08/08/2026: The food is good quality, although the first courses were very (too) al dente. However, it's unfair that, for a table of seven, twenty minutes passed between the first and last course. The outdoor veranda faces a fairly busy street.

07/08/2026: The location is lovely, cool, and breezy. Cuttlefish with artichokes (preserved in oil) is to be avoided. The seafood was decent, except for the salmon, which has little to do with seafood. Wine from €22. Two people spent €111. Not bad for the type of cuisine and ingredients. The first courses were good.

09/08/2026: Negative experience. I find it absurd that only men are required to wear a shirt to be in the club, while women aren't required to do so. If there is a dress code, it should apply equally to everyone. A truly unjustified disparity in treatment.

17/06/2026: Restaurant looks okay and its the 1st one you see from the far end parking lot. Clearly a tourist spot/trap. No locals eat here. Food is terrible. Carbonara was bad and grilled pork chop was raw.

30/07/2025: A terrible evening (unfortunately, in almost every way). Three friends and I booked dinner at this restaurant in Cecina, known for its renowned pinsa al metro. Before moving on to the many negatives, I can confirm that the product is high-quality, digestible, and very good. However... the "buts" are too many, too serious, and they'll make me never return. First, when booking, I made sure to ask if there was air conditioning, and to my great disappointment, I found the place rather stuffy (light air conditioning, almost nonexistent). That said, they seat us, and the waitress shows up to take our order only 15 minutes later (imagine 15 minutes in 35°C weather without even a glass of water). We order a total of 3.5 meters of pinsa, of which 1 meter is reserved exclusively for one of the lactose-intolerant diners. I make sure to ask that he arrive at the same time (or before) the first pizzas, as otherwise he wouldn't have been able to "taste" a slice of ours. Of course, his pizza arrives, not only 45 minutes after the others, but one side of it has mozzarella. That should be enough, right? And instead, the beer (14 euros for Menabrea) is presented in a very sad carafe and clearly and heavily watered down: undrinkable. Finally, when it was time for coffee, the waitress decided to bring not 4 (as requested), but only 1. The other 3 arrived only after another 10 minutes. Overall result: 2 hours of dinner in unbearably hot weather 1 diner hungry, or almost 30 euros per person, without even the courtesy of removing the portion of pizza the lactose-intolerant customer hadn't touched. Never, never, never again (despite the pinsa, alas, excellent).

13/07/2025: Serata terribile (purtroppo, sotto tutti i punti di vista o quasi) Io ed altri tre amici prenotiamo per cena in questo locale di Cecina noto per la sua rinomata pinsa al metro. Prima di passare alle molteplici note dolenti, confermo che il prodotto sia di alta qualità, digeribile e molto buono. Però... i però sono troppi, troppo gravi e mi spingono a non tornarvi più. In primo luogo, al momento della prenotazione mi sono premurato di chiedere se vi fosse l'aria condizionata e, con mia somma delusione, ho trovato un locale piuttosto afoso (aria condizionata leggera quasi inesistente). Ciò detto, ci fanno accomodare e la cameriera si presenta a prendere l'ordine solo dopo 15' (immaginate 15' con 35° senza nemmeno un bicchiere d'acqua) Ordiniamo, complessivamente 3 mt e mezzo di pinsa, di cui 1 destinato esclusivamente ad uno solo dei commensali intollerante al lattosio, alché mi premuro di chiedere che quest'ultimo giunga contemporaneamente (ovvero antecedentemente) alle prime pizze in uscita, in quanto, in difetto, egli non avrebbe potuto 'assaggiare' una fetta delle nostre. Ovviamente, la sua pizza giunge, non solo dopo 45' dall'arrivo delle altre, ma una parte della stessa presenta della mozzarella. Basterebbe questo, no? E, invece, la birra (14 euro di menabrea) viene presentata in una tristissima caraffa e palesemente e pesantemente annacquata: imbevibile. Infine, al momento del caffè, la cameriera decide apoditticamente di portarne non già 4 (come richiesto), bensì solo 1. Gli altri 3 arriveranno solo dopo ulteriori 10'. Risultato complessivo: 2 ore di cena con un'afa insopportabile 1 commensale digiuno o quasi 30 euro a persona senza nemmeno la cortesia di espungere la parte di pizza nemmeno toccata dal cliente intollerante al lattosio. Mai, mai, mai più (nonostante la pinsa, ahimè, eccellente)

20/07/2026: Sometimes you come across a restaurant that you talk about for a long time. Unfortunately, Teatro del Mare was such a place for us, but not for the right reasons. Upon arrival, our eyes immediately fell on a plate of seafood pasta being carried past us. The shellfish and shrimp didn't seem to be swimming in a delicious sauce, but in a complete ocean of olive oil. We exchanged glances, but because the reviews were so good, we decided to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. Our first choice, pasta bolognese, turned out to be sold out. So, we went for the penne al pomodoro with basil instead. In hindsight, perhaps we should have ordered nothing at all. When the pasta was served, we wondered if the chef had lost a bet. The penne lay in a large pool of olive oil with a few bits of tomato sauce here and there that looked like it came straight from a can. The basil consisted of exactly two leaves, one of which was clearly past its prime. And although the olive oil was plentiful, the chef still managed to make the pasta taste bone dry. An achievement in itself. For a dish of this quality, €3 would already be on the high side. Yet you pay €10 for the pasta plus an additional €3 per person for seating. In return, you get a long wait and disappointing food. The only thing that truly deserves five stars is the view of the sea. That was beautiful. It is a pity that we ultimately enjoyed that more than the food.

