Very characteristic place located in an alley not far from the sea
The menu offers Gaeta specialties and a good menu of the day
The prices are slightly high, and the portions are not exactly abundant, but the dishes are very, very good
I would fully recommend a visit!

Insufficient rating for starter
Fried gnocco looked like a carnival cold cuts and cheese frappa without any pretension
The first one was good
Absolutely high price for 1 poor quality starter and 1 first course
They didn't even have fruit
I wouldn't stay here again and wouldn't recommend it
I have been there many times under the previous management and it was truly top
Now absolutely insufficient
20/04/2024: Highly recommended restaurant. The food is excellent, I enjoyed all the dishes I ordered. The restaurant manager was very kind and knowledgeable about wines. I will definitely come back.

24/03/2024: Behind the seafront, among the alleys, the cloisters and the buildings annexed to the Cathedral, this small wine shop/restaurant offers small emotions, in a refined and elegant environment created in a cellar that incorporates a section of the Gaeta city walls, an oil mill and a splendid Roman underground cistern.
These wonders, integrated with care and respect in the internal room, well illustrated by the young owner, would be enough to offer the maximum rating to Cantina di Ciccillo, but there is also the cuisine, organized around a few appetizing proposals, balanced in flavors and made with love and passion.
Everything was wonderful, I'll be back.
23/03/2024: An incredible experience! We chose "la cantina di ciccillo" to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday in an original way in Gaeta! Not only did they show us availability and courtesy from the first moment, but they organized everything down to the smallest detail, creating a one-of-a-kind party. Our guests were impressed, in love with the local cuisine, the suggestive venue and how the entire lunch was managed, from the appetizers to the cake, prepared outside in the characteristic alley.
A special thanks to Lucia and her team for giving us this magnificent party!!!

antipasto 3 fette di affettati e una di formaggio e stop niente altro.. accompagnato da pane classico nella busta (na focaccia o bruschette no?)
se devo mangiare pane classico e affettati mangio a casa... primo misero...carne mix maiale(la più economica) con 2 veramente foglie di insalata manco condita e neanche i condimenti sono stati portati....ma va be'...continuerete a perdere clienti...problemi vostri!

We ate an excellent pizza in a nice and welcoming place. Alfredo the pizza chef and all the staff were very kind. We will definitely be back!

We were out of season right during the annual opening period.
We tried both the pizzas and the fish; both excellent.
Probably the only wood-fired oven on the island.
The fish was really fresh and cooked well.
Not to mention the kind and welcoming staff.
In particular, Alfredo the pizza chef delighted us with his stories and ways of doing things. He could be a stand up comedian!
If we had had a bed we would have stayed for the night as well so as not to leave the fantastic atmosphere.
Affordable prices and in line with the island.

02/10/2023: Cena di coppia. Locale accogliente e ben tenuto, terrazza accogliente, personale disponibile e professionale. Abbiamo preso 2 primi , mezze maniche al polpo e spaghetti allo soglio, buoni e per secondo una grigliata mista di pesce, presentata in maniera impeccabile, peccato che i crostacei non fossero freschi e che il trancio di pesce spada si sfaldava sotto le posate come fa il pesce decongelato. A onor del vero c'è da dire che il ristorante il giorno dopo avrebbe chiuso per fine stagione e forse è questo il motivo della "scarsa" qualità della materia prima, ma a mio giudizio sarebbe stato più elegante segnalare nel menu la scarsa disponibilità di pesce fresco e magari tenersi più bassi nel prezzo. Sarebbe da riprovare durante la stagione piena e verificare l'effettiva qualità. Pagato 40€ a persona che in condizioni normali è un prezzo nella media, magari in questa occasione è stato un tantino esagerato.

Ci siamo ritrovati per caso e posso affermare di aver mangiato una pizza straordinaria.
Soffice, ben lievitata, qualità eccellente degli ingredienti. Una vera e propria pizza napoletana. Il proprietario (Giorgio) molto gentile.
Conto nella norma considerando la location bellissima posta proprio sul mare. Sicuramente ci ritorneremo per assaggiare anche la cucina e gli ottimi primi che abbiamo visto passare in sala. Servizio veloce, cortese, sempre con il sorriso. Voto 10!!!
