A charming restaurant in the narrowest streets of Levanto with a unique specialty. Very pleasant!

We've been going to Levanto for many years and recently discovered Totano Blu, eating there several times. Yesterday, there were eight of us, and the food was good. The spaghetti frutti di mare, which was our main reason for going, was delicious, and the portion was generous. The other dishes (we each had a starter and a main course) were rather small, so not everyone was completely satisfied. However, that's not why I'm only giving it three stars overall. We were looking forward to a nice evening, but we didn't feel very welcome. We asked for more bread a couple of times, which we did receive, but with a rather unfriendly attitude. We would have liked to order wine, but most of the wines were sold out, and we only had the choice between house wine at €22 per liter and wines starting at €35 per bottle. We opted for the house wine, which really didn't taste good. We've never complained about a wine before and certainly aren't known for being picky, but this wine was simply unacceptable. Since we didn't want to order wine for €35, we ordered two more bottles of water, which were never brought. We were really thirsty. When paying, I was told again what a great house wine it supposedly was. It was as if I had no idea. Aside from the sometimes small portions, the criticism isn't directed at the food or the friendly cook, but solely at the service, which should really be about being a good host and making guests' stay pleasant. I would have appreciated an alternative after complaining about the wine. For example: "I'm sorry you didn't like the wine, could I perhaps offer you another drink? We also have..." Instead, we were made to feel like we were strange and didn't know what we were talking about. It wasn't a pleasant experience. Afterwards, I read the reviews, and the negative ones were often met with accusations and strange justifications. I find it regrettable that this criticism is not being taken seriously. I would be pleased if you could accept this criticism as constructive. I truly don't want to cause you any harm, but our dinner yesterday was not a pleasant experience, and it wasn't due to the taste of the food. Good hospitality begins with good service. The guest, even if you don't particularly like them, pays to be treated well. We were certainly not rude guests who deserved such treatment. One of the servers was completely unmotivated and annoyed by every order, some of which were then forgotten. The manager had an arrogant attitude towards us, which made us feel uncomfortable. I hope you won't respond in the curt and insulting manner you usually use when criticizing, but will actually consider the matter. Another guest, who wrote a somewhat more emotional post immediately after the experience, was insulted by you, accused of trying to fill his stomach cheaply, of setting a bad example for his children, and of us all being unfriendly. We weren't unfriendly; we were simply taken aback. What kind of defamatory answer is that?! I still wish you all the best!

We had dinner as a couple on a Friday evening, and we won't soon forget it! The atmosphere was very warm and comfortable, and the service was attentive. We ate wonderfully: a shared appetizer of creamed cod, delicious yet light, followed by spaghetti flambé with seafood, a hearty, authentic first course, rich in seafood and beautifully presented. In short, we loved it. The wine list is also excellent; a place to recommend.

This is a truly wonderful place; I've definitely made a point of returning and reselling everything here. It's truly delicious, heartwarming, and downright inspiring! Special thanks for the most unusual dessert—just the way we like it—not sweet, but rather spicy. Amazing! Homemade limoncello from a secret bottle hidden under the counter, if the owner likes you. We're lucky!
