16/02/2025: I had already tried the summer menu, completely different from the one found today (February) with all seasonal ingredients. I came with my family, a little skeptical, but when they tried the various dishes they changed their minds, the agnolotti with hemp ricotta and the arancine with beetroot were excellent, but the chocolate cake with a warm heart and pistachio ice cream was something exceptional. Welcoming atmosphere, helpful staff, who guide you in choosing the dishes. Excellent quality ingredients, tasty, well balanced in the various dishes. I recommend it to everyone, regardless of the diet you adopt, it will amaze you.

26/12/2024: Located in the center of lower Modica, but in an alley that guarantees tranquility, it is a place furnished with simple elegance. Cozy, even romantic. The menu is constantly evolving, as is Francesca Barone's traditional and, at the same time, sparkling with imagination cuisine. Very young, without taboos but respectful of the seasonality and territoriality of tradition. In the dining room are sister Carla and her husband, who best manage the attentive service and a cellar full of surprises and distant harvests. Excellent success of the dishes and a quality/price ratio that is difficult to find elsewhere. The tasting menus leave ample freedom of choice and are extremely convenient. Very recommended!
28/09/2024: Absolutely stunning dinner last night with my wife.
We had a shorter version of a tasting menu and really should have gone with the longer one, since every dish was so beautiful, creative, thoughtful and delicious.
Service was just as fantastic as well, our server recommended a phenomenal wine that we absolutely fall in loved with and would never discover otherwise.
You should definitely go and eat here. I can’t recommend this place enough. It was absolutely one of our favorite meals we had in Sicily.

05/01/2025: Superior quality km 0. You can taste the traditional foods of Ragusa, Modica, from appetizers to first courses, then abundant second courses and, last but not least, desserts, all delicious and the service with great kindness.
22/12/2024: Excellent cuisine and service, unfortunately the place is not adequately soundproofed and you eat in the midst of the "noise" if you are unlucky you end up with neighbors at the table, who don't allow you to exchange even a comment on the dishes they serve you, with whoever sits next to you.

I visited this restaurant with high expectations, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing. Although the menu offers a variety of dishes, from fish to meat, the quality of the food did not meet my expectations. The dishes were bland and uncreative, and did not justify the high prices at all.
Furthermore, the restaurant seems more oriented towards tourists, which is reflected in the costs. There are many other restaurants in the area that offer better dishes at more reasonable prices. If you are looking for a good meal, I recommend you look elsewhere.
13/10/2024: Hello, we waited for so long for the food, and the portions are not worth the money, it is expensive and food portion is small and it is nothing extraordinary
And with the reply you can see the quality of people, we didnt ask for any discount, you asked for our opinion and we gave it, we saw the prices and have no problem to pay when quality reach expectations, which in this case was not like that, you are rude saying that I have tapeworm, instead of accepting your kitchen didnt meet the standards to be satisfactory for us, and yes we ate all as after waiting for almost.1 hour we were starving, it wasnt because it was so tasty.
So, I wouldnt recommend thar place, just if you want to be disappointed give it a try.

07/02/2025: We went to this tavern because we had seen the program 4 restaurants and since we were visiting Modica we decided to stop for dinner. The place was super full but the service was very fast, we tasted various typical dishes and I must say that they were very good and inviting, the staff was friendly and kind, we will definitely return.

29/12/2024: Dishes with attention to the smallest details. The steamed cod and crispy octopus with caramelized onion are highly recommended. Super courteous and kind waitress. Before the arrival of the dishes we requested, we were served local breadsticks with local bread and an entrée of panelle with octopus and herb mayonnaise. Less positive was the fact that I paid 8 euros for a cover charge for 2 people and that I paid 12 euros for 2 bitters. In the vast majority of restaurants I found myself in, the bitters are always offered on the house and the fact that they were not offered is more than fair, but paying 12 euros for them seems a bit excessive to me. It is still a place that I highly recommend and to which I would gladly return.