03/05/2026: I ate really well. Tagliolini with lobster, tonnarelli with artichokes and sea bass, and exceptional raw ham and skewers.

04/04/2026: The fish appetizers and first courses are truly exceptional. The service is also excellent. The location, which is very close to the sea but not very beautiful, is compensated by an excellent menu; just look at the dishes and you'll be amazed.

21/07/2026: Terrible experience. Poor food. Pasta seemed precooked, inedible even for a dog. Appetizers were beyond mediocre. Parking was difficult. I will never return. Highly discouraged.

21/07/2026: Terrible service, VERY GOOD food. I booked a bachelorette party for 14 people weeks in advance. We arrived at the scheduled time and were greeted by LUCIA, who showed us to our table and began by saying, "We put you at separate tables; I couldn't make one table for you" (implying that she had already told me this over the phone). When we explained that this wasn't what we wanted and that we hadn't been informed over the phone, she proposed an L-shaped table where one person would be eating with the gazebo leg stuck to their face. We then told her to kindly put the tables back to their original positions if that was the only solution. From this point on, THE APOCALYPSE: she moved the tables, knocking things over: light bulbs, cutlery, glasses, but in the end she agreed to our request. After this episode, to calm everyone's spirits, we asked for two bottles of Prosecco to celebrate the bride. We asked for glasses to toast, but they told us they didn't have glasses suitable for Prosecco and couldn't give us the ones for wine, otherwise they'd dirty them (Crazy!!). So, they offered us the shallow ones for water. The icing on the cake was the bill. After the bride paid part of the bill, the rest was divided among the other 13 people, and we went to pay our share, person by person. When the last of the 13 people was missing, Lucia stated with extreme certainty that she was two shares short. We all went to the cashier to prove that we had paid (with receipts or phone transactions) and that therefore it was not possible that two shares were missing, as she said. All this to say that the food is good and for this reason it would be worth returning, but with someone like that welcoming the customer, I would strongly advise against going!

07/07/2026: My partner and I had dinner last night and really enjoyed it. The place is very charming, with a pleasant atmosphere. The waitress was courteous, attentive, and always available throughout the evening. The portions are generous and the dishes are truly excellent. We chose the seafood pan and the cacciucco: both spectacular, rich in flavor, and very well prepared. We accompanied our dinner with a bottle of white wine. For dessert, we had tiramisu and panna cotta. Personally, I wasn't entirely convinced by the tiramisu, but the panna cotta was very much appreciated. To round out the dinner, we had two coffees. The bill came to around €50 per person for everything we ate and drank. Considering the quality of the dishes, the generous portions, and the service, I think the value for money is absolutely fair. It's definitely a place I'd return to.

30/06/2026: Sky-high prices (we paid €12.50 for an American pizza with added ham), the dough was too salty, and the pizza was burned for the umpteenth time despite being asked to pay attention.

01/06/2026: Unfortunately, we were disappointed! Everything was too salty, and the fried foods were too peppery and spicy, as if to cover up the flavors. The service was good and the manager was kind, but, unfortunately, we didn't like the pizzas. They were too rich, the flavors didn't stand out, too heavy, and perhaps the dough didn't rise as slowly as it should. I had to stay up all night to get a drink. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it.

09/07/2026: A lovely restaurant overlooking the coast where you can enjoy good food. The service was friendly and helpful, accommodating our needs despite our late arrival. The decor is simple, but I think air conditioning could be a plus. Thanks to those who served us.

26/05/2026: A fantastic local restaurant! Everything here feels exactly like in the movies: the family working together, cooking with love, the noise, the atmosphere, the constant movement. The place was full even on a Monday — which in Italy is already a serious recommendation. For the first time in my life, I saw Catalana Mista on the menu — seafood with fruit. Naturally, I ordered it. While waiting, they brought focaccia as a starter, which immediately reduced the danger of making irrational decisions from hunger. In short: everything was delicious. The only small tragedy was the wine list — slightly over-dried. The wines I wanted to try had already been consumed by other enthusiasts of civilization. So I ordered a simple local everyday wine, grown somewhere in the nearby fields. And honestly — it was the right decision. The food was already so good that trying to impress it further with some sophisticated Riserva would have been unnecessary intellectual overengineering. Greetings to the owners!
