06/01/2026: I am happy to share this experience I had on 12/14/25. Lunch in Perugia, we chose Peppone, we started with excellent fried artichokes, but then the disaster a cacio e pepe was requested and here a total disaster.... pecorino cheese was missing, butter was present, pepper was 90% missing, a disaster it looked like pasta and butter.... I called and expressed my discomfort... it was brought away with a dish that was 90% still uneaten.... and on the bill I was MADE TO PAY..... REALLY SHAMEFUL.... but you can offer a cacio e pepe like this and mostly try to apologize by saying that not everyone likes pepper.... but if this dish is like this.... what do you want to change..... I repeat, shame on you, I learned cooking before managing restaurants and if a dish is disputed and not consumed, have the decency, like almost everyone else, to remove it from the bill....

30/12/2025: Under the new management, the restaurant has taken off culinaryally. We tried five different pasta dishes, including: cacio e pepe, tagliatelle with truffle, umbricelli alla norcina, chitarroni alla norma, and ravioli with butter and sage—all truly delicious and flavorful. I recommend a mixed platter as an appetizer, washed down with a glass of Grechetto. Super fair pricing. Highly recommended.

08/08/2025: The bartender is truly the best, there are few like him, professionalism and friendliness in the choice of products, compliments to the staff!!!

16/02/2026: This restaurant is located in Perugia's Quattrotorri Hotel. The restaurant is large, elegant, and clean, with soft lighting and well-spaced tables. All the dishes we tried were delicious. Unfortunately, the service was the only downside to a lovely evening. We felt abandoned and neglected. Despite the staff's kindness, the service was very, very slow (we waited far too long for our food).

17/01/2026: We dined here two nights. Everything was excellent, except for the very poor and disappointing service, which you'd never expect to find in a restaurant of this caliber. Table service was extremely slow, and the wait staff was repeatedly rude and unprofessional.

The restaurant is located in a quaint alley, and having lunch or dinner there makes everything even more special, with that typical atmosphere of the historic center that makes you feel immersed in the city. Every course I tried was truly excellent, from the starter to the dessert, with a perfect balance of flavor and tradition. The staff is welcoming and helpful, always ready to recommend the house specialties with warmth and friendliness. Even when I went to eat there, I immediately felt at ease, and I would definitely return. In short, Osteria da Santu Mangione is highly recommended for those who want to enjoy traditional Umbrian cuisine in a rustic and authentic setting, with impeccable service and memorable dishes. 🍝🍷✨

01/01/2026: Welcoming place. Authentic cuisine, featuring traditional Umbrian dishes, with an eye for local products. Exceptional prosciutto, as was the peasant-style lamb. Attentive and helpful service, even though the place was packed. Paolo, the owner, was, as always, a pleasant and friendly person.

12/10/2025: The pizza is really delicious, and it's not at all heavy, even when ordered with slightly more sophisticated ingredients. Fast service and a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The desserts are also excellent, so I can only leave a great review.

02/02/2026: Chronologically, starting with the food. It must be said quite clearly that the most capable man in this establishment is the chef. The service would love to recapture the glory of bygone years. Unfortunately, it's just as outdated as the wine glasses. Wine service isn't a priority here. Guests are expected to help themselves if they wish to enjoy their wine. The ambiance is a complete panorama of 1980s elegance – certainly Grand Novel Cuisine back then. Today it looks much the same, a bit dated, but nonetheless possessing an elegant charm. All in all, worth a visit.

05/01/2026: Two of us went for lunch yesterday, and it was admittedly a bit late—it was around 2:20 PM—so I understand we had to order quickly. The waiter who took our order didn't write down what we ordered, and more importantly, he was busy making the other order while he was taking our order. The result was that we ordered an appetizer and two entrees, but they only brought us one appetizer and one entree. We ate in a hurry, and the waiter couldn't wait to clear the table. We paid a lot for what we ate. When you decide to go out for a meal, take out a mortgage first.

11/01/2026: Quality meat. Very nice atmosphere, but unfortunately the dining room was poorly heated. We ordered a Florentine steak, which we'd asked for about 1 kg for two, but ended up paying 1.6 kg. This could be clarified further.

04/01/2026: OVERRATED! Terrible experience! The tartare, made who knows how long ago, was very thinly sliced ​​and of poor quality, it looked like shredded meat. The lamb... forget it! Everything was cooked and served with little passion... I had to ask for salt, oil, and lemon to flavor the dishes. This isn't for everyone... because their friends and relatives are treated differently!! Service and courtesy were completely absent!!! After finishing the main course, they came to ask us if we wanted anything else after an hour. I went to pay and disturbed them while they were eating standing up. Furthermore, I paid more than what we consumed. I repeat: OVERRATED!

02/01/2026: We came to this restaurant for Umbria Jazz and had a truly wonderful time. The restaurant is perfect in every way: food, service, location, and decor, everything is meticulously designed. We also chose something off the menu: lentils with sausage, which were truly excellent. The polenta with wild boar, porcini mushrooms, and sausage was simply heavenly. Finally, the desserts: berry tart and tiramisu, both excellent. A truly positive experience: we'll definitely be back. Highly recommended!

28/12/2025: A trattoria in the heart of the historic center, where you can enjoy traditional Umbrian and Tuscan dishes, revisited and beautifully presented...not to mention delicious. All in a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere, with a huge fireplace where meat and soups are cooked in front of you. Beautiful. Always top notch!

12/01/2026: Very, very bad food and service. When we arrived they told us they served food till 23.00. We tried to order and no pizza available anymore, while 10 people around us still got served their pizza. That means no hospitality and heart for the customer. Because we were hungry we ordered beef with fries. Disgusting. First we asked for rare meat but it was completely uncooked. Then we asked to recook it and it was basically rubber. The meat was also of very low quality. Muscles inside the beef all along. If you want to have a good dinner, never ever go here. They will rip you off your money and their customer service is bad.

05/05/2025: Horrible servicio. No nos sentaron porque no teníamos reservas. Así que salí, hice una reserva en línea y volví y les dije que tenía reservas. Nos sentaron, pero estaban claramente molestos. Esto es a pesar de que el restaurante nunca estuvo más de 2 / 3 lleno. El servicio era extremadamente lento, sacaban las cosas a diferentes horas, etc. Además, la comida era promedio, en el mejor de los casos. No muy sabroso. Gran decepción.
