11/10/2025: Fantastic Stay at Grand Hotel Portovenere! 🌊 I've just had the most magical 3-night stay at the Grand Hotel Portovenere, and I'm already dreaming of going back! This place is an absolute gem, set in a beautifully restored 17th-century convent right on the water's edge. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Their kindness and passion for the region truly made our trip special. The food was a highlight every single day. Dining at the Palmaria Restaurant with its stunning panoramic terrace views was an experience in itself. The cuisine was innovative, fresh, and absolutely delicious—a perfect taste of Liguria! Waking up to the view of the colorful harbor and Palmaria Island from our balcony was unforgettable. The hotel's location is perfect, right in the heart of charming Portovenere and with the ferry to the Cinque Terre literally at your doorstep. If you're looking for a luxurious, romantic, and utterly satisfying escape, look no further. I can't recommend this hotel enough!

14/08/2025: An amazing vacation; calling it a hotel is an understatement given the many activities available thanks to the concierge's invaluable advice. We tried the sunset boat excursion with aperitif and an exclusive boat tour of the Cinque Terre. Needless to say, the location is fantastic for visiting the center and the famous church of San Pietro. Close to excellent restaurants, including the Grand Hotel's own: the Palmaria restaurant. The friendly, helpful staff helped make those days and our stay at the Grand Hotel itself a special memory...thanks again!

My wife and I sat at a beautifully set indoor table and were brought a basket with excellent bread and focaccia. We ordered: mandilli al pesto ravioli au tuccu, Genoese ravioli with meat sauce mixed fried fish sea bass with artichokes lemon sorbet We were very pleased with the excellent quality of the generous dishes and delicious goodies. The staff were welcoming, smiling, competent, professional, friendly, and helpful. The service was attentive and one of the fastest I've ever had, and the prices were fair! 09/11/2025: A wonderful discovery in Ventimiglia! Ristorante La Caravella offers authentic and generous Italian cuisine, using fresh ingredients and perfectly executed recipes. The pasta is homemade, the fish cooked to perfection, and the desserts made on-site. Attentive service, a friendly atmosphere, and very reasonable prices for the quality. An excellent local spot that we always return to with pleasure!

12/08/2025: The hotel is in an excellent location in the center of Diano Marina, easily accessible from both the beach and the streets of the historic town center. The staff is extremely friendly and always available for any occasion. The rooms are very clean, thanks to the equally helpful staff who clean the rooms from top to bottom to ensure guests feel comfortable and relaxed. The waiters in the dining room are very kind and helpful. The food is excellent. Practically everything is clean, with a great view and a convenient location, and the food is very good. I recommend it for anyone looking for an excellent guesthouse at a reasonable price. The family that runs it wants to celebrate the history of the establishment, which has been open under the name "Grande Hotel Paradiso" since 1893. I give it 5 stars.

The lasagna was delicious and good value for money. Beautiful interior and very clean. We'd love to come back next year.

23/11/2025: A Must-Visit Gem in Sori: Edo Bar! ​Edo Bar in Sori is a truly delightful find, and it all starts with the owner. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that the proprietor is such a genuinely nice person—warm, welcoming, and attentive, which sets a wonderful, relaxed tone for the whole dining experience. ​The food itself is absolutely delicious. We opted for the pizzas, and they were outstanding! Perfectly cooked, fresh ingredients, and packed with flavor—easily some of the best pizza we've had recently. ​Beyond the incredible food and hospitality, the space is a huge plus. The venue is spacious enough to comfortably accommodate any size of group, whether you're having an intimate meal or planning a large gathering with friends or family. ​I highly recommend making a stop at Edo Bar. Fantastic hospitality, big space, and truly delicious food make this place a winner!

17/11/2025: We visited on a busy Sunday at lunchtime. The restaurant was very full so service was quite slow because there were so many tablesbto wait on. It's understandable under the circumstances. The food was good. Rustic, home cooking, comfort food in a family institution. It was a nice experience.

Prices are in line with the location, and there's only one real flaw: given the small size of the restaurant, it can be terribly noisy. If you can, eat outside!
