30/08/2024: Land-based restaurant offering excellent quality dishes with careful presentation. Truly enchanting location that creates a truly unique atmosphere. Kind and attentive staff. I am removing a star because the initiative holder counted a glass at the bar which was simply a glass with water in which there was some red wine residue. He could simply ask his dining room staff because by his own admission it was not mentioned in the order.

29/08/2024: Very nice place with outdoor tables. Exquisite welcome, great professionalism and kindness of the staff. Very good food with attention to taste and presentation. Interesting wine list and professionalism of the sommelier too. Price not cheap but absolutely justified. I highly recommend it and will definitely go back

24/08/2024: If I could I would give more stars! As soon as you finish dinner, what can I say: Very kind staff, and superlative food, all homemade! ...And you can feel it!...and you can appreciate it! Informal environment but cleanliness and quality at the highest levels, much better than some "starred" places. But let's go back to the food: the pickles, very good, have the flavor of the past, in short, like grandma used to make them! The Maremma tortelloni with ragù...the best of my life, and I have been scouring the Maremma for 60 years. And what can we say about the Cinta Senese steak? A triumph of taste and delicacy, which is very difficult for this specialty, it is so strong in its own right that making it delicate without dulling the flavors is truly masterful. Well done! Location of a trattoria from times gone by, very familiar, beautiful. Very honest account. You leave with a smile, and not just because of the super nice owners. We'll see each other again, many times.

15/08/2024: We ordered a takeaway pizza to sit on the beach, the pizzas were ready in 15 minutes and were super tasty. The owner was very friendly and the prices were great too, absolute recommendation! PS: The spicy salami is spicy, even if he claims the opposite ☺️

09/08/2024: A restaurant that has been frequented for some time now and I have always appreciated the level of service including the precious presence of the reception which offers assistance during the booking phase and entrance to the restaurant without distracting the dining room staff. The dishes based on fish and meat specialties from the Maremma are a delicacy. Another important aspect is that it is a structure organized to serve gluten-free dishes and people with celiac disease can enjoy delicious dishes. Preparation is necessary and I inform you that the restaurant, being inside the castle walls, can only be reached on foot. I recommend comfortable shoes for ladies.

25/08/2024: Very nice, well-kept restaurant in the mountains with a great view of the sea. The meal was excellent. The menu is only in Italian, the service also speaks English.

11/08/2024: Truly ridiculous, low quality pre-cooked bases, poor and non-Italian tomato. Staff with earphones as if they were managing a Zuma room. A big shame because the location is nice but it is not acceptable to sleep badly for a whole night simply because of eating a margherita. It takes so little come on!

09/08/2024: We had always taken take-away pizzas, so we already knew that the pizza was very good but the rest was all a very pleasant surprise, the environment, service and courtesy were impeccable, even the price for what we got was within the norm, actually a little error in the number of drinks we were immediately refunded..... There is no denying that I highly recommend it to all vacationers and non-vacationers....

10/06/2024: Being by the water, we were expecting excellent quality fish but this place is absolutely ridiculously priced! One sea bream cost 30€ because it was ‘local’ according to them.

08/05/2024: Bellissimo il “Nuovo Locale” l’Ozio Bar e pasta fresca, in strada provinciale delle padule 3 a soli 2km di distanza dal precedente negozio.. sempre a Castiglione della Pescaia. Ottima la colazione, il caffè e le torte sempre buonissime!! Possibilità di acquisto e consumazione sul posto della sua “Eccezionale.. Pasta fresca, Tortelli maremmani, sughi e Rosticceria. Le NOVITÀ sono tante.. come il pane e la focaccia di loro produzione e la possibilità di pranzare nella sala interna o esternamente nel dehor con parcheggio gratuito. CONSIGLIATISSIMO!!

28/08/2024: We had the octopus sandwich and the fish and chips sandwich. It was good but a little dry and missing a little something to make it better. But that’s our tastes. Maybe the plates are better. On the other hand, the lady at the counter was really very nice and we were served quickly.

25/07/2024: Dopo tanti anni siamo voluti tornare in questo ristorante ed è stata una bellissima sorpresa!!piatti veramente ottimi tradizionali ed anche un po’ rivisitati con pesce fresco personale di sala tutto giovanissimo e molto preparato!!lbuonissimo il cacciucco e le linguine cotte nell’impepata di cozze!!bravissimi tutti ritorneremo sicuramente!!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

13/08/2024: very clean place, well furnished, not luxurious but in a spartan way. suitable for everyone, parking close and convenient. very kind and well prepared staff, menu of few courses (for me the best. I hate restaurants with 30 courses, usually it is pre-cooked dishes). I recommend booking, the food EXCELLENT, unfortunately the only flaw is the price, clearly due to the high quality of the raw materials. a dinner for two people costs 110 euros (55 euros each). I will definitely go back, if I can afford my opinion, the wine list is too high in my opinion, I would try to bring it to a reasonable price level. Maybe by including local and less labeled wines. I close my review by thanking the staff for their wonderful evening. Soon.

06/08/2024: Inside a tennis club, I wouldn't have said it but it was a wonderful discovery! Fresh food, top presentation, excellent dishes, even if, I allow myself a small suggestion, if they were a little more abundant they would be enjoyed even more. Highly recommended!

27/08/2024: Abbiamo trascorso una settimana a Castiglione e questo é stato il ristorante dell'ultima sera. Superlativo!!!! In un posto di mare saper cucinare il pesce e soprattutto servirlo fresco, viene dato per scontato e in questo ristorante la materia prima é garantita. Vi allego foto che confermano quanto detto 😜

24/08/2024: Abbiamo deciso di andare alla Casa Rossa dopo aver letto molte recensioni positive. Arrivati sul posto abbiamo trovato un locale alquanto mediocre come locazione, allestimento e arredo e abbiamo pensato che la sua fama fosse dovuta ad una cucina schietta ma gustosa, insomma da " trattoria di un tempo" in coerenza con l'aspetto del ristorante. La signora che ci ha accolto è stata molto gentile e cordiale,ma il ragazzo che ci ha poi servito probabilmente era in serata storta. I primi piatti sono effettivamente buoni, in particolare i pici alla salicornia con lupini (...non vongole). Abbiamo poi ordinato delle impepate di cozze. Grave errore! Non so come abbiano fatto, ma le Cozze erano prive di qualunque sapore. Ho avuto la sensazione che siano state bollite in acqua e poi impiattate con una minuscola fetta di limone e,a dispetto del nome, non vi era traccia di pepe. Senza infamia e senza lode la tartare di salmone con avogado. La qualità dei piatti non giustifica i prezzi specie in considerazione del tenore alquanto insignifante del ristorante. Insomma la valutazione complessiva non supera la mediocrità.
