24/03/2026: I'm sorry to write this comment, because I've known you for a long time, and I've always had a great experience. Unfortunately, it's during difficult times that customer service is most noticeable, and today this attention was lacking. I came with six colleagues for pizza. After about 10 minutes of perusing the pizza menu, the waitress informed us that the pizza dough was out, and she did so without the slightest apology. I expressed our disappointment at the cashier, receiving only a vague explanation of your difficulties, but no apology, and not even a courtesy (a small discount, a free coffee). Perhaps it's normal for you for a pizzeria to run out of dough, but for me it's not. Despite this, I think the shortcoming is understandable, but what should never be lacking, and which would have cost you nothing, is customer service. I know you, and I will return, but I can assure you that my colleagues have already expressed their intention to choose other places in the future. This is why I am writing to you, to urge you not to repeat certain very avoidable slips.

30/12/2025: A nice, well-kept place, the staff is fantastic, courteous, and super friendly. The food is very, very good. I highly recommend it. And then there's the VR46 just a stone's throw away, which doesn't hurt.

19/04/2026: We stopped for lunch with a group of friends. It's a very unique, well-kept place with a lovely outdoor garden where you can eat. The menu is truly extensive, with plentiful appetizers and first courses as well. I must say, everything was delicious and of excellent quality. We'll definitely be back. The service could be improved; the staff are very young and eager, but you can tell they have little experience.

14/04/2026: An excellent restaurant in Matera's old town. We were seated upstairs in a charming, large vaulted room. Both the appetizers and our main courses were delicious—the only slight drawback was that one of the dishes was far too salty. Superb Italian wine list. Highly recommended.

28/03/2026: An excellent local restaurant! On a Sunday at lunchtime it was crowded with local families enjoying a homely environment and feeling. The place is nice; it has also great outdoor seating. The pizza toppings were definitely 5⭐️ for the quality of the ingredients and the amount, very fairly priced, in my opinion. I shall add that I would have liked a softer dough but that's my personal preference and, honestly, I have enjoyed their more rustic dough by the end. So, with that said, I would definitely come back!

22/03/2026: Pizzeria dell'Angelo in the De Angeli neighborhood is one of those places that feels frozen in time, and in this case, that's not necessarily a bad thing. The place has a very '80s vibe, simple and unfussy, yet still welcoming. The menu features the classic Milanese pizza by the slice: tasty, hearty, and satisfying, perfect if you're looking for something traditional and not overly gourmet. The place is cute, but overall, nothing particularly memorable. A major downside: the prices. Pay close attention, as they're not always clear. For example, for three and a half slices of pizza and a quarter of wine, we spent €85 for three, which is already high considering the experience. But what really bothered me was something else: when we got the bill, they tacked on about €15 more. We only noticed this after leaving, checking the receipt, and had to go back to have the mistake corrected. An unfortunate situation, especially since, in the absence of a clear menu, verbally communicated prices should be respected without any surprises. In short: good pizza and a vintage atmosphere, but pricing transparency and attention to detail definitely need improvement.

29/03/2026: The website says the first shift is from 7 to 9, but over the phone they tell me the table is free until 8:30, and once we get there at 8 they ask us to leave because they have to vacate the table. Honestly, I expected a different organization in a place like this. The pizza is good, though.

11/03/2026: I went on a friend's recommendation, and I have to say it was worth it. The Neapolitan pizza dough is among the best in the province, with excellent ingredients and combinations, from the lightest and simplest to the most unusual. The atmosphere is very quaint; the only downside was the very loud atmosphere, but since we went on a Saturday, it was naturally crowded. Despite this, you can still chat with your guests. I'll definitely be back!
