12/03/2026: We had dinner 2 times out of 4 nights stay. The grilled seabass was my favourite dish. Had seafood risotto and seafood spaghetti both were also very fresh and yummy.

Excellent selection, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a friendly chef who goes around the tables asking if everything is okay and explaining his dishes with great enthusiasm. You can tell he cares and is very friendly. Everything was good. Well done, we'll be back.

01/06/2026: In Bordighera Alta, where the setting itself invites you to slow down, La Gritta Bordigotta offers simple, measured seafood cuisine, without unnecessary complications. The menu isn't overwhelming: just a few dishes, well-focused. And for me, that's already a plus. I prefer a short, thoughtful menu to endless ones that often lose the cuisine's identity. I started with the raw fillet of the catch of the day: clean, fresh ingredients, showcased without overshadowing them. A seemingly simple dish, because when working with raw fish, the quality of the fish must speak for itself. And here it does. For my second course, I chose the mupa fillet, prepared with the same logic: linear cuisine, respect for the product, and clear flavors. There's no pursuit of special effect, but rather an attention to the ingredients that is visible and, above all, tasted in the quality of the dish. As a gourmet, I also treated myself to dessert: dark chocolate fondant with pistachio ice cream. A delicious, intense, yet balanced finish. A pleasant, yet not overpowering finish. For the pairing, I chose a Greco di Tufo DOCG – Cantine di Marzo dal 1647. A well-structured white wine from Campania, fresh and savory, with a pleasant mineral and citrus note. Cantine di Marzo recommends that this Greco be aged on its lees for at least seven months, which contributes to its complexity and body. With the raw fish and mupa, it proved to be a perfect pairing: upright enough to cleanse the palate, yet with enough substance to accompany the main course as well. Overall, a very pleasant experience: a few dishes, good ingredients, simple yet thoughtful cuisine. One of those tables where you don't feel like the fish is over-interpreted, but rather respected. And for me, when it comes to seafood, that's an important quality.

10/05/2026: We went for dinner during the Alpine national gathering, and immediately returned the following evening. The seafood was excellent, the service excellent, and the staff were friendly and polite, even recognizing us the following day as we passed by. Highly recommended!

12/07/2026: We spent a wonderful day at Bagni Aurelia in Cavi di Lavagna. The beach is meticulously maintained, with everything neat and tidy, leaving nothing to chance. The loungers are very comfortable and feature a convenient built-in cushion. There are several relaxation areas with tables, both directly on the beach and in the upper section, where there's also a lovely pool. I also forgot my towel, but no problem: we were able to rent one directly from the facility, a truly convenient service. The staff was always friendly and helpful. The price is absolutely reasonable for the services offered. We also appreciated the option of adding insurance, which reimburses your reservation in the event of rain, for just €1.84: a truly useful idea. The facility is also easy to reach by train, and there are several paid parking lots nearby. We'll definitely be back, and next time we'll try the food, as the dishes we saw being served looked truly inviting. Highly recommended!

29/07/2026: The mixed fried fish is amazing, fresh and delicious, as is the octopus salad. There's a small air-conditioned room next to the restaurant where you can enjoy the dishes on site. The service is quick and friendly.

16/07/2026: Today for work I stopped for lunch at this restaurant. I must say that the premises are welcoming, with an open kitchen, well-organized and clean, and the restrooms are also very tidy and clean. As soon as we entered, they let us choose a table and with much patience they seated us. We chose the appetizer of cured meats and cheeses with sgabei. The cured meat was excellent, and the cheese was also excellent and very fresh. The sgabei were slightly too crunchy, but they had a good flavor, and the fried fish was dry. You can easily opt for a single dish because the portions are truly generous. For the second course, we chose mixed fried seafood, which I'd say was delicious, with a dry and crunchy coating, and also a very generous portion. As a digestif, a lemon sorbet. The service was attentive and very courteous, and despite the tables being sold out, it was very quick. They offer several menus at different price points, from tourist, to workers, and finally à la carte. Recommended place at reasonable prices

19/04/2026: A gem of a restaurant. We were almost amazed to find such superior quality. We often visit the Ligurian coast and have had lunch and dinner at excellent restaurants. Meri 1956, without offending anyone, surpasses them all, from the presentation of the dishes to the quality of the ingredients used, to the unique execution. Our enthusiastic compliments to the chef and the lady who served the dishes, also for the suggestions on the excellent wine served. Thank you, we had a wonderful time.

19/08/2025: As indicated by the 5-star rating for the food, it's definitely a place where you eat well. Even if it's quite expensive. That said, I find it incredible that the atmosphere is so neglected. No ventilation (and I don't even mean air conditioning). The bathroom is dirty and old, and within a single evening, it practically became a stinking latrine. Tradition and history are one thing. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't give the place dignity. And respect our customers.

26/05/2026: The wait was too long, and the service was poor and disorganized! (For example, they didn't give us a plate to throw away the mussel shells.) The prices were high. It's no longer the place it once was, which is a shame! I don't recommend it.

07/07/2026: A welcoming restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. The dishes are generous, carefully crafted, and prepared with quality ingredients. We chose to share the seafood spaghetti because the portion was generous, and it turned out excellent. The mixed fried calamari was also excellent: crispy, flavorful, and very filling. The quality-price ratio is absolutely excellent. Also noteworthy is the attentive and professional service, and the very kind waiters, who made us feel welcome. A very positive experience: we will definitely return and recommend it to anyone looking for good seafood and generous portions.
