28/09/2025: A wonderful place, excellent food. The owner's kindness is impeccable. If you want to eat like in Greece, go to this taverna. This is the fifth time I've left Saronno and eaten here. Every time I go, I see improvements. The food is fresh and made to order. The service and price are more than fair. Congratulations!
25/09/2025: We had dinner here after wanting to go for a long time.
The restaurant is centrally located, but in a quiet area, not on a main road. The atmosphere is very charming, reminiscent of Greek style.
We ate very well and in good quantities. The beer was also good.

08/09/2025: Osteria Barbavara was a pleasant surprise. We were lucky enough to have lunch there on a Saturday in early September, having stumbled upon it by chance because it was nearby. The food was excellent, with authentic ingredients and homemade pasta. Definitely recommended if you're in the area.
06/09/2025: We happened upon it on a Saturday: the food was homemade, all excellent, and genuine. Starter, second course, side dish, wine, water, coffee, and homemade dessert were €18 each! EVERYTHING EXCELLENT!

12/10/2025: We often come back for the pizza. In the summer, it's a marvel outside, in the heart of Pavia. The service is fairly quick, and the owner is very kind. As for the way the meat is cooked, I'd rather be in a church. 😁 Overall, we like it, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars more than deserved.
10/10/2025: Excellent pizza, friendly and professional staff, a slightly old-fashioned but pleasant atmosphere. If I ever come back to Pavia, I'll definitely be back.

14/10/2025: The food is excellent, but it's a shame it employs waiters who don't know what they're doing. I wrote down the job their mothers did, but Google keeps censoring the phrase. I won't set foot in there again.
07/10/2025: Lunch with colleagues. Very beautiful and elegant location.
Good food and good wine.
The only flaw is the passageway from the dining room to the kitchen. If I had sat at one of the two-person tables in the corridor, I would have risked elbowing and colliding with the waiters rushing back and forth. They had to give way to one another with full and empty plates, drinks, coffee, desserts... I wouldn't have eaten peacefully. Every passage was a risk of accidents.
Recommended for the food, though.

17/09/2025: I won't go into the price (€6 for a plate filled with a selection of pre-made options), but I'd rather focus on the quality of the food.
Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The selection lacked balanced flavors and, in some cases, even adequate preparation. The salamella (or sausage) was tough and unpleasant, while the farinata was raw inside. Several dishes were dominated by pickled ingredients, resulting in overly acidic and flavorless flavor.
The sweet and sour onion stew deserves a special mention: well-balanced and definitely the best dish of the selection.
The risotto, which was included in the package, unfortunately proved inedible: overly sweet, overcooked, and dull in color (it should have been flavored with citrus and basil liqueur).
This isn't simply a matter of personal taste—which can, of course, vary—but of a general lack of attention to the quality and edibility of the dishes.
On a positive note, the evening concluded with a well-made cocktail.
In short, an aperitif that left a bitter taste in the mouth.

22/09/2025: Terrible service, untrained staff. The elderly lady welcomed us throughout our stay, poor thing, she didn't even know which way she was turned or where she was... rude, we were forgotten in the pool... we wanted drinks service and had to call back several times to remind them that we were waiting for someone. We ordered a very decent bottle of wine at the modest €28 and asked for something to accompany it as an aperitif, they had nothing except a packet of stale crisps, which together with a forgotten piece of frozen pizza and a platter of cured meats that had been there for a long time, we paid separately. Be careful, the best part is the platter that arrived after 30 minutes accompanied by A PACKAGE OF CRACKERS "because at the pool we serve breadsticks, not bread"... Having said that, to enjoy a decent aperitif we decided to go into the internal room but they told us that it was not possible to have two spritzes with an aperitif because they had a wedding to attend to and were busy!! We return to the pool and while we wait for dinner at 8:00 pm, so thirsty that they wouldn't even give us water because we weren't even considered at all. I called 6 times to send someone... in the end they manage to make us two spritzes with two platters of cooked meat, total €40... at dinner time we wait for them to seat us for more than 20 minutes... they feed you with a stone thrower, 3 ravioli counted, the young waiters are rude and impolite... in short, all the staff is rude, a shame because the location is enchanting but really, really badly managed. At the end of the bill the lady had added things we had never ordered. In short, for a day at the pool with a very poor aperitif and a mediocre dinner you saved a good €220... which if someone treated with respect for an experience would willingly spend... but definitely not like this. Total incompetence
