22/07/2026: A wonderful experience in Riva del Garda. A historic restaurant in a magnificent setting. The dishes were excellent, both the first and second courses, with meticulous attention to detail in both the presentation and execution. The fruit gelato was a truly perfect finale. It's a shame the outdoor seating is in the middle of a sea of ​​tourists. The price is more than fair.

14/06/2026: Simply superb!!! Excellent food, very good service, reasonably priced, but not "cheap".

13/06/2026: We had lunch outside in a quiet, breezy, and peaceful square. The waitress, sincerely and genuinely courteous, served us impeccably. The wait times were compatible with the dishes ordered, and all eight diners were served simultaneously. The menu was well-structured, without overdoing the selection, yet capable of satisfying everyone's needs, from children to greedy adults. Perfectly fried, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, dry, and didn't "wet" the paper on the plate. The paccheri with fish sauce were good, a little overcooked, but it's a matter of taste. The gnocchi were fabulous, as was the spaghetti with meatballs. The breading on the children's cutlets was one of the best I've ever tasted. The tiramisu was perfectly balanced, with the coffee not overpowering the cocoa and the soft yet consistent cream. The cheesecake was equally good. Prices were reasonable for the location and the quality of the ingredients. The place was clean, as were the bathrooms. Recommended stop for lunch or dinner away from the chaos of the alleys.

09/08/2026: CELIAC and VEGETARIAN Review Impeccable experience: - incredible attention to celiac disease ✅ all dishes on the menu are gluten-free (or can be made gluten-free) ✅ they serve homemade gluten-free bread (3 different types, including one with carrots), truly excellent! ✅ no fear of cross-contamination ✅ extremely knowledgeable staff when it comes to gluten-free options (everyone knows which dishes on the menu are gluten-free, when the dishes arrive at the table it's clear which dish is suitable for celiacs, etc.) - very wide selection of vegetarian dishes ✅ several dishes are already vegetarian ✅ the staff themselves, knowing I was vegetarian, pointed out all the dishes on the menu that could be made vegetarian with a few modifications (much appreciated!) Just two notes, which I hope will be helpful: (!) Vegan options: I'm not sure about the availability of vegan options. If so, it would be a nice addition to have a completely plant-based option for each appetizer, first course, and second course, given the great attention already paid to various dietary needs. (!) Menu clarity: personally, I would find it more convenient if the menu listed the allergens for each dish and/or provided labels to indicate what is vegetarian, gluten-free, and (as is customary in some restaurants) what can be made gluten-free. - Beyond that, we ate very well, and the service was excellent. I absolutely recommend it!

05/08/2026: Delicious, superb. Dinner for five, inside (the terrace was too hot yesterday), from appetizers to dessert. It's a shame there was a group of 20, so the wait was incredibly long. But it was worth it!

10/08/2026: It’s been a while since our visit to Riva del Garda, but I recently came across these photos and had to share because we had such a great meal at Osteria Il Gallo. We tried quite a few dishes, which gave us a chance to sample different parts of the menu. The pasta dishes were delicious, including a wonderfully creamy carbonara and fresh tagliatelle with truffle. We also had the grilled fish, which was beautifully prepared and served simply with lemon, as well as the crispy breaded chicken with fries and salad. Everything felt fresh, generous and satisfying, with simple Italian flavors done really well. The cold beer and wine alongside the meal made it even better. A really enjoyable, relaxed meal in Riva del Garda, with plenty of options for different tastes. Looking back at the photos definitely made me want to go back! 🇮🇹🍝

09/08/2026: It was very relaxing sitting at this Osteria, on a charming square. We ordered the sea bass and tagilato di manzo. Both were delicious and of good quality. Our daughter also ate everything down to the last bite.

08/07/2026: A very sweet family-run spot where the host even brought out toys that she kept from when her son was little and gave our kids an option to keep one. Just note: they don’t make polenta at lunch, which was a disappointment, but the goulash with potatoes was still delicious, and it’s a nice quiet setting with patio seating that does not feel like a tourist trap, unlike many other places in that neighborhood.

09/04/2026: We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. Everything was absolutely delicious. We ordered grilled salmon, arctic char (Saibling), and a mixed salad - each dish was perfectly prepared and full of flavour. The portions were surprisingly generous. You truly get great value for money here. Everything was incredibly tasty, and we enjoyed every bite. The service is great! We highly recommend this place and will definitely come back!

25/07/2026: We had a good meal here. The service was friendly and attentive, the pizza was large and very tasty. The Aperol was fine, as was the house white wine. The price for a liter of house wine is a bit high, but the rest of the prices were reasonable. We had a lovely evening.

14/08/2026: Maffei is always worth a visit for us! The food is incredibly delicious, and the menu is extensive. The drinks are always excellent, too. The service is simply first-class. Our waitress, Miky, has been taking wonderful care of us for years and is always there immediately whenever we need anything. Without Miky, we probably would never have discovered Maffei – and without her, something would definitely be missing. ❤️ Our dog is also always welcome. As soon as we arrive, there's fresh water for him – a small gesture we truly appreciate. For us, it's a fantastic restaurant all around, with delicious food, warm service, and a very special atmosphere. We always love coming back! 🇮🇹❤️

10/11/2025: The food is very 'average' - we ate in different restaurants throughout our stay in Riva and the pizza at this restaurant was greasy and the pasta resembled a microwave meal. The food was not fresh. The bread for starters was stale and was served in a brown paper bag...It was more pricey than other restaurants for lower quality food. Very much begrudged paying for our dinner.
