02/06/2025: Quality food in a beautiful location

20/05/2025: Mi sono dovuta ricredere, putroppo, su un locale che ricordavo con piacere! dopo aver prenotato, all'arrivo siamo stati sistemati in un angolo tra la porta di ingresso della sala e quella scorrevole che dava sulla cantina. Oltre al tavolo in posizione infelice, nella sala faceva freddo e alla richiesta di essere spostati nell'altro ambiente, più riscaldato, la signora addetta ha risposto in modo sbrigativo che non era possibile perchè mancavano i tavoli da due e ci sollecitava,senza mezzi termini, a ritornare al nostro posto...nonostante l'accoglienza poco piacevole abbiamo comunque deciso di rimanere e abbiamo ordinato delle patatine ( buone) , le pizze al piatto chiarendo che non volevamo la scrocchiarella e due coca cola. La coca ci è arriva in bicchiere ( forse non era neppure coca cola ma un liquido sfiatato nero ed annacquato), alla richiesta di una fetta di limone la risposta è stata che non ce n'era! Le pizze erano biscottate e la mia, con le acciughe anche molto, troppo salata. In conclusione una esperienza da non ripetere sia per il modo con cui siamo stati trattati che per il cibo.

12/06/2025: ONE OF A KIND ! My wife and I were back in Italy for the 2nd time in 18 months. We loved it the first time and it's been even better 2nd time round. After 4 fabulous days in Rome we took the bullet train to Florence where spent another 4 glorious days. AND THEN ! Martin our good friend and limo tour driver picked us up at 9am at the Hotel Berchielli for the long drive to Salerno. At around 1pm we stopped at a Sarni Grill for a hearty lunch and cappuccinos. FINALLY ! Martin navigated the narrow streets to get as close to our Airbnb apartment in Salerno as he could. At 3.30pm we said goodbye to Martin and wheeled our luggage up to our apartment near Corso Vittorio Emanuele...the huge ( mostly ) pedestrian mall which runs the length of the main shopping district in Salerno. OH NO ! It was all ripped for as far as the eye could see...new pipes etc being installed. Our 2 bed / 2 bath apartment was on the 4th floor...we took the elevator up of course where we met up with Annie Mae who worked for the owner. After Annie Mae saw our passports, showed us around the very nice apartment it was time to freshen up and think about dinner. We knew Salerno a fair bit from our 4 day stay 18 months before....of course pizza would be our first choice. There was a Pizzium ( we enjoyed a great tastin' pizza here last trip ) on the pedestrian mall a short walk from our apartment but it was drizzling when we exited our building at 7.30pm. BIG SURPRISE ! After walking just a few feet we saw there was a pizzeria on the ground floor virtually below our apartment...the door was open and a friendly looking guy beckoned us to come in. WE DID ! And it felt very cosy indeed with its beautiful looking brick oven blazing away. We sat at a table and Nello showed us a dinner menu...pizzas and calzones. FIRST UP ! I asked Nello for a cold beer and a chilled glass...in fact I asked him to put a stem glass in the fridge for a few minutes. NOTE ! In general we noticed that the Italians and French simply run cold water in their glasses when serving beers. We followed Nello's suggestion and ordered 2 pizzas of different varieties....Arruscata & Terre Sveve. My Peroni Nastro Azzurro Pale Lager - 5% abv and chilled glass were ready to enjoy...it tasted good enough for the occasion. Our 2 wood-fired pizzas were ready within a few short minutes. I took a great pic of Peppe the Pizzaiolo with our 2 delicious looking pizzas before they hit our table. MOUTHSATIONAL ! Trust me we know pizzas...there is no shortage of excellent pizza joints in the USA and we have been making our own from scratch at home for more than 20 years. Amazing flavor and amazing texture...as good as you would find anywhere in the world ! Nello who seemed to be the one running the show explained that his girlfriend Ilaria Falcone and her Dad owned the pizzeria. Business looked a bit quiet on the night but we were here in March which is much cooler and not the busy season. Very good pizzas, super friendly service, decent beers and a beautiful warm vibe inside is a recipe for success. WE'LL BE BACK FOR SURE !

