27/02/2026: We had a great time, and even though we booked late that evening (Saturday), they invited us in anyway, letting us know we'd have to wait a few minutes, then seated us. Very friendly, the pizza was extraordinary, with just the right flavors, a good wine we chose by the bottle, coffee, and dessert. The price was fair.

24/02/2026: I had a pizza, the buffalo mozzarella, and I enjoyed it. My wife, on the other hand, had the capricciosa, but she found the cooked ham to be of terrible quality, so she didn't eat it all. One thing I didn't like, however, was that it was too hot—maybe 30 degrees—and in fact, all the staff were wearing short sleeves, so they couldn't hear it.

08/06/2025: I was at this place yesterday, after I had heard about it because I have 2 celiac daughters, they make gluten-free pizza here. The place is nice, large, with a small parking lot outside. The normal pizza is good, with long-leavened dough, well-topped and cooked in a non-wood oven. You can improve on the gluten-free: we asked for margheritas with sausages and we were told that they don't have sausages (one of the children's favorite foods). We then asked for the addition of cooked ham on a pizza, with the supplement of 2 euros and 50 (for half a slice of ham)! The draft beer that was served to me wasn't great, while for the girls we asked for a Coke and we were served a similar one. For 3 pizzas, 2 of which were gluten-free (a normal capricciosa, a Margherita and a Margherita with cooked ham) 1 Coke, 1 still water and 2 small draft beers we received a bill of €51.50. Despite the high prices, I recommend it on regular pizza, but the gluten free ones aren't that great!

01/06/2025: Very nice place with enveloping features. Wide choice of pizzas both in flavors and doughs. I recommend it to try a pizza different from the usual.

11/02/2026: A very characteristic place in Chieti Scalo. A typical fast food restaurant serving pizza by the slice, delicious stuffed and filled calzones of various kinds, and fries. Frequented by many university students for its excellent value. I love stopping by whenever I'm in Chieti Scalo. Definitely worth a try.

19/04/2026: A pizza and wine tasting that won me over! Excellent pizza, balanced flavors, and top-quality ingredients. You can immediately sense the love for this work. Sincere compliments to Maria Rosaria, an attentive and passionate owner, and to manager Nicola for the organization and care of the place. The atmosphere is refined, welcoming, and the staff are extremely friendly. A place you'll gladly return to.

09/04/2026: Seated on the terrace for lunch, after a 1.5-hour wait, we left. We were never served and completely ignored by the staff. A brief note suggesting there was a problem in the kitchen or that they were too busy would have sufficed, but nothing, not a word, despite numerous requests! They did offer an apology when we left, though. A shame, because the pizzas looked good.

04/11/2025: It's now become my go-to pizzeria when I'm in the area. The pizza is excellent and the staff is always very friendly. Service is also very fast and prices are very fair. Highly recommended.

03/05/2026: Il Ghiottone in Francavilla deserves all its stars! Delicious food in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. A great place for dinner with friends. We had a very pleasant evening with excellent, artistic appetizers and dessert. The price was also very reasonable. The staff was kind and friendly! We'll be back.

28/03/2026: We visited this restaurant for a dinner featuring traditional specialties. We started with a mixed antipasto of cured meats and cheeses: the quality of the cured meats was excellent, and the freshness of the ingredients was evident, but the overall composition of the dish was lacking. In particular, the cheese selection was truly meager, with only a single slice on the plate. Next, we tried the arrosticini, which were flavorful and perfectly cooked, accompanied by a fragrant focaccia that rounded out the dish nicely. Overall, the review was positive and the food was good, but the antipasto portions could have been a little more generous, especially for the cheeses, to better showcase the quality of the ingredients. We'll be back, hoping for a more balanced platter!

14/10/2025: Discovered by chance during a stopover on the way from Trento to Puglia, it was a delightful discovery: excellent food, a varied and appetizing menu, a beautiful, clean atmosphere, and above all, impeccable management. Everyone was incredibly kind, making us feel "at home" in a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended!!

A historic pizzeria that has fed the people of the Levante area and beyond for so many years. You will be sorely missed. Every time I pass by that place, I'm sure to shed a tear. Kudos to you.
