19/11/2025: Superb, incredibly fresh fish. The tuna with onion and almonds... I still dream about it... Impeccable service, courtesy, and helpfulness.... A place with attention to every detail.... I would return 1,000 times over.

10/11/2025: Everything was very good. Fresh fish!!! The tuna steak was nothing short of exceptional. But even just for a pizza night, it's worth it. We tried the Podolica, which was delicious. We'll definitely be back.

13/09/2025: Una delle pizzerie più buone di Vico. In tanti anni che la frequenti mai una delusione, anzi, si supera volta per volta. La mia pizza preferita è tonno e cipolla, aggiungendo capperi e acciughe. Talmente buona che lascio sempre il piatto pulito. Poi c'è da dire che l'impasto non gonfia, e si può dormire tranquillamente la notte.

30/11/2025: Located in Bari Vecchia, opposite the Swabian Castle, and run by two young and energetic people, it offers excellent breakfast croissants and quick but tasty options for a quick lunch. One tip: if it's cool or raining, it's best to eat inside at the counter (for breakfast).

15/09/2025: You decide to eat pizza on a late summer evening at a place described as well-known and renowned. Sitting down at the table, after a short wait for our order, even though the dining room wasn't full, the kind waitress comes to ask us what we'd chosen. The appetizers were fine, but things suddenly took a turn for the worse when, when choosing pizzas, we were informed that due to the restaurant closing for the end of the season the following day, it wasn't possible to choose two identical pizzas because the ingredients (such as anchovies in oil) for the toppings were missing, or fresh mozzarella wasn't available for another type of pizza, so someone had to choose something else. One pizza per type, in short. When it came to drinks, the same situation was repeated: beer was almost sold out, and the waitress told us we could only choose one of two brands. White wines were completely sold out, and rosés had only a couple of bottles left, which we had to check because other tables were also taking orders. The specialty pizzas, despite their far from moderate price, were of a quality and texture that truly reflected the feeling of tiredness that pervaded the restaurant at the end of the season, along with the embarrassment of the waitress forced to inform us of the shortages. Not satisfied, but thankfully, it was now the end of dinner. When we asked for two gin and tonics and then two more, we were told that the tonic was out and therefore it was impossible to order the second two. Now, I might have been reasonable if what was no longer on the shopping list had been perishable in the very short term, but we're talking about canned goods and drinks, which notoriously don't expire within three or four days. I don't think it's professional to accommodate a group of people if you can't accommodate their most basic requests, nor even get to the end of the season completely empty. They could have chosen to close early and not have to dictate the menu to their guests by taking inventory of the available items.

25/10/2025: I've been a customer at Lira Pizzeria for quite some time and have always appreciated the quality of their product. However, lately, I've noticed a constant frequency of errors in the execution of my orders. The first time, I asked for a pizza with a whole-grain dough, zucchini, and potatoes. They brought me a pizza with lots of mozzarella, nonexistent zucchini, and tons of French fries. In the city, the potatoes are boiled, put in a vegetarian version. Given the misunderstanding, I overlooked it and made another mistake on my second visit: I asked for an ortolana pizza and was given a strange pizza with tomatoes, artichokes in vinegar, zucchini, black olives, peppers, etc.—all vegetables that create acidity. Despite my repeated reports to the pizza chef, the situation hasn't improved. Unfortunately, for those like me who have specific and delicate dietary needs (related to eating disorders and ongoing treatments), the error isn't just a simple mix-up, but poses a risk and prevents me from consuming the pizza. So, no, I paid twice for two pizzas without being able to eat them, and in response, I was even contradicted. He didn't mention that while he was writing the orders, a man behind me was serving at the same time. I find this all very excessive.

05/10/2025: The pizza was excellent, thin and made with excellent ingredients. The staff was very friendly and the service was quick even though it was Saturday and the place was packed.

10/12/2025: It has the great merit of being, I believe, the only pizzeria in Otranto open in the winter. The others, even if they appear open on Google, are actually closed. The pizzas are good and the prices are more than fair.

21/09/2025: A place to feel good – highly recommended I spent a few days at La Giara Risto Relais and can highly recommend my stay. As a single woman traveling alone, it was especially important to me to feel safe and well looked after – and that was exactly the case here from the very first minute. The room was exceptionally clean, tastefully furnished, and meticulously maintained down to the last detail. I also really liked the quiet, somewhat secluded location. Parking was available right next to the rooms. What made the stay special was the warmth of the hosts. The Italian mentality – open, warm, and familiar – was palpable at all times. I felt welcome, safe, and completely at home in every way. If you're looking for clean, quiet accommodations with genuine Italian hospitality, this is the place for you. I would love to come back.
