Osteria Barbavara is excellent for a lunch break or business lunch. Quick service, simple yet tasty cuisine, and affordable. Good wine list. Rustic venue, excellent cleanliness, and top-notch service. The owner, Maria, is a delightful, courteous, and kind woman. Elena is a fantastic and charismatic cook! I highly recommend this osteria.

We happened upon it on a Saturday: the food was homemade, all excellent, and genuine. Starter, second course, side dish, wine, water, coffee, and homemade dessert were €18 each! EVERYTHING EXCELLENT!

We booked with a The Fork card and were greeted immediately by friendly staff who seated us in the dining room. We sampled an appetizer, first course, second course, and dessert—all homemade and traditional. Excellent! I recommend it to anyone who wants authentic food in an unpretentious place.

I went for a social dinner with a fixed-price menu: €40 for generous appetizers (excellent cured meats, cabbage salad, country pie, frittata, etc.), a first course (yellow risotto with sausage, perhaps with parmesan a bit raw for my taste), a truly excellent roast with potatoes, and panettone with cream. Wine, by the glass, was paid separately. Service was perhaps a bit slow, but there were a lot of us and we were quite noisy. We'll be back on a quieter evening.

Sometimes I go out and wander around Lomellina... I can't help it... A homey atmosphere... When I want to eat and relax... I stop for lunch!! Excellent authentic cuisine!! I highly recommend it!