10/06/2025: So good! We went for pretty basic things but there were lots of options to choose from. Prices were reasonable, waiters were really kind.

04/06/2025: Attesa interminabile abbiamo aspettato più di un’ora per due pizze Assolutamente sconsiglio la margherita in pala non mi è piaciuta per niente

11/05/2025: Good pizza and fried food, as well as beers. Really large place, quick service (there is a lot of staff available). On a Saturday there were 2 of us without a reservation, at 9pm we waited about twenty minutes and went in. The parking outside is really convenient, controlled by one of their employees. A personal suggestion: perhaps TVs are superfluous, as they cannot be heard (noisy environment) and above all no one watches them.

08/06/2025: Good pizza at reasonable prices and friendly staff. The only thing I regret is that the arancini didn't seem very artisanal as written on the menu, but that's okay. I'll be back!

14/06/2025: A true artist of local cuisine, genuine and delicious local products. A bit of everything to try. Ambience a bit narrow for groups but comfortable.

15/05/2025: During our trip we stopped at Mercato San Severino and bought our take-away dinner here: a delicious panuozzo nr. 26: buffalo mozzarella, yellow datterino, bacon km0, €12.00 cheese, pepper and some eggplant meatballs. When we got home a few minutes later we discovered truly unmissable goodness and quality.

01/06/2025: I've been to this pub and I was really impressed by the kindness of the staff: everyone was super helpful, smiling and kind. I tried the new sandwich on the "Daredevil" menu.. very good, I recommend it! I'll definitely be back!

03/06/2025: 06/2025 a good place to eat, both as a reception and as a normal occasion at the restaurant. Food truly to be praised especially for the flavor of the tagliatelle allo scoglio, and also for the dishes with cod in different cooking methods. I would have found a flaw, the coffee served in paper cups. From a restaurant in Campania I would not have expected it, but perhaps it is I who do not know certain procedures. Affability certainly present in abundance, and therefore the flaw manifested can be overcome.

09/06/2025: Limpio y con una gran vista, y el personal amable que realmente no habla inglés. Así que el menú era un desafío y con una familia exigente nos costó un poco encontrar una opción segura. La pasta estaba buena y la ternera era masiva y dios, sin embargo con el precio por hekto no hubiéramos elegido tanta carne si se nos diera una opción u opinión

06/07/2025: 6 of us went to this beautiful location to have our lunch. The scenery was beautiful and a cosy relaxing place to eat. The rating of the following foods are 1. Salted cod - very good and tasty 2. Mixed pasta with potato and calamari - extremely salty, and very unhealthy to your kidney. Don’t eat !!!!! A waste of money 3. Beef tartar - average 5/10 only 4. Slow cooked beef with Genovese sauce - very good and tasty

27/06/2025: Dinner at a restaurant with a stunning view

13/06/2025: We were treated so badly. The service is slow and the waiters so rude and angry. The starters were slow coming and extremely disappointing and overcooked to the point of hard to chew. Then an hour long wait for our mains. The waiter came out with two identical dishes neither of which we had ordered. The waiter tried to force the dish on us with no apology for their mistake. My partner took it to prevent further argument but I couldn't face it. I asked again for what I had ordered. The waiter went off angrily. So my partner sat waiting for my food to arrive not feeling he could eat when I had no food. Half an hour later it had still not arrived and we could not attract their attention so I walked over to them and asked for the bill and sat down. No bill arrived so we got up to leave and he tried to persuade us to have pudding and coffee. Finally brought the bill when we were waling out. Having arrived at 7:30 we left at 10:45 having had no food that was edible.

11/06/2025: Welcoming environment, professional and polite staff. Tortelli Burro e Salvia...... They are out of this world!! In this period it is closed in the evening, we hope they open soon
