Small place with limited seating, quiet, friendly service.
The portion of fries was a bit small, a small aluminum tray.
I recommend that it's best to be on foot to get to this place, as there's no parking directly in front, but you can opt for the parking garages 100 meters away or the Giardini Estensi parking lot opposite.
21/02/2026: Delicious! We went because I was looking for fried pizza, but since I couldn't find any in Varese, I decided to try the Apulian panzerotti anyway. Delicious, beautifully filled, and best of all, made to order! The price was more than reasonable considering it's in the city center! I had spicy salami, and it was truly filling and delicious! We were all very happy, and I definitely recommend it and will be back!

30/08/2025: Having moved to Jerago a few months ago and after touring various pizzerias, my husband and I finally found a pizzeria where the product is easy to digest and light. For those with mild lactose intolerance, they also offer special mozzarella on the pizza instead of the usual mozzarella.
In our case, it's also close to home, so we don't need a car; however, parking, even temporarily, is a problem.
Prices are still reasonable, and not everyone offers a pizza card like them, where after 10 pizzas you get a free Margherita or a soft drink/beer.

The food quality is quite good, but the portions are rather small (especially the starters). The price is average for business lunches (€5 for starters/€7 for main courses). Water, wine, etc. are not included.

Great value for money, a cute little pizzeria I highly recommend.
01/09/2025: The place is informal, its name now is "Lu purparu " located under the porticoes and pergolas, the dishes are plentiful and the prices are normal, the linguine with sea urchins are special, I will definitely return, what can I say... I recommend it to everyone, try it and believe it. 👍🏼

05/02/2026: We stumbled upon it by chance and were more than satisfied! Three kebab menus with freshly cooked piadina, plentiful and delicious, we struggled to finish them! Super affordable price, the gentleman was really nice and kind. If we're ever in the area, we'll definitely be back.

11/03/2026: A very well-organized takeout pizzeria, offering the option to order and pay directly from their website. The menu is very varied, including a wide variety of doughs.
I'd like to point out the owners' honesty. After ordering and paying online, they noticed a system error in the total and refunded us the amount we didn't owe.
I recommend their pizza, especially to those who prefer thin crust.

Every time I come to Castellanza, I always get pizza from them (my favorite is Capricioasa). For me, their pizza is the best. The staff is always helpful and friendly! I find it to be a pizza made with 🥰 love, well done!! 🥰🫶🎉❤️🍕

Friendliness and professionalism were the key. The little boy was given a bone-shaped pizza.
02/05/2026: I ordered five takeout pizzas last night. The staff was friendly and helpful; the ingredients were excellent, and you could feel the care taken in selecting the ingredients. There was some communication issues with the cashier when ordering, as I couldn't make her understand that I wanted a pizza with only vegetables.
Unfortunately, however, the pizzas were too burnt in several places, and in my opinion, this remains a significant flaw, as it affects the overall taste. It's a shame, because the foundation for success is there.

29/11/2025: I've never eaten so badly in my life. It was a pizzeria/restaurant, and there was no sign of pizza. The pizzaiolo probably couldn't be bothered. But after that meal, even a pizza probably wouldn't have been any better than the meal that was slapped on our table. We had frozen fries. The pasta was most likely microwaved. We ordered two chicken breasts and received one for two people. The waiter said there weren't any more, only one. A disaster; we would have been better off staying hungry. First and last time there... What a waste of money.

07/03/2026: After the change of management, Basilico is no longer the same: different doughs have disappeared; dessert menu is nonexistent; staff is no longer up to par; takeout is a challenge; wait times in the dining room are biblical; open only for dinner and only Thursday-Sunday.
All with unchanged prices.

10/05/2026: We tried almost everything — pizza, calamari, steak, potatoes, pasta, and wine. Overall, the flavors were nice and the steak was cooked properly and tasted good.
What disappointed us was mainly the pricing compared to the portions. Paying almost €30 for a steak that came completely alone without any sides already felt excessive, and then we ordered fries separately and received literally just a handful for €5. That definitely affected the overall experience and value for money.
The experience itself was pleasant and the food was decent, but in the end we were not particularly excited or impressed. It’s an okay place, but for the prices we expected more.
