23/06/2024: 1 star is a gift! Timing doesn't exist, if you want to spend an evening without sitting down it's the right place, if I managed to eat I would give 5 stars but I wasn't able to do even that and then 2.

09/06/2024: Environment with a wonderful view but I'm sorry to say that the unprofessional staff didn't even half smile! And not very available... and we ordered some pizzas which were under-leavened and very raw!!! Beyond that... they only use water derived from the "frizzi" purifier, as they call it, in returnable light water bottles without caps and seals... we requested a sealed bottle but nothing. I would come again just to enjoy the view! 😵🌞

27/07/2024: Excellent place, very kind and helpful owner. Excellent dishes and generous portions. He paired us with his excellent wines Varied menu of both land and sea You can immediately see that everything is fresh. Quiet, welcoming place accompanied by background music I was there with my wife, in-laws and brothers-in-law and we all enjoyed it. To return and I recommend everyone to stop for both lunch and dinner. Fast service in serving but at the same time it doesn't rush you into eating. The price is excellent, in fact for the abundant dishes including the wine it is super honest.

In totale abbiamo preso soute di cozze, per 8€ una vasca di cozze buonissime (sughetto tuttavia migliorabile) , orecchiette con polpettone mooolto buone, polpo alla pignata eccezionale. Compreso 1/4 vino della casa, prezzo totale 34€! Cameriere Enrico gentilissimo e simpatico. Super consigliato, ci torneremo sicuramente!!

02/08/2024: For more than three years in a row now, I have been spending my summer holidays at the Hotel Universo, located in the beautiful area of ​​the Alimini Lakes, rich in pine forests and Mediterranean scrub. In this place I found the ideal combination of the beauty of the sea, excellent cuisine and comfortable living. The sea: it is really just a few steps from the rooms (30 meters or 50 meters depending on the accommodation) and is extraordinarily clear. Furthermore, with a short walk along the shoreline (about 500 metres) you can easily reach Baia dei Turchi, one of the most beautiful beaches in Salento. The cuisine: the skill of the chefs is combined with the quality of the raw materials, allowing us to savor truly good dishes, simple but (perhaps for this very reason) full of flavour. Worth trying are the spaghetti from the Adriatic, the Universo risotto, the spaghetti with crab and the second courses where fish reigns supreme. The hotel restaurant is also open to external customers; for those (like me) who benefit from half board, the choice between three first courses and three second courses is available, but variations are also offered every day. With a very small difference in price you can still order any other dishes on the menu. The living room: the rooms are simple but well looked after and clean, equipped with everything you need. The best (as the name suggests) are the Comfort ones but the others also allow for an excellent stay. Internal parking for the car is available; the beautiful Otranto is just a few minutes away, as is Torre dell'Orso. To top it all off, there is the kindness and availability of Luca, the owner, and all the staff. Ultimately a place to recommend to those who love simple but quality things.

28/08/2024: I wouldn't have willingly given 5 stars to the service, but I gave them anyway given that I came on the evening of mid-August, we ate fabulously, we had a mixed fry, a Salento appetizer, the grilled scottona and the pistachio and hazelnut dessert , the mixed fried food was astonishing, such a good truffle arancino as I have never eaten in my life, the Salento appetizer had excellent cured meats and the burrata was also good, but the scottona was stratospheric, very soft, cooked rare and done to perfection, the dessert was also good, overall I would happily go back. If I really had to find negative points I would say that the scottona was either normal (without any side dish) or with porcini mushrooms, for example I asked for it with cherry tomatoes, rocket and parmesan, the dessert was very good even if served still practically frozen, while the room operator was a little nervous and it showed

26/08/2024: We had a dinner with colleagues at this pizzeria in Sannicola, the food was very good and the portions were generous. The only disappointment is that the place is far too dark from inside, especially in the evening.

15/08/2024: We had dinner for 2 with a shared appetizer, a first course each and a second course always shared (all fish except one of the two first courses)... the fish was of excellent quality and cooked really well... the portions gave us satisfaction... we are satisfied I also treated myself to a bottle of wine...the service was very welcoming...all for €67 Just good!

13/08/2024: Typical cuisine executed in a superlative way. Younger waiters, very friendly and polite and always available to make the customer feel at ease. Older waitress (owner?), more grumpy and unlike the other 2 makes you feel uncomfortable.

29/07/2024: Excellent excellent excellent. I came here with my family... I'm from Puglia, so I'm a good foodie, but not from the area. I found the restaurant on a site and attracted by the photos we went there. We took a bit of everything, just to try not the usual pizza. Huge sandwiches, crispy but not greasy fried foods, delicious pizzas. Honest prices. I highly recommend it
