19/01/2025: Raramente recensisco, solo nei casi che la struttura sia o meritevole di nota o in casi pessimi, entrambe situazioni che devono essere evidenziate. In questo specifico caso, con mia sorpresa rientriamo nella prima, meritevole di essere raccontata e raccomandata. Un sabato di gennaio, bassa stagione, intorno le 13,45 per Verbania, decido di pranzare senza prenotare. Entriamo al ristorante, completamente vuoto, chiedendo un tavolo per due. Immediatamente veniamo fatti accomodare. Cortesia, professionalità, i tempi e i modi del personale, in questo caso una giovane donna, sono garbati e coi tempi giusti nel servizio e nel muoversi in sala. Decidiamo per due antipasti: Uovo 63^C con patate, aglio nero, fonduta di Maccagno e chips di patata dolce e una Trota salmonata con composta di cipolla rossa, broccolo piccante marinato e caprino. I piatti risultano molto equilibrati ma curiosi, la trota spettacolare per la consistenza e la delicata affumicatura mentre l’uovo intrigante nella sua particolarità. Successivamente passiamo ad ordinare i secondi: Kakiage di lago (frittura di verdure e pesce in pastella) con maionese alla senape ed un Maialino croccante con arachidi, zucca al peperoncino, radicchio rosso leggermente fermentato e riduzione di dolcetto. Freschezza dei prodotti e perfetta cottura. Per la frittura di lago la pastella leggerissima, asciutta e croccante, verdure abbondanti e pesce, storione in questo caso, perfetto. Il maialino cotto a bassa temperatura poi fritto, ha ottenuto una consistenza e croccantezza divertente e sorprendente. Complimenti per tecniche utilizzate. Per il dolce ci siamo fatti ispirare da un Riso e latte con mandorle ed amarene e poi da una Fiocca con crumble alla castagna e mirtilli. Entrambi buoni leggeri e curiosi. Il tutto accompagnato da un calice di Lagrein rosé di Andriano per il pesce e da un calice di Péperi di Podere ai Valloni per il maialino. Complimenti per il servizio sala ma soprattutto cucina, merita sicuramente una visita.

19/01/2025: …ma la cura e l’attenzione per il cliente è sempre la stessa! Abbiamo pranzato al ristorante Il Portale a Pallanza e l’esperienza è stata davvero fantastica. Abbiamo scelto alcune delle specialità del menu e ogni piatto ci ha conquistato per la qualità degli ingredienti e la cura nella preparazione. L’atmosfera del locale è accogliente e rilassante, ideale per un pranzo piacevole in buona compagnia. Il servizio è stato impeccabile: personale cordiale, professionale e sempre attento alle nostre esigenze. Un posto che consigliamo vivamente a chi cerca un pranzo di qualità in un ambiente raffinato. Ci torneremo sicuramente!

28/12/2024: Bella location in ottima posizione panoramica con vista sul Mottarone e il Lago di Orta. Interno molto curato ed elegante, personale attento e cordiale ci si sente subito a proprio agio. Ottimo cibo e strepitoso carrello dei dolci e formaggi. Ovviamente tutta questa attenzione si paga un po' di più ma ne vale proprio la pena. Sicuramente torneremo.

02/02/2025: We went to the Usignolo Restaurant, located in Viggiona (VB). From the first reviews and photos it immediately attracted us, and we were not disappointed at all. As soon as you arrive you can admire a breathtaking view of the entire lake, while the interior is modern and very classic. The spaces are large and the arrangement of the tables is very beautiful and functional. The restaurant is very bright due to the large windows, which give the possibility of admiring the view even from inside. As an appetizer I ordered an encore of Piedmontese Fassona tartare and salmon. Truly exceptional dish, the meat and fish were really fresh and their quality was very high. A very, very good dish and highly recommended. As a second course I ordered spaghetti with seafood. This dish was also really delicious, here too you could feel the quality of the products and their freshness. A small negative note is the fact that the pasta was a little too salty. The service is normal, the staff is very friendly and quite fast. Sometimes we waited a moment longer but it was certainly due to the large turnout. Furthermore, a positive note is the parking spaces, although the restaurant is located on a hill it has plenty of them available. A truly delicious and highly recommended restaurant, go there as soon as you have the chance!

16/11/2024: We had the great pleasure of eating at Ristorante Usignolo above Cannero Riviera and it was an experience that we will remember for a long time. Even the journey along the winding roads with a spectacular view of Lake Maggiore was impressive, but when we finally sat down on the terrace, we were simply thrilled. The view of the lake and surrounding mountains, especially at sunset, was simply breathtaking. The menu immediately impressed us – a perfect mix of regional specialties and Italian tradition. The fresh fish dishes and homemade pasta in particular were an absolute highlight. You can immediately tell that they cook here with the best ingredients and a lot of love. Every dish we tried was thought out down to the last detail and incredibly tasty. The service was as warm as it was attentive. We immediately felt welcome and the team's recommendations - be it for the food or the wine pairing - were excellent. Everything was served with a smile and we had the impression that every guest was truly valued here. The atmosphere was simply indescribable. The combination of excellent food, warm service and this incredible view made the evening very special. It felt like a getaway for the soul. We can only warmly recommend Ristorante Usignolo. If you're in the area, you should definitely reserve a table - especially on the terrace. This restaurant impressed us not only culinary but also emotionally, and we will definitely come back.

26/01/2025: Congratulations, I had a really good lunch. The vegetable puree and the apple and chestnut strudel are recommended because they have been tried. Menu of the day (from MON to FRI) €12.00 including two first courses, two second courses and side dish. Drinks, cover charge and the rest on the side.

Small menu, you can tell they put a lot of thought into each dish. Friendly and fast service. Some vegetarian options which made us very happy. Would always come back :-)

26/10/2024: I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant with a friend in August. I had never been there. The venue is tastefully furnished, with attention to every detail, from the combination of pastel colors to the choice of cones of shadow and light. The cuisine is of a high standard. The wide range of dishes described in a refined way immediately raises the level of expectation. The experience on the palate goes further. The flavors blend in an explosion of pleasure. The wine list is up to par. The service is also adequate. I will definitely come back.

24/10/2024: Very nice location and really very good food. The service was also friendly and helpful. However, the restaurant was full. The waiting time for the main course was borderline (almost 60 minutes between starter and main course). In addition, a drink order was missed, but the incorrect bill was corrected without any problems. Conclusion: Highly recommended because of the good food. It's better to reserve in advance and take a little time with you.

12/11/2024: Parmi les rares restaurants de Stresa ouverts à cette période... ambiance bistrot et cuisine familiale revendiquée. Assiette saucisse /polenta et chataignes généreuse et gouteuse. Filet de porc à la moutarde un peu décevant. Service efficace et souriant.
