14/12/2025: We ordered two Negronis, which were listed at €5 each on the menu, and a bowl of Ascoli olives listed at €3. Despite this, the final bill was €22, with a €9 difference that we couldn't figure out where it came from. The only thing we hadn't specifically ordered were some rather old chips brought with our drinks, which perhaps were charged without any communication. The overall experience wasn't a positive one: the place, despite it being a Saturday night, was completely empty, and much of the food listed on the menu was no longer available, except for the fried food. Furthermore, when we entered, there was a strong smell of cigarettes, meaning someone had been smoking in the dining room. All things considered, I wouldn't recommend this place.

11/01/2026: Disappointing place. The ambiance is poorly maintained, especially the exterior. The food is mediocre, with dishes cooked with low-quality ingredients. The appetizer of cured meats and cheeses was paltry. Two pieces of prosciutto, two of coppa, two of mortadella, and two tiny pieces of cheese. 12 euros. The next evening at another restaurant for the same price, they brought us double the amount. Prices are high for the quality. My overall rating is two stars because the waiter seemed competent and friendly. The rest is one star.

04/01/2026: We had a very good pasta meal here while passing through. Attentive staff, inviting atmosphere in winter.

20/10/2025: An experience not to be repeated...we waited an hour and a half for a plate of penne with tomato sauce and a chicken breast...and the place was practically empty. As soon as we'd eaten our dish, we, like the other three diners, went to pay without even getting our coffee!

04/01/2026: If you're looking for a modern and trendy place, Il Saracino is definitely not for you. However, if you want to dive into the past in a 1970s-style working-class atmosphere, this is the place for you. It seats less than 50 people, and is structured more like a bar than a restaurant. The food is standard, probably more suitable for a business lunch. The atmosphere is very family-friendly.

23/12/2025: Il Saracino is a welcoming and elegant restaurant, perfect for a pleasant dinner. Traditional dishes are well-prepared and flavorful, made with fresh ingredients. Friendly staff and attentive service. Excellent value, highly recommended!

02/04/2025: Wonderful. New management, new name: CONTRASTI: molecular kitchen. The owner or chef Christian was very attentive, and everything was delicious, a fantastic bread and all food.! I would like to go back to try the tasting menu!

24/03/2025: Non posso fare una recensione sul cibo, però posso dire che sono stati veramente scortesi, perchè dopo aver telefonato più volte per confermare prenotazione inviato messaggi, arrivati davanti al ristorante di sabato sera alle 20:00 ristorante chiuso, ci possono essere milioni di motivi per tenere chiuso, ma obbligo avvertire le persone con la prenotazione, comportamento non accettabile, senza alcun rispetto.

14/12/2025: I wasn't familiar with this place, but it turned out to be a wonderful discovery! They pay great attention to the food, which is essential for me as a celiac. Excellent pizza, delicious tartare, and the dessert was amazing! A truly inclusive place, we'll see you again soon!

05/10/2025: A nice restaurant, with kind but slow staff. It needs improvement. The dishes, considering the price paid, weren't abundant.

01/10/2025: Pici all'aglione, peposo with polenta, and grape and walnut cake. Amazing!!! Everything homemade, served with kindness and courtesy, and a more than reasonable price (€49 for two). Highly recommended!

19/10/2025: This was our first meal here. NEVER AGAIN! Extremely slow service. Poor appetizer. Pasta too al dente. Meat nothing special. For a starter menu, the main course is €35. Appetizer and first course are €25. We all woke up hungry. Now we know where NOT to eat in San Gimignano.

02/08/2025: For the quality of the sliced meat, I would give it 6 stars going to the checkout, but I can't understand how a green salad can cost 9 euros when a sliced meat costs 18. I repeat, the sliced meat deserved 23 euros too... so it would be more correct to then apply €4 for the salad.

03/01/2026: The atmosphere was simple but welcoming, with typical home-style cooking. The owner was very kind, even shortening our wait with some excellent fries that were apparently free. We had the pizza, which was good, average for the area. The house wine, served in a carafe at a seemingly reasonable price, was much appreciated. Everything would have been delicious even if it had been homemade. Unfortunately, when we checked back after leaving, we realized that the owner, hopefully in good faith, had increased the price of each pizza to almost €9 each, when the menu stated €6.

03/01/2026: Tonight I felt like eating something, so I looked up the nearest place on Maps and made a reservation. There were four of us, and we all ordered pizza. A Margherita, a sausage, and two with spicy salami. To drink, two Cokes and a 66cl bottle of Moretti beer. We spent €53 and the pizzas were inedible. The waitress was even annoyed that we were there. We'll never return. Dear owner, we ate the pizzas so as not to waste the food. We didn't like them.
