02/10/2025: Disappointing from the start. No one to greet us. I had to leave my car on the street and go through the visitor line, since the hotel reception is through the same entrance. A gentleman helped me with my bags and parked the car in a nearby public parking lot. Right from the start, we were told we wouldn't have access to the hotel grounds due to a wedding (which happens almost always). The key came with a heavy keychain. The room (210) was very small, facing the wedding venue. The music only stopped at 11 p.m. In fact, you could even hear the couple in the room next door. The bright room lacked proper curtains. The walls were all stained. The bathroom was small and the shower was weak. The staff was very attentive and welcoming. Breakfast was poor. There's nothing else to say. All this for a photo opportunity, at the most expensive gate in Italy.

01/10/2025: We visited Hotel Villa Cipressi to explore the gardens, and it was absolutely worth the €10 entry fee. The views of Lake Como were stunning – peaceful, romantic, and perfect for photos. The gardens are well kept and offer a lovely walk through nature with gorgeous backdrops. We queued at the famous gate for a photo, but the line was quite hectic and we ended up waiting over an hour. Some people took their time, which is understandable, but it did slow things down a lot. It would be great if the hotel added a staff member to help manage the queue, maybe allowing around 2 minutes per person. That small change could make the experience smoother for everyone. After finally getting our photo, we enjoyed a drink by the bar. We didn’t check the price in advance, and a glass of Aperol Spritz came to €18 – definitely on the pricey side, but with that view, it's somewhat understandable. All in all, it was a lovely experience and we’ll definitely be back. Just a few improvements could make it perfect!

04/09/2025: It's true that prices have gone up, but a Margherita costs €12 and a 4 Stagioni €18. A 33cl beer costs €6.50, which is a bit steep.

22/08/2025: I’ve been to the restaurant. Good service, friendly staff but really disappointing food quality. Not Italian standard. Can do better guys.

20/09/2025: I had a simply scandalous experience with this hotel. My reservation was unilaterally canceled, without any time limit being given to provide my bank details and without even the slightest attempt to contact them. The establishment had my ID and all my contact information and could have contacted me at any time. Instead, I was shocked to discover that my stay had been canceled, preventing me from enjoying a reservation I had been looking forward to. Such a lack of professionalism and consideration for the customer is completely unacceptable for a hotel of this category. A huge disappointment.

07/09/2025: I would give a 0 star if I could. A week and half before our trip my father passed away. We had to postpone our trip to Europe. I wanted to reschedule with Meridiana for April. Offered to show them the death certificate and they said no and charged me one night stay and fees. It ended up being over $600! How do you not have any compassion? Every other hotel and AirBnB gladly postponed our trip and offered condolences.

09/07/2025: Bella location. Servizio adeguato. Qualità del cibo discreta. Troppo caro per rapporto qualità/ prezzo. Ho chiesto una bottiglia di sauvignon che abitualmente costa 18€ ed è stata pagata 70€!!!

29/06/2025: El servicio y la vista eran inigualables e increíbles. La zona exterior era genial, pero también lo son la mayoría de los restaurantes en Varenna. La única queja era que la relación cantidad-precio era criminal. Terminé yendo a un segundo restaurante después para pizza y ensalada. Que este restaurante no tenía en el menú. La pasta de langosta era sabrosa, pero solo tenía un pequeño trozo de langosta y muy poca pasta todo por 37 euros. Los raviolis que sirvieron a mi esposa necesitaban salsa. Estaba un poco seco. Solo le dieron cuatro piezas de raviolis por 24 euros. Lo más divertido es que cobraban 10 euros por manteles Coperto que le llaman y 8 euros por un solo vaso de agua para compartir. Voy a Nueva York y otras ciudades caras con restaurantes de alta gama, y en términos de porción - a - precio, esto fue el peor hasta ahora

05/09/2025: Location is excellent. The breakfast was very good and the staff were very good. However, our room was dirty and full of ants. The ants crawled across our bed, there were many in the bathroom, crawling along the floors In the main room, and obviously in our Suitcases. We had no coffee in our room even though we asked for it. Our door was impossible to lock and unlock, and the key would stick relentlessly. I would not go back.

07/09/2025: The food was not amazing at all, we expected better. The kids were screaming all the time and the staff did nothing about it. The customer's dog was running free and no one intervened...

24/07/2025: We had a wonderful time in a magnificent natural setting, overlooking the lake. 🧚‍♀️ Our pizza could have been more delicious. Other than that, everything was great. The staff was hardworking and attentive, and our drinks were delicious.

09/07/2025: A very nice little restaurant, right on the waterfront, but with a view of the lake and mountains. My meal was excellent, and the service was exceptionally friendly.

14/09/2025: Had a great experience! Good food in an unbeatable atmosphere. I would improve the service though which was lacking for us. It was hard to get our server’s attention. The Ragu was good and so was the ravioli. The lamb chops were super tender and good. Ask of the good was great. You do pay extra for the view. They could get a perfect score with better service although it is still a great restaurant

19/07/2025: Muy mal servicio sirven la mesa sin platos Tardan muchísimo. La camarera es muy antipática. Vasos no están tan limpios.

30/06/2025: Ero di passaggio ieri sera domenica, ho visto questo locale transitando nella strada sottostante, visto che era orario di cena abbiamo deciso di fermarci. Ci siamo seduti all' esterno con lo sfondo delle montagne della Val Chiavenna, una leggera brezzolina mitigava il caldo infernale della giornata. Veniamo alla cucina...mia moglie ha preso una frittura di pesce ECCEZIONALE...ben asciutta croccante, e anche abbondante. Mentre io e i miei figli abbiamo mangiato la pizza. Sono rimasto colpito dalla fragranza del impasto, ben lievitata, ben cotta...insomma una pizza da 10, anche i miei figli hanno apprezzato e divorata tutta. Sicuramente questo ristorante lo inseriremo in agenda la prossima volta che passeremo a Colico

18/08/2025: We went for dinner one evening in August. There weren't many people, so it was quiet, and the view of the lake was fantastic. We received a very warm welcome from the staff. The waitresses were very attentive to us. The food was good.

11/09/2025: The woman working behind the bar was a disaster! She shouldn’t be working there. We ordered on the spot and she brought the food in takeaway boxes. We opened them to eat, and she started yelling that this isn’t a campsite 🤦‍♂️😂. Such rudeness! Best to avoid this place if you can. The spaghetti carbonara was bitter, the pizza was eatable.
