13/04/2026: Evening of September 21, 25. We're about to go in and the waitress points to two tables to choose from. A guy, I assume the owner, interrupts, desperate for attention. He tells me everything is already full and booked (I see two out of three tables free). Then he starts making jokes about everyone's physical characteristics. I ask him: "Will you make us pizza in the end or not?" With a smug air, he peremptorily points to a table that isn't one of the two the waitress indicated. Almost as if he were offering us charity! I signal to my wife for us to leave. The freak stammers that he was joking. "No, dear, learn to behave and then we'll see." For the record: just a few steps away, we find another pizzeria where we were very happy. And since you're acting so Superman-esque, comment on my review, because you must remember the episode well. It's been six months, but I haven't seen any comments from Superman. It's easier to respond when everything went well.

14/04/2026: A must-visit in La Spezia! We spent a wonderful evening at Picchio Rosso. The waitress was absolutely amazing—attentive, smiling, always available without ever being intrusive. We felt truly welcome from the moment we walked in; that's rare and makes all the difference. As for the food, it's simply exceptional. Fresh ingredients, authentic flavors, Italian cuisine as you dream of. Every dish was a wonderful surprise. A welcoming restaurant, fantastic staff, delicious food—we highly recommend it to anyone visiting La Spezia!

14/05/2026: I would like to express our great disappointment regarding our meal at your restaurant. The beef I ordered was cold and had a sour, bitter taste. Honestly, it gave the impression that the meat was spoiled. My children’s lasagna was also served cold, which is unacceptable for dishes served at the table. As for my wife’s pasta, it was simply average, nothing more. We are very disappointed with this experience and hope that you will take this feedback seriously.

19/04/2026: A gem of a restaurant. We were almost amazed to find such superior quality. We often visit the Ligurian coast and have had lunch and dinner at excellent restaurants. Meri 1956, without offending anyone, surpasses them all, from the presentation of the dishes to the quality of the ingredients used, to the unique execution. Our enthusiastic compliments to the chef and the lady who served the dishes, also for the suggestions on the excellent wine served. Thank you, we had a wonderful time.

12/04/2026: We didn't stay at the hotel, but we had lunch. Beautiful restaurant, with great attention to detail. Excellent service, very low noise, a menu with original dishes, and a slightly expensive price, but adequate for the quality. You'll leave feeling happy and relaxed.

04/12/2025: First time I went there... lunch for employees and management... about 40 people divided between two floors... I had some doubts, but the service was efficient, the food excellent... (the ravioli exceptional), white and red wines from a local producer... everything really good. I don't know the price, but I think it was reasonable. I recommend it.

23/05/2026: Perfect service! Perfect dish! Perfect setting. Very, very good. It was a very, very good experience for me. It's not on the main street, so it's quiet. I had a beautiful seafood platter with sea bream and a mix of shellfish. It was all very fresh. The dessert was very good: profiteroles.

26/04/2026: We had a wonderful time. Everything was perfect! The menu is small, but all the dishes are undoubtedly excellent and gluten-free for those with allergies or intolerances! We ordered the trofie al pesto! The pasta was perfectly cooked, the pesto had a lovely basil flavor, was just the right amount of salt, and the optional Parmesan on top was also delicious. After finishing your meal, you can mop up the sauce with some good bread. And the dessert was amazing! Not to mention the excellent service. The waiter was welcoming, smiling, and incredibly kind—a rare quality indeed. The prices are more than reasonable. Thank you for this lovely experience.

10/05/2026: We received a very poor welcome in a large, empty, and cold room. A very unfriendly person curtly informed us that everything was reserved. After a delicious two-hour meal at the trattoria, which I highly recommend, there were still empty tables for two in this restaurant—appalling! In short, avoid this place!

05/05/2026: My husband and I fell in love with this restaurant. Excellent ingredients, cooked simply and respectfully. The staff is very kind and attentive to their guests, pampering them with their delicacies. The view of the Fishermen's Square is an added bonus! Highly recommended.
