30/10/2025: It was cold outside, so I ate inside the stylish restaurant. Even though I arrived alone and in hiking clothes, the staff was very friendly. I was given a table by the window with a sea view and had a very good meal.

24/01/2026: Trattoria La Lanterna - A must-try in Genoa! Incredible seafood first courses: the seafood tagliolini and the ones with clams and bottarga have a unique seafood flavor. The fried calamari and anchovies are light and delicious. The atmosphere is pleasant, with elegant decor and extremely friendly staff. The house wine (slightly sparkling) also gets top marks. I'll definitely be back.

19/08/2025: A small restaurant along the Aurelia road, near the Sestri train station. Tasty food, especially seafood, and excellent minestrone soup. Moderate prices.

19/08/2025: As indicated by the 5-star rating for the food, it's definitely a place where you eat well. Even if it's quite expensive. That said, I find it incredible that the atmosphere is so neglected. No ventilation (and I don't even mean air conditioning). The bathroom is dirty and old, and within a single evening, it practically became a stinking latrine. Tradition and history are one thing. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't give the place dignity. And respect our customers.

30/07/2025: The place is noisy and the service is rather slow. The appetizers are excellent, the first courses are average.

02/03/2026: Personally, I wasn't satisfied, as it's a place almost on the sea. I would have expected more choice in fish-based first courses. I had the Genoese ravioli with meat sauce, which I have to say were good quality but overcooked. For the second course, the grilled prawns, however, I had the impression they were frozen, they didn't have a good consistency and were all mushy. I really liked the dessert, even though it's difficult to get the torta della nonna wrong.

13/01/2026: On our second, completely unplanned visit, Le Cicale in Città has undeniably established itself as one of Genoa's top seafood destinations. We returned almost instinctively, and it was a rewarding choice: a simply exceptional amberjack tartare, impeccable in its quality of ingredients, balanced seasoning, and crisp flavor. A simple, elegant dish that speaks of the sea with great precision. This was followed by a second course of equally high-quality fish, cooked with expert technique and rare sensitivity, where every element was perfectly placed. A decisive added value was the service: attentive, competent, and never intrusive, capable of accompanying the experience without weighing it down. But above all, we must mention Chef Costa, who personally presented the dishes to us: a gesture that is anything but predictable, conveying passion, awareness of his work, and respect for the customer. When the chef puts his face—and his words—on what arrives on the table, the perceived quality grows even further. What's striking, when you return, is the continuity of excellence: not a one-off success, but a clear and consistent approach, rigorously maintained. A relaxed atmosphere, great attention to detail, and that rare feeling of being in exactly the right place. Le Cicale in Città isn't just an excellent restaurant: it's a sure thing. And when a place impresses even more on a second visit, especially an unplanned one, it's truly hit the mark. Highly recommended.

08/12/2025: I had already dined at this restaurant about a year and a half ago and was thrilled: carefully prepared dishes, balanced flavors, and an overall excellent experience. Unfortunately, my husband's birthday dinner turned out to be a huge disappointment. • Fritto misto: excessively greasy, difficult to enjoy. • Monkfish: so salty it was inedible, so much so that I had to send it back and receive an apology from the kitchen. • Fish soup: spectacularly presented in bread, but the contents were a blended cream without even a single piece of whole fish. • Scallops: served on a bed of cold broccoli, accompanied by unpleasant-tasting guanciale. A real shame, because I remembered this place as a benchmark for quality cuisine. This time, however, every dish fell short of expectations and ruined a special occasion.

The homemade pesto lasagna is a must-try, and the catch of the day was fresh and cooked beautifully. I highly recommend this place. The price and quality are fair. See you next time ☺️
