23/10/2024: Perfect view across the sea and towards the national park. Excellent menu with good mixture of local and contemporary dishes. Very good wine list and really attentive staff. Recommend for dinner or lunch. We ate several of their recommended traditional Sicilian dishes.

04/01/2025: Fort Apache per noi è una garanzia. Ci torniamo ogni anno durante la nostra permanenza in Sicilia. Stavolta abbiamo preso il menù di pesce con antipasti e primi. Porzioni abbondanti e rapporto qualità/prezzo insuperabile.

08/04/2025: Not to be recommended at all, the loose wine taken out of the fridge already in the jug...the only customers of the evening...served after more than half an hour and after the owners' table...in the end the bill...very high...and I won't say anything else...

19/12/2024: Stopped for lunch on a busy afternoon and we were shown to a nice table out front. We had a very attentive waiter and thought the food was tasty and fairly priced. Very good house wine served in mid sized pitchers.

28/11/2024: At first it looks like the perfect place, it was full with people (i think because was raining) so we thought to give it a try. We quickly set down and short after we got our order picked. Now the fun goes down the drain, we ordered two glasses of wine - they brought one, took ages to bring the second one. Was hard to get someone’s attention, there were two waiters and the third one that seemed to be the manager, and all of them seemed to be very busy by managing all the tables all three of them at ones. We had a table near the kitchen and could see and hear chefs frustration by having food on the pas waiting too long. We got the starters very late and parmigiana tested microwaved (super hot, scolding hot) , when we asked for some salt and pepper for caprese salad they brought it to us when we almost finished it. After long time when we got our table cleaned we asked for the bill and informed the waiter that we also had ordered mains that we will not have. He brought the bill with mains included, again it took time until someone approached for us to pay. Long story short, the manager said we will have to pay for the mains cause the food is on the pass waiting to be served, tho we didn’t asked to follow up, when we tried to explain ourselves the other waiter interfered and made a show by saying that she will pay the rest from her salary, many times repeating herself out loud in the middle of the restaurant. They’ve changed the bill and now they were avoiding us so we just left the money on the table and got out.

16/10/2024: Ottima location direttamente sul mare, piatti ottimi, va tre varietà di menu, secondi di pesce curati, ottimo servizio, dolci in linea con la tradizione pantesca. Consigliato!

23/09/2024: Ristorante molto carino proprio sul mare. Abbiamo preso peperoni mandorlati, polpo con patate. Poi dell'ottimo pesce: ricciola alla griglia e nasello al forno. Anche il bacio pantesco e la cassata erano ottimi. Personale molto gentile

12/04/2025: Consigliato da un'amica palermitana, anche se un pò caro rispetto agli altri locali che abbiamo provato con mia moglie, ha alternati piatti ben cucinati ad alcune pietanze che non ci hanno convinti. Bella la location all'interno, con dei giardini in cui potersi sedere. Buona la frittura di mare (anche se mancavano i pesci bianchi descritti nel menu), buone le polpettine di tonno al sugo, decisamente bocciata l'insalata di mare (so distinguere tra un polpo calloso e uno ohime quasi immangiabile). Tre tipologie di tagliate di tonno da provare (le quantità però lasciavano a desiderare). Ottima la cassata. Per il vino (non buonissimo), mi sono affidato alla cameriera, chiedendo qualcosa di locale e di etneo. Rassicurato, mi è stato portato un bianco di Marsala. In conclusione è un bel locale e credo che forse siamo stati anche sfortunati in qualche piatto, ma siccome i prezzi sono di prima fascia (giusto magari se si cerca la qualità), allora tanto la cucina quanto il servizio dovrebbero fare un bel balzo in avanti.

18/02/2025: Chiamiamo nel pomeriggio del 14 Febbraio (da Messina) per chiedere se c’era la disponibilità del tavolo e ci dicono che possiamo sederci senza problemi nel secondo turno (21 45-22). Arriviamo per le 21 30 e c’era fila ma per le 22 15 ci fanno accomodare. Aspettiamo circa 30 min e arriva il cameriere per prendere la comanda ma ordiniamo solo la cena per il beverage ci comunica che sarebbe tornato ma passano 10 min e non si vede nessuno. Alle 22 40 circa arriva l’antipasto e noi ci troviamo con la portata servita al centro ma senza bicchieri e piatti e sopratutto senza acqua. Da dire che i camerieri passavano sempre fra i tavoli e vedevano cosa mancava o meno e non rimediavano. Ad un certo punto nell’attesa interminabile fra l’antipasto e il primo diversi tavoli cominciano a lamentarsi per l’attesa interminabile e la disorganizzazione. I nostri primi arrivano solo alle 23 15 e il secondo alle 23 40. Ci siamo alzati da tavola alle 23 45 esausti e stremati. Peccato perché il cibo non era male, forse i prezzi un tantino esagerati. Il locale di per sè merita. Consiglio comunque il tris di tonno. Purtroppo il proprietario dovrebbe "saper" gestire meglio il tutto, e non voler solo sopraffare (cosa che quella sera ha strafatto). C'è un limite a tutto e si notava che dalla cucina qualcosa non funzionava.

14/04/2025: In spite of the negative reviews we had dinner in this place whose fame has reached Ravenna, our city. Beautiful location, unique for its view of the salt pans and suggestive sunset. Tables are set up to enjoy the view. The food is more than good, the professional service is courteous, the prices are in line with the offer. I hope to return in the summer for an outdoor aperitif.

06/01/2025: Mi dispiace non avere fatto le foto; antipasto della casa ottimo, primi a base di pesce strepitosi nella qualità e quantità, idem la pizza. Staff cordiale e disponibile, festeggiavamo un compleanno e ci hanno omaggiato il servizio torta (portata da noi) e inoltre ci hanno offerto una bottiglia di Santero, anche le pizze ottime. Straconsiglio a chiunque si trova a visitare Montevago. Grazie ancora per l’accoglienza !

21/03/2025: Esperienza terribile, cominciando dal solo odore appena si varca l’entrata, per non parlare dei bagni… . Abbiamo preso delle pizze singole, si presume surgelate.. e delle pizze grandi tagliate e servite in dei vassoi di metallo, il piatto col dessert poggiato sopra il piatto con i resti vari della pizza, rumori ambigui ,ingredienti scadenti.. . davvero brutto, non consiglio affatto.

21/03/2025: The location is not welcoming at all. Dirty cutlery, bread, pasta with sauce inedible. The dessert (ice cream) taken from the supermarket... I really think I will not return.

18/02/2025: La parola "ottimo" descrive l'esperienza, in un locale a due passi dal mare, con tavoli all'aperto, buona diversità di menù, bontà più che accettabile, prezzi e servizio adeguati.

16/01/2025: Ho conosciuto questo locale diversi anni orsono: ho ritrovato la stessa cordialità e bontà del cibo e - cosa che non guasta - stavolta il tempo era clemente ed abbiamo potuto pranzare...in riva al mare di Marzamemi.
