19/07/2025: Fantastisk mad, super betjening, og utrolig idyllisk beliggenhed. 🙏
Vi var afsted 7 mennesker. Alle borde var booket, men vi kom tidligt, så de havde overskud til at betjene os, og satte hurtigt 3 borde op på hjørnet i den fantastisk hyggelige gård. Alle 7 var meget glade for maden, som oversteg de forventninger vi havde.
Alle tjenerne var utroligt opmærksomme og det hele foregik helt gnidningsfrit.
På menuen er der flere lokale retter, som vi prøvede med stor begejstring til følge. 👌
01/07/2025: Nos encontramos con este restaurante mientras esperábamos para registrarnos en nuestro alojamiento. ¡Fue un hallazgo afortunado! Gran comida (en particular los ravioles y las pizzas) , gran vino de la casa y el personal amable.

11/08/2025: Good location, very friendly staff, we felt comfortable! But the room was dated and unfortunately not thoroughly cleaned – I don't understand why, as this should be normal (see pictures), especially around the kettle and where you hang your towels. The air filter and air conditioning system also desperately need cleaning! Still, it was fine for us. It's just annoying because for this price, it really should be clean.

07/08/2025: I went with my family for both lunch and dinner and found the owner and staff to be very helpful, prompt, and friendly. The ingredients were carefully selected, all of them top-quality. The pizza was also delicious, made with a very light and easily digestible dough. The atmosphere was clean, welcoming, and relaxing...highly recommended!!
06/08/2025: Very good restaurant. At first, we hesitated because there was no one there, but the selection was very good. We had a pizza and the beef tagliata dish. The service was fast and the manager was really nice.

Outdoor seating is nicer than indoor, mostly due to noise and unpleasant lighting inside.

26/08/2025: Given the reviews, we expected something more. The sciatt were good, and the pizzoccheri were almost tasteless, all you could taste was a lot of pepper. It was my first time eating them, and I expected an explosion of flavor, which I didn't get. The seafood salad and linguine allo scoglio were average.
24/08/2025: The food was okay, no dessert, and unfortunately, hardly any cocktails. There were a lot of waiters, which made things a bit hectic. For once, it was okay.

25/08/2025: The hotel has a great location and nice staff. Breakfast is included with a nice assortment, however there is no other food serverd here for lunch or dinner. The spa is quaint but only has a sauna and steam room. Perfect for a couple of nights and everything is walking distance.

21/07/2025: A restaurant with a terrace overlooking the lake, yet also right off the main road. Despite this, it's a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere for a summer dinner with friends, or even better, with the wife. I should point out that they accept dogs, at least our small one. There's parking, although I'm not sure it's enough for everyone; we were on our motorcycles and had no problems.
The staff were friendly and helpful; they even welcomed us without a reservation and after 9:00 PM, when the kitchen closes.
The dishes were decent, everything was good, especially the dessert. The pickled fish were delicious, but too strong; they got boring after a while; I would have preferred a touch more sweet and sour.
The misultin, which I love, are made with polenta and are delicious.
The first courses were also excellent, so definitely recommended.
16/07/2025: Business lunch for 13 euros. Good value. Magnificent lakeside terrace.

14/08/2025: Very good pizza. Friendly staff, except for one waiter who made annoyed faces at every customer request and made unnecessary comments, a sign of poor manners. The cashier seemed to have a grudge against the entire world... a smile and a few kind words would have been appreciated. I'd go back for the pizza, though.

07/07/2025: We had a wonderful dinner in Varenna. The service was on point, and the atmosphere felt relaxed and authentic. The pasta with smoked fish was surprisingly good! The Aperol Spritz was perfectly made, and the desserts were delicious. Highly recommended!
05/07/2025: This little gem was hidden in an alley next to all the tourist traps, so incredibly good food!! Tasty and yummy pasta and the burrata was so creamy 😍 nice view too if you get one of the tables on the outdoor terrace.

The service wasn't great; one of the waiters (probably jaded by tourists) was pretentious and didn't even hide his annoyance when we asked for a replacement for a fork my son had accidentally dropped; this set the tone for the atmosphere....
17/08/2025: We went for Ferragosto and had a wonderful meal! I highly recommend the slow-cooked duck with vegetables.

29/08/2025: I ordered a vegetariana pizza with extra spicy salami, my mum ordered spaghetti vongole. Both were exceptionally good! Easily the best pizza of my holiday (I had a few in the lake como area). The vongole pasta was herby and garlicky with loads of clams. Service was fast and friendly. Great value for money. We sat inside as it was cold but outside seating is also available.

Hotel Villa Cipressi Restaurant

26/08/2025: My review only concerns the garden.
I can't believe we paid 10 euros for this. Apart from the gate that opens onto the lake, the garden has no particular interest (people doing a photoshoot in front of us didn't even get a picture of us in front of it).
But the real problem is the reception...
We arrive at 5:15 p.m., we ask for a combined ticket with the Villa Monastero. "No, it's too late." The lady explains that we no longer qualify for the rate, but that the two villa gardens close at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., so we can still go to the Villa Monastero, but we'll have to pay the full price. It makes no sense. All this without a smile. Here, they don't even give you a map; they tell you to "take a picture of the sign before entering the garden." For 10 euros, we could at least get a flyer. And the cherry on the cake, when we were leaving the garden, which I remind you we paid for access to, there are chairs, my husband stops for a second to put his backpack away properly before leaving, a lady asks us to move because "you are in the way of people coming to the restaurant", and yes the tourists and their backpacks were a blot in front of the customers in evening dress. In the end, these same chic customers, upon seeing us, stopped us and gave us big smiles because we had our dog and they found her so cute. They were not snobs! In short, you will have understood if you are not a guest at the hotel, I do not recommend this garden.
25/08/2025: Villa Cipressi hôtel is a catastrophic experience:
1) the hotel is fully of tourists : anywhere in the hotel you meet people making some « fashionista » pictures and drones at your window … Even in the main building of the hotel. Nothing intimist and private.
2) the room is a disaster. Nothing which looks like website pictures.
4) anything you do is extra pay!
3) service is mediocre: I asked to leave the hotel and being refundable. The manager refuses and kindly offer me the private car service to go back to my country whereas I have my car!
Conclusion: if you have money find another hotel. If you don’t then keep your money and go somewhere else
