09/08/2025: We visited this restaurant with a local friend, and I must say we were pleasantly surprised: top-quality ingredients and perfect, never boring combinations. The egg and eggplant millefeuille were excellent. We'll definitely be back.

12/08/2025: We decided to stop there on our road trip to have lunch. Arriving in front, we thought for a moment “what place did we end up to??” Because of work on the facade but we still gave it a try and entered the place which somehow looks like a house and a bit old fashioned.
And then, what a surprise! Food was delicious, staff very friendly, helpful, fair price and very good experience.
Basically, if you are looking for fresh, local and quality food, stop by without hesitating!

19/07/2025: Posto intimo in una via vicino al corso principale. Abbiamo cenato nella zona esterna. Servizio veloce, mai invadente. Ottimo il pesce come le cantine proposte nel menù. Il proprietario garbato e simpatico. Consigliato anche a chi vuol semplicemente mangiare una pizza.

02/09/2025: Two truly delightful "light" lunches. We must return in the evening. The marina is in an excellent location. The boat is docked and the restaurant is just steps away. Taranto mussels and Greek salad. Three tasty appetizers: panzanella, octopus, and calamari with mango. Delicious, delicious. And the friendly, enthusiastic, and motivating service. It doesn't hurt. We'll be back at the first opportunity.

09/04/2025: Con i miei amici gastronomi, abbiamo scelto la Locanda dell’Abate a Montescaglioso per un pranzo fuori porta. Siamo stati accolti con grande cordialità, e lo chef e titolare, il signor Giuseppe, ci ha guidati nella scelta dei vini per accompagnare l’esperienza.
L’antipasto di mare ci ha conquistati con il tentacolo di polpo arrosto e le seppie cotte nel mezzo limone, sprigionando profumi delicati e un perfetto equilibrio tra tenerezza e acidità. Il legame con il territorio si è fatto sentire con la cipolla in agro. I ravioli di pesce, avvolti in una salsa di pomodoro leggermente acidula, hanno offerto un contrasto raffinato, mentre i gamberoni in crosta sono stati semplicemente eccellenti.
L’atmosfera raccolta, grazie ai pochi tavoli in sala, ha reso la conversazione piacevole e conviviale. Concludiamo questa esperienza domenicale con un plauso allo chef Giuseppe per l’ottima organizzazione e la qualità delle portate. Torneremo presto!

29/07/2025: Pessima esperienza in un ambiente trascuratissimo, con prezzi alle stelle ma qualità di livello Fastfood. Cameriera che propone solo i piatti più costosi ma che poi ti portano delle porzioni ridicole con pochissima carne/pesce e un sacco di patate surgelate.
27/07/2025: I've had dinner there several times, the pizza is delicious, but the fish, from the appetizer to the first and second courses, is excellent.

24/05/2025: Abbiamo mangiato all'aperto, angolino delizioso e piatti tipici, tutto molto buono. Servizio impeccabile e silenzioso, peccato...credevo ci fosse più vista da seduti...ma basta affacciarsi che la splendida Matera appare in tutta la sua bellezza.

They welcome and pamper you from arrival to departure. The dishes are more than delicious. From the mixed seafood appetizer, a selection of seafood delicacies, all cooked, to dessert, including traditional Italian dishes like linguine allo scoglio or risotto. The only drawback is the portions are seriously oversized, even the liqueur, which others usually give you at most a finger in miniature glasses, here becomes at least two fingers in large glasses.
17/08/2025: Terrible..... extremely long waiting times between the starter and the main course, almost two hours.....it felt like we were at a wedding..... never again

10/07/2025: The restaurant was recommended to me by a local lady. As soon as I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised by the interior, which contrasted sharply with the anonymous and barren exterior. The interior is furnished with older pieces, which nevertheless give it a homey, welcoming, and warm feel. The walls are lined with shelves filled with wine bottles. The table setting is simple and refined. The food was very good, beautifully presented... but I was disappointed not to be able to finish the dinner
with a homemade dessert.

26/08/2025: A total disappointment. High prices that don't match the quality of the dishes. The overcooked tagliata tasted like a thin slice of meat, and the lemon scallops tasted nothing like lemon... the baked potatoes were just boiled potatoes... the Matera appetizer was disappointing... two slices of cured meat and the rest were pickles, so sad. All at an insane price...
11/08/2025: Horrible! We ordered a veal fillet and a lemon veal scallops. While waiting, I called the waiter and was informed that my fillet didn't actually exist, only a rib eye from some animal. After almost two and a half hours of unnerving waiting and constant complaints, I received a thin slice of meat that was nothing but FAT and the scallops were disgusting. I don't recommend it, but if you're a thrill-seeker, try it.

23/06/2025: Poor quality of poke, tempura shrimps without any flavor and rubbery, not to mention the salmon definitely frozen. The worst poke of my life!!
