically new wellness center. We were welcomed by Giulia, a very sweet girl, excellent at her job. She pays attention to the smallest details. We had a wonderful time. Highly recommended. Thank you Giulia!!!

03/06/2026: Terrible, from the welcome, to the table setting, the atmosphere, the service, and the food. Nothing special, the pasta seemed pre-cooked and microwaved, but the bill was truly steep for what we received! Highly discouraged.

03/06/2026: Homemade, quality products, friendly and helpful staff. I was in the area without a reservation, but they didn't hesitate to find a table for me. Prices are average and reasonable considering the quality of the ingredients. Recommended

06/06/2026: This very characteristic mountain hut can be reached with a 40-minute uphill walk. The road is unpaved but accessible with strollers. They do not accept debit cards or credit cards in general! The food is traditional and very good.

12/02/2026: What can I say? A truly unique experience! We've known Hermann for a long time and are always blown away by his exceptional and incredibly generous dishes. All the dishes are fantastic! We recommend the Chef's macaroni as a first course, but the other dishes are sublime too. Main courses are superb! The desserts are incredible; you have to try them all! The prices are ridiculously low and the service is incredibly friendly and efficient!

25/02/2026: I don't like writing reviews, but this time I really feel the need. I hope I can be polite and objective enough so that anyone reading can form their own opinion. This morning we stopped by the Steinerhof to book a table for two for dinner. A very kind young woman greeted us and took our reservation. We returned for dinner and were greeted instead by a gentleman, perhaps a waiter, perhaps the owner, who claimed not to speak Italian. In English, I informed him of our reservation and he showed us to a side room. We ordered two bottles of water and a small beer in English. He brought us the water in two glasses. We asked for the bottle of sparkling water, which cost us a hefty €5.20. He also charged us for the glasses of water. We waited a good ten minutes before he brought us the menu, then the waiter disappeared. He reappeared to escort a group of locals who were leaving their table and ignored us. After a quarter of an hour, my husband decides to go to the main dining room, calling the Italian-speaking waiter's attention. He decides to come and take our order, which we still have to communicate in English or German. We order boiled potatoes (lightly cooked) with cheese and three dumplings with cabbage salad. We wait again for about a quarter of an hour, with the dining room completely empty. The picture of the dumplings I've attached to this review probably gives a good idea: completely dry and hard. The experience ends shortly afterward because we decide to go to the cashier to pay the bill ourselves. We had to explicitly ask for the receipt in Italian. This time, it seems the man understood. We won't be returning. Hostile.

12/10/2025: We reached the Malga on foot on a sunny October morning. The view up there is spectacular. The Malga is welcoming and not very crowded at this time of year. We ate very well and peacefully, chatting with the guests and the owners. It was a shame to have to leave the place on the way back. Many compliments to Matteo for his excellent cuisine and his kindness.

14/12/2025: I stumbled upon this wonderful place quite by chance. A unique atmosphere meets fantastic, unobtrusive service and superb food. I had barley soup and venison ragout, and I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant!

02/01/2026: I didn't expect it!!! We had dinner there one evening. I have to say the Indian dishes were fabulous, the chicken was very tender. The staff was very friendly. The tiramisu could be improved a bit, but it was still good.

20/07/2025: A hotel from another era, impeccable service, spotlessly clean, fantastic shower. The owner's kindness (like someone straight out of a Brothers Grimm tale) is embarrassing, and he manages to make you feel at home.

25/10/2025: Best place for drinks in Bz, top prices, service, they even bring you canapés galore, family run which is what we like 😉 super and always helpful staff, despite the area on weekends there is security that makes you feel safer

04/06/2026: We've already been to Waldea (formerly Waldschänke) four times this year and left delighted every time. The quality of the food is consistently excellent. We can wholeheartedly recommend the carpaccio and the dumpling duo – both were delicious and beautifully presented. But what truly makes Waldea special for us is the warm hospitality. The waiters and managers are exceptionally attentive, friendly, and always in good spirits. You feel welcome and well taken care of from the very first moment. We're already looking forward to our next visit and can recommend Waldea to anyone who appreciates good food, a beautiful atmosphere, and genuine South Tyrolean hospitality.

01/06/2026: The location is almost unique. A stunning view over Merano and the surrounding mountains. The food was superb. Excellent South Tyrolean cuisine. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to take a break on the Marlinger Forest Trail. Of course, they also offer coffee and sweets.

22/03/2026: We stumbled upon this restaurant today and had to work our way through the extensive menu. To our surprise, everything was delicious and the prices exceptionally fair. The service was also very attentive. We'll definitely be back.

25/12/2025: I went with my family for lunch on Christmas Day and I have to say the food was very, very good and the staff was absolutely friendly. The service was very fast!

02/06/2026: Manuel Hofer's restaurant combines regional specialties with modern fusion elements, consistently creating new culinary experiences. From the amuse-bouche to dessert, everything is freshly prepared in-house. The food is of exceptional quality, and individual requests were always accommodated. The ambiance is very modern, with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and meadows. Definitely worth a visit!

24/03/2026: We paid €17.50 for two very watery Aperol Spritzes with two glasses of spring water (and three mini flatbreads as a snack)... I find that extremely overpriced! €7.00 for a poorly made Veneziano (lots of water, little sparkling wine, and very little Aperol) and €3.50 for spring water... I'm speechless...
