21/11/2024: A unique experience among the many traditional Italian restaurants, all with good food. They have the best [not traditional Tuscan] bread and they serve it with the best balsamic vinegar we've had in any restaurant ANYWHERE. We've never had a dish we didn't like. Visit with no risk of disappointment. Update one year later: we still come often, but I admit that we often order our same favorite items. Last night changed our future behavior. We were in a mood for something different. We still ordered our standard pasta dish: Pici with Tuscan beef ragu, but then we branched out into the unknown. We started with a baked eggplant with tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. It was life changing. This 5 euro appetizer was the best vegetable dish either of us have ever tasted. I Will try my best to recreate it, and our host was open about some of the critical secrets. We followed with slow roasted pork neck in a wonderful sauce with mashed potatoes and fennel. Every bit as good as the eggplant, but not so unique.

17/10/2024: When we manage to spend a few days relaxing in Sarteano, the Taverna di Merlino has become the obligatory stop for dinner. The dishes are all delicious, everything homemade, including bread (a real delicacy). The kindness and professionalism of the owners are the icing on the cake. Well done guys, the five stars are well deserved.

04/11/2024: Place I WANT TO KNOW... a restaurant of the highest standards in a location that leaves you speechless, the professionalism and kindness of the staff are added value. Super recommended, see you next time.

01/11/2024: We have discovered heaven on earth, everything, and I mean everything was absolutely perfect. This Resturant was recommended by our host at the nearby palazzo Pio, turns out, a pope was born there. A few blocks walk down a narrow ancient street. We entered the courtyard thru a bar. Then up some stairs. We sat at one of five tables and were waited on by two beautiful Italian women. We starred with an assortment of local cheeses with grapes , honey and a wine reduction. The lentil soup was to die for, we had three different dishes of homemade pasta. Local Chianti and home made bread then shared desert. A feast for three, with wine all for 90E. Best dining experience of my entire life!

08/12/2024: Ci siamo fatti consigliare da luciana ..... siamo venuti tra amici a cena per festeggiare il compleanno gentilezza e cortesia hanno fatto dacontornoad un ottimazuppa di ceci , zucca castagne e funghi porcini! grazie e tanti auguri a me

18/11/2024: Posto carino, cibo passabile ma nulla di memorabile. Servizio da migliorare con un'unica cameriera (povera lei) che, nonostante la sala fosse piena, si intratteneva presso alcuni tavoli in minuziose spiegazioni dei piatti. Peccato non l'abbia fatto anche con noi che siamo stati per lungo tempo, fra una portata e l'altra, accuratamente ignorati. Nel complesso, la voglia di tornare non è proprio scattata.

04/07/2024: I went there with my wife for an aperitif, and we had a really good time. The place is very nice even if we preferred to sit in the beautiful square. The dishes were very good and the price was in line with what was consumed.

06/08/2024: Cominciamo con l’accoglienza, Nadia è una perfetta padrona di casa, gentile, sorridente e molto professionale. Gli ambienti, interni ed esterni molto curati ed estremamente puliti. La cucina propone piatti golosissimi con un’attenzione maniacale alla qualità degli ingredienti di comprovata bontà, Felice ha una passione e una creatività fuori del comune. Ieri abbiamo scelto le pizze … tante ed eccellenti, ben lievitate, ricche e digeribilissime ed io ho trovato la pizza perfetta, creata appositamente per gli indecisi che vorrebbero mangiare più cose, è un pizza per metà margherita e per metà calzone, ottima. Il fritto misto che ha preceduto tali bontà era altrettanto perfetto, panatura dorata, croccante e asciutta, fiori di zucca, supplì e olive all’ascolana con diverse farciture. Una particolare attenzione Felice la presta al pomodoro, sappiate che esiste una carta dalla quale poter scegliere il tipo di pomodoro da usare sulla pizza. Nadia e Felice sanno perfettamente cosa occorre per dare completa soddisfazione ai loro ospiti, il loro è un mix vincente. Andate, straconsigliato. Quando si parla di esperienza di gusto …

28/07/2024: Pizza palacio in Sarteano! Great coctails, great primi’s, top local quality ingredients and maaaaany pizza’s hmmmm lovely place, next time I’ll be back for the pizza buffet - very friendly service too, we had a great time here, thank you so much!!

25/08/2024: Location gradevole. Staff particolarmente attento al cliente, simpatico e professionale. Ottime le colazioni e perfetto per un cocktail dopo cena. Consigliato.

07/08/2024: I spent 2 weeks at a hotel near Pasticceria Angeli e Diavoli, and this was a very pleasant place to enjoy afternoon treats. The shade of the trees made it cool enough to sit outside and to feel very comfortable on some very hot days. The employees were extremely friendly and the pastries were fresh and delicious.

22/09/2024: Had lunch here among the olive trees and vineyard. Tasted our own wine and olive oil. The antipasti was so much that it stopped there, but oh what a beautiful place this is!

04/09/2024: Quiet farmhouse in the Siena area. Excellent restaurant. Unfortunately the swimming pool is neglected and not clean.
