31/07/2024: Returned after great experience last year. You think you’re going inside but the restaurant has no roof! Decor is fun, husband and wife team doing a great job, food, service, ambience and value all excellent
22/07/2024: Loved this quirky spot for casual dining and cocktails. An inside/outside restaurant in a relaxed atmosphere surround by colorful decorations and trees. Pasta dishes were very tasty!
On another day, we were greeted by a staff/family member playing the piano, which added to the overall atmosphere of the place.

02/09/2024: We took 4 pizzas, one of which was gluten-free, all excellent, well seasoned, well presented. Quality raw materials. Quick and courteous service. Welcoming environment, behind the cathedral of Taormina.
Highly recommended.

27/08/2024: Not great and underwhelming. Wife had a mushroom and spaghetti main that was quite greasy and not tasty. I had a mixed seafood main where there was little or no mussel meat, clams were Less than 2cm each and 90% closed and 1x king prawn with little taste (most likely old). Bit of a tourist trap I felt and much better resturants around the back streets.

14/08/2024: Le cadre est majestueux mais le restaurant est vraiment hors de prix par rapport aux plats commandés. Le prix pour 2 personnes correspond à une table 1 étoile Michelin en France et on en est très loin. Nous avons pris une friture de poissons péchés du jour avec une sauce tartare et vraiment rien d'exceptionnel. Nous avons bien mieux mangé dans des petits restaurants sans prétention.
Mention spéciale par contre pour les desserts qui sont délicieux !
L'environnement reste magique !

Personnel gentil et attentionné.
Prix parisien mais honnêtement, le restaurant vaut le détour.

15/08/2024: Superlativo. Siamo arrivati senza prenotazione il 13 agosto a cena e si sono fatti in quattro per trovarci un tavolo senza dover attendere.
Pesce squisito: materia prima freschissima e di qualità cucinata in modo sofisticato ma delicato. Non avevamo mai mangiato un carpaccio di tonno con mozzarella di bufala; eravamo curiosi ma scettici, ma è uno dei piatti più buoni che abbiamo mai provato.
Anche misto di pesce gratinato e spaghetti con i gamberi rossi di Mazara superlativi. Porzioni abbondanti.

Un bon service, les plats choisis étaient bons à part le mien qui était super super salé avec 3 morceaux de poissons tout petits et trois crevettes!! Donc j’ai été très déçue vu le prix!
Ma fille et mon mari ont, quant à eux, bien mangé!
Je suis donc mitigée.

21/08/2024: Antipasto con cozze decisamente micro, parmigiana di pesce molto buona, polpo rivedibile. Spaghetto con pesto di pistacchi e gamberi decisamente male, personalmente presenza di panna e soprattutto un pesto di pistacchio lontano dalla ricetta siciliana, il colore ed il gusto lo rendevano evidente, il gambero era all’interno della salsa, le aspettative erano anche di vedere i gamberi con un impiattamento differente. Diciamo che per 25 € vanno bene per gli inglesi, non per italiani che risultano avere esigenze diverse. Attenzione ne avrei spesi anche 30€ ma caspita un po’ di attenzione!
13/08/2024: Eravamo alla ricerca di un buon ristorante di pesce, cercando di evitare la ressa agostana e i locali per turisti (di bassa qualità). La nostra prima scelta era chiusa, così siamo finiti per caso qui. Appena sotto il comune, in un vicoletto stretto. Piatti curati, buoni e concreti. Ottimo il crudo di pesce così come i primi. Stupiti dal giardino interno e la sua tranquillità, siamo tornati una seconda volta. Il filetto di spigola con mollica e mandorle e caponatina a parte è qualcosa stellare. Ottimi anche gli spaghetti con pesto di pistacchi e gamberi...Servizio rapido, camerieri molto accoglienti. L'interno è anche più bello del giardino, ma visto il periodo, abbiamo preferito l'esterno...Lo abbiamo già consigliato ad amici, una perla a Taormina!

02/08/2024: The meal and service here was of a 1-star quality. We went with the fish tasting menu and a wine paring for an early seating in the evening.
Overall the food was lovely along with an appropriate paired wine service.

Un ristorante stellato che merita un encomio per la disponibilità dello chef e dello staff tutto.
Sapori perfettamente accostati , materie prime fresche , sapori tradizionali rivisitati.

19/08/2024: We were seated at a table and then no one even looked at us for a while. A table left with a better view so once it was cleared and they didn’t put a ‘reserved’ sign down, we waved a waiter down to ask if we can move to it and then order. They said we can’t move, it’s not possible. I said well we haven’t ordered anything yet. They said no.
We then walked out. Bizarre vibe/weird atmosphere. Wouldn’t recommend. Could be a tourist trap.
17/08/2024: Stay away from this place as is a Tourist's Trap. I felt like a pot of money to them, not a person. Food is just like any other pizzeria, prices are 5 times more. There are a lot of non-written rules, that you are only told after sitting down. You need to order enough for them to say it's enough, if you order food that doesn't meet how much they think you need to spend, they force you to order more dishes, even if you don't feel that hungry, as it's "their rule".

29/07/2024: Sat down to have a sandwich want to wash my hand the waiter said they don’t have sandwiches so I got up to leave the waiter said that I have to pay two euro because I use the washroom and wash my hands and at the end I said OK no problem he charged me three euros was extremely impolite. I do not recommend this place at all.

13/07/2024: Nice view, but overpriced. Charging 12 euros service fee for serving beer and water to four persons, that's not worth the view. A small portion of chips and peanuts came with the drinks, though. Nice and friendly staff.

16/08/2024: Bar/ice cream shop in a very strategic position, it is located a few meters after the shuttle stop that leaves from Park Lumbi.
We had a coffee in the morning and it seemed decent..
In the afternoon we had a snack with a peach granita and croissants, which surprised us! Very good, tasty but not particularly sweet and the perfect brioche.
I wasn't crazy about the environment, I would work on cleaning, especially the toilets!

09/07/2024: My husband and I went to Otto during our honeymoon in Taormina. To give you insight our reservation was at 8:00pm when we first arrived we waited over 40 minutes for our drinks- which were a Negroni and a gin martini. They accidentally brought a gin & tonic instead of a gin martini however brought it back to the kitchen to bring us the correct drink. the martini didn’t come until 8:55pm which was also when we were first served the bread course. The waiters are very nice at this restaurant and explained the bar was busy however it is truly unacceptable to wait this long just for drinks especially considering this is a Michelin star restaurant. We didn’t receive our first course until 9:15 pm which at that point we were very hungry. The wait staff were very nice however the service could have been better for a Michelin star restaurant. The food was great and fresh however there were significant gaps of time in between courses. Given its Michelin star I was expecting a certain caliber of service and that was just not met. Perhaps there should be more communication between kitchen /bar and wait staff to help prevent the delays in service.
20/06/2024: Occasionally in life you have the good fortune of experiencing something amazing- our dinning experience at Otto Geleng at Hotel Timeo was one of these experiences - simply stunning!
My wife and I decided to have drinks in the cocktail bar prior this is the start of the jaw dropping views - beautifully manicured gardens are at the forefront whilst Mount Etna provides a magnificent backdrop. After enjoying a few magical drinks we were guided to the dinning area of Otto Geleng. We were there to celebrate my birthday and seriously the view that greeted us was the best present. The joy of the evening kept on giving - the staff, the food, wine and of course the view will be something that will be remembered for years to come.
Thank you to all at Hotel Timeo and if by chance you are ever in Taormina do yourself a favour and get along to Otto Geleng to experience a truly magical dinning experience.
