Today, July 29, 2025, we ate here with our family. It was indeed super chaotic and completely lacking structure. Yes, you're being ripped off, but the food is good. Ultimately, we had fun and enjoyed our meal. But we'll be better prepared next time. We paid €90.00 for 4 people, which included 6 cokes, 5 plates of pasta, and service. WE'RE CHECKING THE REVIEWS BEFORE WE GO ANYWHERE!!!! Afterwards, you feel like you've been ripped off twice.

Be prepared! You sit down and are presented with a 5-course fish menu. It was a bit of a shock until we read the reviews on Google. We decided to go with the flow. Fortunately, all the dishes were delicious and fresh, and we love fish. The owner was also friendly. We paid €200 (cash only...) for 5 people, including drinks. If the owner had honestly stated that he offers a daily menu with fresh fish dishes and mentioned the price (instead of the fake menu board that's currently hanging there), I would have given the restaurant 5 stars. Now, many people feel like it's a scam.

A typical Roman taverna where you sit down and they bring you whatever's available from a fixed menu (fish). A view of the cathedral in the heart of the city. Five stars because places like this will soon be gone: osteria-style service, Roman music, and the host is hilarious ("Today I'm poisoning you with fish"). Everything was plentiful, and the baked fish at the end was excellent; the kids ate everything. We paid €35 each.

We were a party of four for a midday meal. The other reviewers are correct that you have no choice in what you eat and once seated are brought one course after another. So it is surprising. Fortunately we like seafood and found the five course dinner delicious--fresh, well prepared with very generous portions. The other diners appeared to be local people and they also seemed very contented. The owner was friendly and since we did not drink, when we left he gave us a bottle of wine. We ate outdoors, the table settings were simple and clean. I recommend it, but only if you like seafood and are willing to go with the flow.

30/03/2026: I've never eaten pizza here, so I can't comment on that. But I've had paccheri with baby octopus, tagliolini with fish sauce, cod with tomato sauce, tortelli, and cacciucco, all of which I'm absolutely delighted with. It's a takeout place, but you can enjoy these dishes on a furnished veranda with tables, obviously without service. I go there often and am always satisfied.

19/08/2025: Known because a dear friend has been going there for years. Huge establishment. Very well equipped. I saw two beach volleyball courts and a five-a-side football pitch. They have a restaurant with a good menu, ranging from spaghetti with clams (which I ate. Excellent), to fried calamari and shrimp, mixed salad, caprese salad, prosciutto and mozzarella, and in the evening they also do pizza. Very large bar with cocktail service, ice cream (even three freezers with packaged ice cream). It's the first time I've seen such a large selection of ice cream by the sea. I recommend anyone who finds themselves in Principina al Mare to try it, and I think they'll be more than satisfied, like me.
