19/07/2024: The climb to the hut is strenuous for inexperienced people, you should plan about 3 hours here, the incredible views on the way and at the hut are unbelievable. The staff is super friendly, the Kaiserschmarn and the beer are highly recommended. The dumpling soup was simply great.

15/07/2024: We stopped here last week literally to seek refuge from a storm with rain and strong winds. The place is tiny, just a few tables and thankfully our group of 7 got one. The food was excellent, the staff super helpful. Very isolated and off the grid, but if you are hiking in the area and need refreshmnet, definitely stop! Take a look at the menu to learn the story and see the pictures of how they are supplied. Why don't we have these places in the States?

17/10/2024: The view used to be better without a fence. The wine is very tasty and worth it.

13/10/2024: Nice view, small menu but nice. Everything new, friendly and very clean. Gladly again. Suitable stop for hikers.

09/11/2024: Family-run restaurant in a fantastic setting with a clear view of 🏰 Tyrol Castle from the sun terrace. Beautiful, very cozy guest rooms with wonderful, traditional wooden paneling. Good selection of South Tyrolean dishes, such as dumplings, apple pancakes, but also home-style cuisine, such as goulash, etc., all freshly prepared and of the best quality. I chose the “Three Cheese Dumplings with Salad” from the daily recommendation and was absolutely thrilled! 😋 Unfortunately, I completely forgot to take the usual snapshot to show in public. 😥 Extremely polite and courteous staff who, despite all the routine, even find a few nice words for strangers. You feel really welcome. Toilets are new and absolutely clean, so very happy ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!

31/10/2024: You sit in a sunny, panoramic garden, directly above the hiking trail leading up from the Partschins waterfall. The service is very friendly and quick. The traditional South Tyrolean dishes taste excellent and are reasonably priced. The cheese dumplings, for example, are very soft.

22/10/2024: A great place to stop for a break on the hiking tour from Partschins to the Partschins waterfall. A very nice service and a great price-performance ratio!

We took beautiful walks, on the advice of the owners who showed us what we could do. Then in the evening we relaxed in your wellness center. Definitely coming back to visit you. See you soon.

31/10/2024: We stopped here after a hike from Levico Terme. We received a very friendly welcome and the service was very attentive. We urgently needed to fortify ourselves and ordered a bacon and cheese platter followed by a pear strudel. The food was extremely tasty and of high quality. It was just a pleasure to enjoy this meal and be kissed by the sun. We'll definitely be back!

10/12/2024: Unacceptable rudeness and arrogance: never again! I am writing this review sitting in another restaurant. Three weeks ago I made a reservation at the Mainardo restaurant in Merano for 4 people, accepting the 7pm shift rule without any problems, which required the table to be freed by 8.45pm. Last week I updated the reservation for 8 people: the girl on the phone, kind and helpful, assured me that there would be no problems, even if we arrived a few minutes late. This evening, after arriving from 300 km away, we show up punctually at 7.35pm. I send my wife and daughters ahead, along with a friend's wife and her daughters, while the friend and I park. A few minutes later we find them on the street, confused and mortified: they had just been rudely kicked out by the owner, an unpleasant and rude person, who claimed to have given the table away, treating them with arrogance and without any respect. I find this behavior scandalous and unacceptable. If you are unable to honor a reservation or treat customers politely, perhaps it would be better to close the restaurant or hand the management over to someone more competent. The owner, with her aggressive and disrespectful attitude, not only ruined the evening, but also demonstrated a total lack of professionalism. I deeply respect other people's work and this is probably one of the first negative reviews I've written in my life, but I can't ignore such a level of rudeness and arrogance. Mainardo? Never again!

06/12/2024: Very high quality/price ratio! Friendly service, with timely suggestions on food and drink to go with it. Fantastic spinach and cheese crescents, goat's cheese, honey and walnut pie that is truly worth it! Considering the prices in the area and the quality of the service offered, I put the Mainardo restaurant at the top of my recommendations!

05/12/2024: The restaurant is quaint and welcoming, with friendly and helpful service. The wiener I ate is one of the best I've ever tasted: tasty and plentiful. Too bad, however, for the side dish potatoes: with an amazing flavour, but really too small in quantity. I would have preferred a larger portion of potatoes at the cost of having a slightly smaller wiener. Also very good for takeaway!

31/07/2024: Don't be scared by the narrow road to go, the place is really nice. There are 4 of us and we had 1 plate of snails (14 euros), 1 plate of salmon carpaccio, 1 plate of mixed cheeses and cured meats as a starter. Very delicate risotto with chanterelles, 1 cut, 1 steak, char. Total price around 200 euros with grappa and 1 dessert.
