02/06/2026: I was persuaded by the reviews. I couldn't fault some appetizers, like the seafood salad or the octopus tentacle. As for the stuffed mussels, they were three mussels, too stuffed and didn't taste like mussels. The shrimp tails were the same, so you eat little or nothing. We wanted to try the brodetto experience, but we were disappointed. The tomato wasn't cooked enough, the brodetto didn't taste like fish, and the fish seemed to have been thrown in at the last minute. Just enough time to cook...

28/05/2026: From the outside, it looks like a bar, but behind it, there's a small room with a few tables where they serve a seafood menu. You can choose between two first courses and two second courses, plus appetizers based on the daily produce. Both the appetizers and the grilled fish are excellent. The seafood tagliatelle are good, but the sauce isn't as good as the tagliatelle, which is very smooth and doesn't hold the sauce—a shame, otherwise it would be a 5. Excellent service.

The pizza is always well cooked and very good; it's the best place to eat pizza.

25/05/2026: From the phone call to make the reservation to the end of the meal, I can say this experience was unique.
This trabocco seats a maximum of 10 people and is open by reservation only, which is why the quality of the food is excellent.
The menu, thanks to its authenticity, changes daily based on the catch. We ate several appetizers, both hot and cold (the squid with chickpea cream was amazing), a first course and a second course (a spectacular sea bream steak), and dessert to finish. The meal lasted over 3 hours, especially considering the express dishes.
Outwardly gruff, but in reality a whimsical entertainer, Mario is a skilled host who pays attention to his guests. His hospitality, combined with the "home" cooking (truly open to the public!) and the undisputed quality of the ingredients, make this a must-visit for seafood lovers and tasting menus.

21/05/2026: What an experience! The location is fabulous, what a spectacle! It overlooks a beautiful beach with both the Maiella and Gran Sasso mountains in the background. The limited seating allows for both the attention to detail and the service. Mario is the soul of the trabocco and a wealth of information. He's a great entertainer and truly friendly and helpful. The heart of the trabocco is in the kitchen, and they truly work hard to satisfy their guests with excellently prepared and delicious dishes. You should set aside at least three hours for the experience, and it's best to arrive on an empty stomach. It's definitely worth it.

07/04/2025: I stopped at this restaurant on the way home, choosing it randomly while we were on the move.
A bit of a wait (which they made up for with amazing mussels).
The staff were very friendly, the food was fresh and above average, and my dog was welcome. No one in the family of five had any complaints.
If I ever return to the area, I'll definitely make a point of trying their famous "brodetto."
The price was fair for the quality.

03/04/2026: Hostaria dal Pavone isn't a dinner. It's a wonderful journey.
Dishes that seem simple and then captivate you at first bite: clear contrasts, unexpected pairings, and ingredients that speak for themselves. From the initial raw ingredients (very fresh, clean, and without any need to hide) to the tortelli, where sweetness and savory intertwine in an almost arrogant way.
Each course has a precise identity. No fillers, no "homework": here, the focus is truly on the game.
A round of applause for the chef and the entire team: there's technique, but above all, a clear vision. And it shows.
Special mention also for the service: present without being intrusive, knowledgeable, with that naturalness that makes you feel right at home without the need for embellishments.
It's one of those places where you understand there's more than just good food.
If you want to be surprised, this is the place.

10/01/2026: Three of us went to lunch in August. I had seafood risotto and seafood salad. Around 8 p.m., I started feeling really sick, something I'd never experienced in my entire life. I vomited six times until 3 a.m., after which I decided to go to the emergency room. My friend had the same experience; the only difference, fortunately for him, was diarrhea. I'd like to point out that you can't sell spoiled or substandard food, because that way you're poisoning people. It may have been a coincidence, but I won't be going back there again; I care about my health.
29/08/2025: Very friendly staff. Excellent value for money. Good portions. Outdoor area cleaned immediately after use, but table layout could be improved.

Very fair prices, good first courses, delicious fried food, and excellent white wine by the glass.
Really pleasant location, no problem even when we were with our dog. Highly recommended.

04/04/2026: Poor appetizers, hot appetizer served cold, overcooked tagliolini, poorly cleaned mussels... I'm sorry because the owner cares... but the cuisine is truly at a low level, absolutely not in line with the excessively high prices compared to the quality of the cuisine.
