05/02/2024: Tried it months ago. Our food and wine experience in Taormina ends in this place managed by a young team both in the kitchen and in the dining room. This freshness is perceived not only in the environment, but above all in the preparations and the ideas behind them. However, ideas alone are not enough, you need technique, study, dedication and a vast knowledge of the raw material and the versatility of the multiple uses and combinations. Well, there's all this at Modí! The wine list is very well structured and extensive, in my opinion it can only be improved in the proposed itineraries which, if more customizable, would better adapt to the dishes that are chosen. We opted for the la carte, but to put the staff in difficulty, I also asked for a dish that wasn't available à la carte, but only on the tasting menu (that's not true! I only did it for pleasure!!). The staff handled the request perfectly and professionally. As an entree offered by the house, they are served, placed on the fingers of a ceramic hand, cod balls fried with lemon, fake cherry tomatoes stuffed with tomato puree and, on the palm of the "oriental butter", which reminded us of more Moroccan, with turmeric, curry, paprika, lime and chilli. In my opinion, given the continuation of the dinner which showcased the chef's hand, this offer can be improved. Scenographically fantastic. Accompanying wine is an excellent Etna Bianco di Terra Costantino. Followed by a dish that we will remember for a long time: Carnaroli risotto with citrus fruits, flakes of scampi and caviar. Delicate dish, very centered, harmonious in all its ingredients with scampi that literally melt in your mouth. A worthy accompaniment is a Donnafugata rosé made from 100% Nerello Mascalese grapes. We continue with the seaweed tartare, foie gras granita and burrata for me, while my partner took a slice of tuna with different consistencies of onions (foam, cream). Both dishes were excellent. Ingenious ideas and perfect mastery of combinations. These dishes conveyed to me the great fun that the chef must have in playing with raw materials, experimenting with cooking methods and combining them with each other. Here is my "intruder": directly from the tasting menu, a pigeon, pumpkin and apple cola with its own flavored sauce, liver cream and heart. Excellent! Test passed given that pigeon is the terrain on which all great chefs compete. Paired with an Etna Rosso by Tornatore, a blend of Nerello Mascalese and Cappuccio, rapid passage in barrel. Very good. I finally closed with a tasting of Sicilian cheeses which I found a little "off" compared to the things I have tasted so far, but it is probably a little more difficult to find dairy gems in this region rich in all sorts of good things! Quite an important bill, but absolutely in line with the quality of the evening.

23/01/2024: Intimidate dining atmosphere with thoughtful dishes and warm hospitality. Probably one of the best fine dining experiences available in Taormina during the off-season. Will return again.

29/03/2024: Thanks to my friend Peppe I discovered this restaurant. The quality of the products can be understood immediately. We went there for dinner and it was a beautiful evening, also because the place was clean and comfortable, like being at home.

25/02/2024: Amici mie is a welcoming bistro (20 seats) where you can spend pleasant evenings in the company of friends. The chef, Gabriele Oliva, despite his young age, demonstrates mastery and knowledge in dealing with traditional dishes but also innovative combinations. Personally, I had never tried the squid-chickpea combination and was pleasantly surprised. The manager and I presume also the owner is a histrionic and easy-going gentleman, always able to make the customer smile. Special mention, infinitely appreciated the choice to serve the Moka to our request for coffee. Super recommended.

28/04/2024: Eating at Francesco's is a pleasure and a guarantee, from the friendly and pleasant professional service to the impeccable cuisine for the choice of raw materials and the art of cooking them. Whenever I bring friends to eat they are always satisfied. Excellent choice also for the wine list. At the end of the meal you can't help but enjoy the freshly prepared fresh ricotta raviolines, all accompanied by top spirits. 7 spices a guarantee

04/04/2024: A place to return to. The food is excellent and a lot and the guys who serve are wonderful, smiling and fast as well as elegant. The place is warm, beautiful and welcoming and we won't talk about the music. There was a group called the Quibblers that I fell in love with. I wouldn't have left but I had to. I will certainly come back to bring you my daughter, thanks for your work, you make me hope that professionalism still exists and this is said by a person who has been in the hotel tourism field for decades. 04/04/2024: Recommended as a lunch stop along the highway. Pass the pasteries and go upstairs to the rather formal dining room. Very good pasta carbonara (large portions) and swordfish steak - we ordered with a little grilled vegetable portion. The mixed seafood antipasti that we saw at other tables looked delicious! Try it and say hello to Massimo the charming waiter that makes ensures first class service with a smile.

08/05/2024: The best meal we had in Palermo. Generous portions & beautifully cooked dishes. Favorites were the amatriciana & the pasta vongole. Prices were also incredibly reasonable & the staff were super friendly.

03/04/2024: We were encouraged to book this place for a dinner by good reviews however sadly it turned out to be a big disappointment. The only good think was the waitress’s service who tried to keep up alone with all orders. Given the fact that we were in Italian place, food was far from being acceptable, you can find cheap positions but even the more expensive positions don’t meet expectations. We paid 100 EUR for a really disappointing dinner, we didn’t have much expectations but surprisingly the standard was way lower than advised on google or TripAdvisor. Please keep in mind that if you want to have decent food, it’s not the place.

02/11/2023: There is only one term to describe the goodness of the dishes eaten: DELICIOUS!!!! feeling the flavor of every single fish in every single bite is no small feat, in fact only a few manage to do it and here you can be on the safe side. Very fresh fish accompanied by excellent wines and welcoming and friendly table service. Super TOP!!!!

31/10/2023: Very authentic food, in a small rustic restaurant by the harbor. All in all, we felt very comfortable and all four of us were happy, full and satisfied. Absolutely to suggest!

07/04/2024: I expected More Based on Reviews My husband and I were very disappointed. Despite positive reviews, our dishes were cold with congealed sauces( the mushroom piles looked like animal droppings!), and service was unfriendly. The nearly empty restaurant didn’t help the atmosphere. The redeeming qualities were the view and a good wine list. However, paying over $100 for two dishes and wine for two didn't feel worth it given the food and service quality. Left feeling let down and would not recommend to anyone.

26/03/2024: Unique experience with truly professional hospitality and service. Fantastic environment where dining was a pleasure. Artfully designed dishes with extraordinary flavors and compositions. We ate truly one-of-a-kind dishes and it was really enjoyable. Price is normal for that type of cuisine and good value for money. Congratulations to the chef who really deserves to be starred.
