Il Cupolone In Pavia

We had dinner on a Saturday evening, it was very busy, but the service was perfect. Everything was delicious. The place is characterized by many old objects hanging on the walls and hanging from the ceiling.

Typical tavern with a long history behind it, with a myriad of objects once in common use and now curiosities for display scattered and hung throughout the rooms. I haven't explored the entire menu yet but I can say that the starters are excellent, and stand out for their incredible variety, and the first courses are well made, with a personal preference for the risottos, perfect. The menu is also interesting for meats, but I haven't yet had the opportunity (mostly space) to try them. The choice of wines is also good, especially the regional ones. If I have to find a flaw, the dull half-litre bottles of mineral water, the only possible choice, are out of place (even aesthetically!!) on such a table...

The appetizers are very tasty and decorative. The meat is cooked well; both the bacon, the pork neck and the deer. The polenta taragna is also good. I would have cooked the Barbera and sausage risotto a little more, but there are different schools of thought on this. There was also a slight bitter aftertaste given by the barbera, which perhaps would have been better toned down with something. The homemade desserts are excellent. The New York cheese cake (baked) with caramel is a real workhorse. It's difficult not to use too much sugar with a cream of this type, but this one is sweet enough, without being cloying. The environment is very decorative; practically a museum of arts and crafts. The owners were very careful in searching for the most decorative objects, to create a perfect trattoria-style environment. Applause also for the choice of music; perfect. The room on the first floor is beautiful. The staff were attentive and quick. Prices are average. The towel dryers don't work.

Very nice and traditional place, with ossobuco, risotto, cheese and cured meat platters. Behind the cathedral of Pavia, it is a historic place where the period objects do not taste fake or folkloristic. All in all, reasonable prices for the quality and location. Vegans (but also vegetarians) will find it a bit difficult, for others it is a destination to be recommended

The food was decent, the service was a little distracted, there were 4 of us and the starters arrived at two different times. Price around 40 euros without exaggerating with the dishes.

Storica osteria situata nel centro di Pavia. Valida offerta di specialità del territorio , ben cucinate e ben presentate. I prezzi sono corretti ed il servizio è simpatico ed efficiente. Buona scelta dei vini con ricarichi onesti. Merita senz' altro una visita. Consigliabile prenotare.

Bellissimo locale pieno di oggetti del tempo che fu, forse i tavoli sono un po' troppo vicini, ma non essendo grandissimo ci sta che sfruttino tutto lo spazio. Il menu non è ampissimo, ma è piuttosto vario e soprattutto delizioso. Abbiamo provato il tagliere lombardo, un risotto, il piatto unico di ossobuco e riso e una crostata fatta in casa, era tutto davvero squisito e di qualità. Il personale è molto cortese e ha saputo consigliarci bene sul vino da accompagnare al pasto. L'unica pecca è stata l'attesa un po' lunga per ordinare, ma il servizio poi ha avuto tempi corretti. Decisamente un buon indirizzo da ricordare per la cucina locale.
