20/11/2025: I was passing through Verona and was looking for a place to have a quiet lunch, perhaps something traditional. My Google Maps search found Osteria Dogana Vecia, which immediately inspired me, so I decided to give it a try. I showed up without a reservation and, fortunately, found a table. The menu doesn't offer a wide variety of dishes, but the selection is "traditional." I decide to order the ricotta gnocchi with truffle cream, which turns out to be soft, tasty, and satisfying. I'm hungry, and since it looks like a long day, I also dive into the second course of the chicken alla scaligera. Another pleasant surprise that I'm positively impressed with, even though I'm not a fan of raisins. I skipped dessert because there's a limit to everything, but even then, the offer was tempting. I get up, pay €36, and leave, complimenting myself on the excellent lunch. I'm more than satisfied with the meal and the experience at the restaurant. Highly recommended. Thank you very much!

02/12/2025: Franca is a rare host, Luigi is an equally exceptional waiter. It's one of those Italian trattorias worthy of WWF protection. Truly traditional, with a few unusual dishes, but exceptional nonetheless. We'll be back soon!

01/12/2025: A lovely Sunday lunch. The dining room on the first floor is very welcoming. The food is delicious, and the wine is excellent. The dessert deserves an honorable mention: the sbrisolona with cream was excellent! Signora Franca was very friendly; we'll be happy to return!

14/01/2026: Being in the area, I tried this place again, never mind! The food was bad, cold, noisy, and the interior was dimly lit and old. The service was very slow. I thought, given the renovations to the veranda, they'd have completely remodeled it as well... Nothing, nothing, I was satisfied with.

03/03/2026: Today I went to this place with a friend for lunch. I ordered bigoi with sardines, but instead they got bigoi with duck, and the meatballs were sour. I was wrong not to complain right away. After thinking about the bill, I decided to write this review.

15/02/2026: Antico Guelfo was quite disappointing. Although the restaurant was not at all full, we waited a very long time – both to be served, to be able to order, and then to get our food. The overall waiting experience was really too long and unnecessary. The food was good, but nothing special or worth the wait. The biggest disappointment was the toilet – instead of a classic toilet bowl, there is a squat toilet, and the area around it was dirty and full of urine, which left an extremely unpleasant impression. For all of the above, I would not return. If you really have no other option to eat, it is okay, but I would not recommend it.

25/01/2026: Dinner at Antico Guelfo was excellent! The dishes we tasted were truly well-crafted: the crostini with cod was beautifully balanced and flavorful, the linguine with creamed ramp tops, scampi, and crusco peppers were truly memorable and perfectly balanced. The service was excellent: attentive, professional, and yet discreet, making you feel at ease without being intrusive. The recommended wine pairing was also excellent, well-suited to the dishes and well-explained. A restaurant that combines quality cuisine, attention to detail, and a warm welcome. Highly recommended.

23/12/2025: I received a half hour burnt pizza? I called the waiter and told her how to get a burnt black pizza delivered. It had never happened to me in other pizzerias. Anyway, I had it changed and the one they brought me was a bit rubbery. We're not there yet.

13/02/2026: I've only tried the restaurant, where the service and food quality are truly top-notch. Kudos to the lady in the dining room who recommended the perfect wine to pair with the bigoli with cod, which were delicious. This is one of the finest examples of Italian style in dining. Well done. I'll definitely be back.

11/12/2025: This restaurant is certified for its cod; you'll find it in every dish, and they even give you the chance to try it first. The food was good, but we weren't overly impressed, perhaps because of the menu's offerings.

01/03/2026: I recommend this restaurant to everyone... Despite the pizza chef's young age, Paolo is the king of pizza 🍕 🍕 🍕 in my opinion he has no equal... kudos to all the staff who make lunches and dinners unique...
