17/05/2025: Pizza is a food that I eat only once a week, but since I came to Italy, I ate countless pizzas for two weeks until I got sick of them. I started with the somewhat unfamiliar name of spicione. Spicione refers to sponge pizza, and it is an Italian name for the dough that is fluffy and thick like a sponge. It is not round but square-shaped, and it is characterized by its appearance similar to pizza bread. I arrived at a bakery slightly outside of downtown Palermo to eat spicione. I originally thought it was a pizza place, but it was a bakery that sold pizza, and it was busy with locals buying bread until late at night. You can choose other breads from the display case, and for pizza, there is a menu attached, so you can refer to it and order. When you order, they cut the pizza baked in a huge mold and heat it up once. The price for the two signature pizzas, spicione and Siciliana, and two bottles of beer was less than 10 euros. I was surprised at the cost-effectiveness and was impressed by the friendly staff. As I mentioned earlier, the pizza is square and cut into 8 pieces so that you can eat it one by one. The edges are baked crispy, similar to Detroit pizza, and the dough is focaccia, which is probably not Italian. As the name suggests, Siciliana contains ingredients from Sicily. Instead of tomato paste, it is topped with a lot of herbs, finely chopped cherry tomatoes, caccicavallo cheese, anchovies, and onions. Since the dough is thick, the taste of the ingredients should be absorbed into the dough, but the texture of the dough was moist as if it was soaked in water, so it wasn't like that at all. The savory taste of the cheese, anchovies, and onions were also well-infused into the dough. The spiciness of the spiciness was much heavier than that of the Siciliana because it was based on tomato paste. The ingredients felt like they had completely soaked into the dough, and the saltier taste went well with beer.​ Personally, I don't think that Spinchione surpasses Neapolitan pizza because my taste for pizza is so strong. However, it was definitely delicious, and considering the price, I want to eat it more often than Neapolitan pizza.

17/05/2025: While waiting for the afternoon opening of my travel and life companion's art group show, we stopped at this place near the Statue of Liberty, which is much more than just a bakery: it also includes a bar and a restaurant. We were in a hurry, but we couldn't resist tasting some excellent anelletti al forno and an irresistible sfincione palermitano. We finished with an excellent coffee, in a pleasant and original location. If you have more time, it's really worth stopping calmly and enjoying everything.

20/05/2025: Last night my boyfriend and I went to this restaurant. What can I say, we were enchanted by the beauty of the place and amazed by the goodness and quality of the food. Everything was excellent, I would only increase the portions of the fish appetizers. Fast service and super friendly staff.

30/03/2025: We came in for a dinner in the evening, but it turned out to be more. We had a real hospitable spirit. The owner, Salvatore, speaks good English and is very direct. When he found out where we came from, he played the national anthem. He came over to talk several times. And by the way, the food was also brilliant. I recommend it to everyone!

11/05/2025: In April 2025, with my family, I had dinner at the "Antico Baglio" Pizzeria Restaurant in Castelbuono. Very nice place, large, tastefully furnished. We focused on the pizzas and chose three different flavours: sfincionella (toasted breadcrumbs, caciocavallo, anchovies and tomato and onion) excellent, inebriating aroma, well-leavened dough, good cooking, Napoli pizza and gourmet pizza (Madonna mozzarella, Nebrodi pork loin, potatoes and ferla mushrooms). All excellent. Friendly staff, good service. Honest prices. Advised

Dining room is cute, staff is kind, and the food is worth traveling for. The portions are generous and im sure theres not a bad item on the menu. So much delicuous love in this food.

La Fenice is the pizzeria I've always been looking for!!! Super seasoned pizza and not with the usual 4 sad things scattered around! Good quality of products. Short waiting times. The staff is welcoming and kind, they periodically worry about whether everything is to your satisfaction. This made us feel welcomed and pampered, small attentions that were not at all obvious. Absolutely affordable prices! The pizzas are around an average of €7-8 up to €15 for the "specials".

The place is cared for down to the smallest details, with an intimate and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel at home right away. The decor is elegant but simple, with light tones and floral details that make the environment relaxing and pleasant. The service was impeccable: the staff is extremely kind, attentive and helpful, capable of making every customer feel pampered and welcomed. Moving on to the food, every dish was a delight! We started with a hot mixed appetizer: croquettes, panelle, chips perfectly golden and tasty. The pizza with salmon, buffalo mozzarella and Greek yogurt was simply exceptional: soft and well-cooked dough, very fresh ingredients and well-balanced flavors. Highly recommended for both a romantic dinner and a quiet evening with friends or family. We will definitely be back!

14/05/2025: Yesterday evening, accompanied by a friend, I went for the first time to this bistro in the center of Palermo. The place is sober with wooden tables of excellent size and well spaced from each other. The jazz music in the background accompanies without disturbing. We started with a mixed fried squid and baby squid, followed by spaghetti with sea urchins, certainly the best I have ever tasted. All accompanied by a good "Feudo Arancio" grill. A special note goes to the waitress who pampered us throughout the service with impeccable professionalism and friendliness. When I return to Palermo it will certainly be an essential stop. Highly recommended.

27/05/2025: Vi este restaurante mientras caminaba por Cefalú. Está fuera de la calle principal, pero es fácil de encontrar, ya que hay señales que conducen al restaurante. Fui por el Busiate alla Trapense que era bastante promedio, un poco demasiado acuoso. Todo el personal era amable. Los precios eran justos. Muchas opciones para vegetarianos y consumidores de carne por igual.
