The service was particularly noteworthy: extremely flexible, attentive, and proactive, without being intrusive. We felt completely at ease. The restaurant's ambiance is also very pleasant – stylish, relaxed, and just right for enjoying a lovely evening. Overall, a definite recommendation – we will gladly return!

The kindness, helpfulness, and professionalism of the staff make this a place where you can fully enjoy the food and the ambiance. Not many seats inside and few outside (season permitting). Reservations are recommended.

26/04/2026: On the beautiful island of Ortigia, we had a very delicious and high-quality lunch. I ordered a Diavola pizza, and my husband chose a four-cheese pizza. As expected in Catania and the surrounding areas, the quality of the ingredients was excellent. The pizza dough was baked perfectly neither burnt nor undercooked, just right. It could have been even better with a bit more tomato sauce, so the tangy flavor would spread more evenly across the crust. As for my husband’s pizza, it was flawless. Honestly, I could easily give this meal a perfect score, but to be fair, there’s always room for improvement. So my rating is 4.5 out of 5.☺️❤️ The staff were very kind, polite, and highly professional.🙏❤️ One small note: if you’d like to leave a tip, it can only be given in cash and cannot be added to the bill. There is absolutely no obligation to tip just something to be aware of. Wishing you continued success and great quality🥰☺️

The restrooms are clean, although not overly large. The fish caponata is truly exquisite, as are the paccheri allo scoglio, with fresh cherry tomatoes. Overall, the prices are fair for the quality of the dishes.

29/05/2026: We had dinner this evening at La Trota, and overall, the experience was excellent. Starting with the food, both my girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed the tagliolini and carbonara. We also had the opportunity to try three appetizers (bruschetta with dried and grated trout, trout carpaccio, and hot-smoked trout with mayonnaise). The appetizers were excellent. The gin and juniper-marinated carpaccio is highly recommended. We finished with trout in Saor, which was slightly too salty (personal opinion), but the combination of trout, onion, raisins, and pine nuts really impressed me. The dessert was also good, as was the carob and persimmon combination. The location is charming; you eat in a cave. A special thanks to Corrado for his kindness and exceptional attention to service, and, of course, for the appetizer samples. Unfortunately, we live quite far away, but we'll try to return. Considering the quality of the ingredients and the sophisticated pairings, the price for dinner was very fair.

07/12/2025: PortoMatto in Avola was a delightful discovery. I ordered a first course, a truly delicious risotto: well-creamed, flavorful, but never heavy. The restaurant is elegant, with attention to detail, and the background music is not too loud and very pleasant, allowing for a peaceful conversation. Special praise goes to the table service: professional, attentive, but never intrusive. I'd especially like to highlight the kindness and empathy of the waiter, Giovanni, who really worked hard to find a solution for my wife's particularly restricted diet, trying to accommodate her in every way possible. In the end, she didn't order anything, but his face showed genuine disappointment, a sign of genuine care for the customer. Overall, a very positive experience: highly recommended.

Everything was delicious, from the pesto used to season the sun-dried tomatoes to the egg pasta...not to mention the pasta dishes, the meat, and the desserts! A fair price, which put the icing on the cake for a PERFECT lunch break! Congratulations to the entire staff.