09/02/2025: This restaurant in the countryside of the county of Modica is a real surprise. We tasted the fish menu and the word to describe it is spectacular. Excellent service. Cozy atmosphere just a little too noisy. €40 well spent.
25/01/2025: It would have been good if the mixed grilled fish, the swordfish, and the rustic potatoes weren't very salty. Also in the mixed salad there were pieces of lemon which not everyone likes and needs to be communicated.

05/02/2025: I can highly recommend this place, I had dinner there 4 times and it was very tasty and at a fair price. The menu del giorno is recommended. This is always written on a blackboard. The house wine is also delicious. The bed was always very friendly and competent. I can recommend everyone to eat there.

14/12/2024: Arrived at 1:15 p.m., embarrassed to be the only ones, but received with the beautiful smile and welcome of the waitress. Beautiful wine list at very reasonable prices. We had a blast! And surprise, during our lunch the staff was preparing magnificent Panettone, we had the sight and the scent of brioche. Too bad we only have cabin luggage, otherwise I would have packed up for the family. With the coffee, the boss offered us a piece of brioche: a delight! A rare address open in December which does everything possible to satisfy passing customers. Thank you again for your welcome!

10/02/2025: Subliminal experience in this place with an ancient, beautiful taste that seems to find yourself in a mountain hut, or projected back into the 80s. You notice it immediately at the entrance, the welcome of Gloria and Grazia, wonderful hosts, very empathetic! The food is tasty, the cleanliness is impeccable and the service is super attentive and fast. It was a wonderful surprise on this Monday evening, not at all expected... but nothing is ever by chance. The family story headed by Mr. Minardo, you can read it in the photo. Naturally, after so much beauty of the place and delicious food, we have no doubt: we will always return here!
03/02/2025: Great place, you feel homey and well taken care of, the food is great - we got Rustico L'Arco (perfect!), Cavati with aubergines and tomato; for dessert Biancomangiare and Chocolate cake.

13/10/2024: Great street restaurant in terms of atmosphere. The starter (home made scaccia which is a typical Sicilian dish) was a bit in the dry side which cost them a star from me. As a main we had the Ricotta Ravioli (see picture) which were very yummy. We dared to drink their house red wine which I wouldn’t repeat. Price was very reasonable but we also went very light on the ordering
17/09/2024: We have just returned to our apartment and have just come from the tavern (because! We are indeed not tourists but residents of Sicily. Belgians who have moved in. ) Terrible experience. Downright disgusting.
Starter was cold. Meat did not taste fresh. Slightly warmed up from the previous day as leftovers on our plate. This arrived literally seconds after we ordered. How on earth could this have been prepared???
Main course mixed grill was spoiled, not well done. The only things that went in were the salt-fried potatoes and the bread.
This main course came first, my wife had to wait 10 minutes longer. There was no one inside the restaurant. What if this restaurant is full????
The pasta tasted terrible. Not eaten. Just heated it up in the microwave because we even heard it go off.
The only thing that still went in was our coke and Sprite
Moreover, we paid 47 euros for just coke, sprite, water and bread.
The rest was completely inedible, and we do not understand why this restaurant/tavern has so many good ???? Gets reviews.
Fake?
SO WE WILL NEVER COME BACK and do not recommend this to our Sicilian friends/family.

The fish was fresh and good, although without any particular surprises. The service was a little slow and the environment a little noisy, but all in all it was a pleasant evening. A discreet place for a quiet dinner, without too many pretensions.”

15/12/2024: I'm really sorry, but this time I'm forced to give a negative review: I've been to this place to order something twice, in the first case I ordered a piadina with porchetta, ketchup and mayonnaise...they brought me a piadina with ham without ketchup and without mayonnaise.
In the second case (i.e. today) I had ordered a pizza diavola + chips, they delivered this pizza to me and once I got home I found a very simple devil without chips despite having paid a supplement of €1.50.
