The Tyrolean pizza was very good, with a soft, easily digestible dough (a little spicy and/or salty topping would make it truly perfect). The service was courteous, attentive, and professional, with friendly and always smiling waiters. The quality-price ratio was also excellent. A truly pleasant experience, we'll definitely be back. 06/07/2025: Unfortunately yesterday I should have tried this restaurant but it was not possible as it closed unexpectedly. I had booked 10 days before by phone a table of 20 people for the hen party of a dear friend of mine, after a beautiful day we arrived there ready for a nice meal in Testaccio and ... SURPRISE .... Place closed without any warning. I'll let you imagine the panic, Saturday night, Rome, Testaccio, 20 people and a bride to surprise ... fortunately we resolved with an excellent restaurant nearby that helped us and welcomed us by preparing a table at the last minute. We all hope nothing serious happened to close without warning the customers with the reservation ...

05/06/2025: Ieri sera sono stata per la prima volta in questo ristorante in occasione di una cena di lavoro. Locale molto bello, all’interno è possibile vedere anche i “cocci”, lo spazio esterno è gradevole, soprattutto nelle belle sere d’estate. Ho trovato una cucina romana ottima, una grande disponibilità da parte di Michele e dello staff alle svariate richieste da parte degli ospiti e grazie mille per il trattamento che avete riservato a me! Spero di tornare da voi presto!

25/02/2026: I happened upon La Pilotta when I made my first trip to Rome in 2010. It was an experience to remember, not just for the fantastic food but for the charming and joyful experience overall. We returned in 2018 with our family for an amazing Easter meal. Our most recent visit was February 2026. We arrived toward the end of the lunch rush when the place had just a few customers and the owner, Mario, was working at a calculator in the middle of the dining room. We ended up in conversation with him before a delicious meal — pasta all'amatriciana for me and pasta alla carbonara for my husband (when in Rome...). Before leaving, I happened to notice that hanging on the wall was the Rome travel piece I'd written for our upstate New York daily newspaper, the Times Union, in 2010. How it found its way to La Pilotta I'll never know, but I was overcome with joy and had to pose with Mario. This is a great spot, just outside the Vatican walls, great food, including delicious homemade pastas, comfy vibe, good prices. Stop by, and tell Mario I said hello.

25/02/2026: When you're completely exhausted... you stumble upon this restaurant full of locals, not tourists. The food is delicious. If I had to find a fault, the lasagna portion is small for the price. But everything else is fantastic!

02/03/2026: If you pass through Fiuggi, a must-see is Leo's. His signature dish is the pizza with porchetta in a potato crust, but all his other stuffed pizzas are also exceptional. The real Roman pizza alla pala. COMPLIMENTS.

25/01/2026: We visited because they offer gluten- and lactose-free options, and it turned out to be a wonderful surprise. A wide selection of local and non-local cuisine (appetizers, first courses, second courses, desserts, etc.)... as well as pizza and calzones, always gluten- and lactose-free. They are very careful to report possible contamination and incompatibilities. The service is warm and friendly, without ever becoming intrusive! Pleasant and well-kept atmosphere. A place I would recommend without hesitation. I hope to return!

24/01/2026: A large restaurant in the city center, close to Villa Ada, Parioli, and Trieste, with a full menu, including gluten-free options, and a dedicated kitchen. The food is good and there are plenty of options. Being a large restaurant, it can be particularly noisy when full, making it difficult to chat at the table.

21/12/2025: I spent a Sunday in December there, which was open for lunch since I wasn't looking for restaurants. The food was like home cooking, tasty, and the portions were generous. Mysteriously, there was still room to sit down, even though people were coming and going all the time, but they were locals who were there to shop. The service was quick, the place was small, but I was able to sit down and eat in peace.
