07/05/2026: we rented an apartment with a pull out couch in the living room. the couch was about 35 years old with the bars coming thru the mattress. no one could sleep on it. when I told the office we closed the couch so we could try for my daughter to sleep at all. it was awful. the wifi did not work at all. the hostess was kind enough to give us a hot spot to try but it only worked near the kitchen. the people are very nice but the beds are impossible. the shower had no water pressure either. the location is good.
30/04/2026: Such a great hotel. The staff was so friendly and happy. Breakfast was amazing. Location is great. Very clean rooms. Everything was perfect.

Oana was excellent and kind in taking care of our experience at the restaurant. Even our dog Roger was welcomed with love and care. Highly recommended! Thank you, and see you soon!
11/07/2026: In my opinion, it was just average. The view was great and the service was great, but the food wasn't anything special, just classic pizza. Maybe other options are better, but when it comes to pizza, I think there are better places.

28/07/2026: The space was cramped and cramped, and the young waitress, no one smiled, everyone had angry faces. It wasn't possible to get a portion of plain risotto for the little girl; I had to order two risottos à la carte (22 euros for two) to get the little girl to eat the risotto. It was also supposed to be a fish risotto, but the fish was fried in batter and placed on top. For someone with gluten intolerance, even risotto isn't a safe option. The prices were above average considering the menu offerings and the complete lack of a lake view. What's more, they didn't give me a receipt!!! I only realized this later.

07/06/2026: The hotel was beautiful, centrally located, and a truly peaceful place to come back to and enjoy the lake away from the more crowded tourist parts of Varenna. The biggest highlights were the unbeatable view, the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had (with the aforementioned view), and dinner at the attached Visteria (best meal I’ve ever had). The staff who work at the restaurants and by the pool are incredible - so friendly and helpful. The reception staff were a little less warm and could have been more helpful with shuttle transit upon arrival to Varenna and with securing dinner reservations. Would absolutely recommend staying here.
04/06/2026: The hotel and breakfast are average, but the price is far higher than what they actually offer. The worst part is that they charged me a €100 deposit which has still not been refunded. They ignore emails, promise to reply and then never do, and nobody provides a solution.
To this day, I have not recovered my money. The customer service is disgraceful and the way this has been handled is completely unacceptable. I will not return and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

23/05/2026: Hotel Risi, a gem right on Lake Como
Large and comfortable room, delicious breakfast with everything from sweet to savory, and freshly made cappuccinos, not coffee from machines.
The staff is very kind and welcoming.
The location is wonderful, right in front of the ferry dock and close to the pedestrian area with many restaurants and a lovely lakeside promenade.
A very pleasant experience and highly recommended.
23/05/2026: Excellent value for money. Beautiful location in Collio, facing Lake Como. The ferry to Bellagio departs just across the street (note that on windy days, the ferry frequency is lower than from other locations). The hotel has an excellent restaurant, and many other places to eat are within walking distance. The train station is a 5-minute walk. They have parking 200 meters away. The breakfast is very good, and the service is excellent as well. It's a good option for staying on Lake Como that's not too expensive, quieter, and offers quality service.

29/06/2026: We went there twice for breakfast. They offered a good selection of toast, eggs, and yogurt, which was very tasty. The service was friendly and quick. They had a wide variety of coffees, all of which were delicious and, most importantly, very reasonably priced! Highly recommended for the price!
27/06/2026: Foreign-style bar obsessions... In Mandello. When I saw the English menu on the table and the waiter, I was tempted to leave, but I was thirsty. I ordered two spritzes, ten euros, and not even peanuts. Shame on me.

12/07/2026: We stayed for 3 nights at hotel Meridiana. And I wanted to say massive thank you to each and every staff member for look after us so well. Providing everything we needed. Snaye to help us out with taxi last min, checking up on us. And Ama for great room service. It really felt like home. Family room was huge and clean. Ferry and train station was 12-15 mins walk away. I would highly recommend this hotel.
07/07/2026: We had a lovely stay here! Everyone was very accommodating and helpful! Lovely views, excellent food, great service especially from Sanae.

18/05/2026: Wonderful hotel with incredibly nice staff. Very clean and I appreciate the lovely scented small bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash instead of those awful attached pump bottles.
Sitting outside the back with that beautiful Lake Como view is heaven. Aziz, the bartender and waiter, was very nice and over the top helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

02/07/2026: A lovely discovery on a Thursday in July with friends. Excellent fresh fish dishes. Amberjack tartare, pasta with spider crab, grilled octopus with creamed potatoes, and salt-baked sea bass. Top! Professional and attentive service. Highly recommended! We'll definitely be back!

03/06/2026: Highly disappointed: Paying guests shouldn't be sidelined for private eventsI recently stayed at this hotel and was extremely disappointed with the management of the common areas. Throughout my entire stay, a wedding was being held on-site. As a result, I was completely barred from enjoying the garden and the terrace—the very features that justify the premium rates of this hotel and its overall appeal.Paying for a charming boutique experience only to find the main amenities locked down or inaccessible is deeply disrespectful to paying guests. If the property chooses to host weddings and large events, they should sell out the entire venue exclusively, as many professional hoteliers do. Trying to run a regular hotel while hosting private events just creates an incompatible experience. Unfortunately, I would not return and cannot recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing stay.
02/06/2026: They have a nice garden out back, saw some swans! I’d skip the influencer gate, that line looked crazy!
