23/11/2025: The hotel is strategically located in Bolzano's historic center, directly overlooking the square where the traditional Christmas markets are held in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Accessible only on foot, the hotel offers paid underground parking, literally steps away. The building is historic, and even inside, you'll find older spaces, such as the entrance, reception, and main staircase, contrasting with completely renovated and modern spaces. The room was spacious, soundproofed, and equipped with many amenities, and was well-maintained and clean. I loved the breakfast room, as well as the breakfast itself, with its wide selection of both sweet and savory options. The hotel also offers lunch and dinner on site, with a fairly varied menu. Guests can also use the spa by reservation, for a price of €20 per person. The staff is very friendly. Highly recommended for a weekend exploring Bolzano and the surrounding area!! 🥰

20/11/2025: We stayed at this splendid hotel in a strategic location, right on Bolzano's main square. We found the rooms spotlessly clean, the spa, and the breakfast room excellent. Excellent service, a varied breakfast. We will definitely be back.

09/12/2025: Crazy, he sent us away because we were 4 minutes early

09/12/2025: We arrive at 11:55 for lunch, we wait for the waiter to ask for a table but we are told in a rather annoyed manner that they have to finish eating/have a meeting and therefore we will have to wait quite a while..... I have never seen a restaurant that opens at 12:00, turn away customers 5 minutes before opening because the employees are busy.

02/12/2025: Excellent hotel, attentive service and reception staff. Strategic location for visiting public attractions, close to the train station. A varied breakfast, excellent food, excellent cleanliness, and friendly staff who cater to guests' needs. I will definitely return. A special thanks to all the staff.

08/11/2025: We went there on November 1st and had pizza for dinner. We have to say that the pizza was really good with all the fresh and quality ingredients! I highly recommend N1 in everything.

20/11/2025: At first glance, it doesn't seem like a great place, but trust me, it's a wonderful discovery! We had a first course that was worthy of a true chef, delicious, and just the right amount of filling! Everything was perfect 👌

17/11/2025: Trattoria la Tana ..via C. SASSI ..67 ..in Groppello Cairoli province of Pavia. In this trattoria you should know that the food is still home-made with truly generous portions prepared with traditional recipes, super seasoned and rich in calories. In a place where you are welcomed with friendliness and lots of warmth and a bit like feeling at home. ..it really feels good and we noticed that many tourists, even foreigners, pass by here..at the table the menu starts with first courses, second courses, side dishes, and desserts, there is little waiting to go to the tables, and outside the restaurant there is a nice free parking..if you arrive by car. I would say that for spending a good day, this is the perfect place in a fairytale village that is wonderfully managed. And the prices are very cheap 20..30 euros.

06/11/2025: A very charming place with meticulous attention to detail! The extensive menu meets expectations... good dishes, but portions are modest. Excellent wines and fairly professional staff! The portions are a bit pricey for my taste, but overall, I recommend it. It's very romantic and comfortable. Try to get a table away from the bar, as barroom discussions can sometimes be annoying.

26/11/2025: It was lunchtime. There were plenty of free tables, but I waited 10 minutes to be shown to my table. After being seated, I waited another 20 minutes for someone to take my order, and when no one paid attention, I left.

17/10/2025: We received excellent service here and had a wonderful dinner. In the evening, the awning was retracted, which gave us another fantastic view of the sky. The service was truly attentive and extremely professional. I had octopus, which was very well done and cooked to perfection. The prices were a bit on the high side, but this is also reflected in the restaurant's style.

12/09/2025: They serve typical mountain cuisine and also pizza. Both are good...the staff is very friendly. I recommend it!!

06/09/2025: We arrived for dinner. The waiters were very friendly, and the place was average. We ordered a platter of cured meats and cheeses. The cured meats were good, but I would have preferred a variety of cheeses. There were only two that weren't bad, but I expected better. We then ordered pizzas. The ortolane were loaded with vegetables (which according to the menu were supposed to be grilled), which wasn't a bad thing, except they looked more like boiled vegetables than grilled. As for the dough, I wasn't expecting anything different; I understand we're in the mountains after all. For dessert, they served profiteroles. I've had better, but it's still a dessert! If you want a simple meal, it's fine. Prices are average.

10/11/2025: The food is very 'average' - we ate in different restaurants throughout our stay in Riva and the pizza at this restaurant was greasy and the pasta resembled a microwave meal. The food was not fresh. The bread for starters was stale and was served in a brown paper bag...It was more pricey than other restaurants for lower quality food. Very much begrudged paying for our dinner.

21/10/2025: Very friendly service, who also speaks several languages. The food was delicious, as you can see from the pictures. We had three pizzas (thin crust but filling), pasta (delicious carbonara, but a bit small), and schnitzel with fries (the schnitzel was crispy and delicious, and the fries weren't overseasoned, fluffy and crispy, with a good texture). In summary, delicious food and good service.

20/12/2025: I left a €50 deposit and had to cancel after 10 minutes due to an error. I called and asked if I could reverse the transaction, and they told me that to get the deposit back, I only had to take €20 because they were keeping €30 for the refund. This doesn't seem normal to me; I've never heard of anything like it.

03/11/2025: Five stars are not enough to rate this place. Staying there was an eleven-star experience! Everything in Gasthof Kohlern invites you to slowly appreciate the beauty of life: the natural environment, with an amazing view of the surrounding mountains; the cuisine, with delicious and refined dishes, the wines, the breakfasts; the simple elegance of the rooms; the peace and quiet; and last but not least, the generous and considerate kindness of the staff.
