24/08/2025: I usually never give five stars, but they truly deserved it. Warm and unexpected welcome, excellent food, and a beautiful view. It might be a little difficult to reach, especially on foot, but the value for money makes even that a thing of the past. I highly recommend it.

23/08/2025: Good pizza and excellent appetizers, both seafood and meat. The atmosphere is a bit retro but welcoming, and the service is excellent.

17/08/2025: I don’t know how anyone can dare to rate this place with anything less than 5 stars, that is unless you dont have a clue what good food is. If you want pasta (your have to try the Ravioli here!), a caprese salad, and a tiramisu, this is one of the best places I’ve been to in the world. Everyone thinks that Capri is super expensive, but this place shows you don’t have to pay the ridiculous tourist prices on offer at many of the restaurants. There are many other places like this in Capri, you just need to take some time and look around…

Great hospitality and friendliness from all the members, or rather, the staff, who, with their infectious smiles, made us feel at home, as if we'd always been a part of it! The price? 25/08/2025: The 3 stars are because we found them open on a Sunday night. If I had to rate it otherwise, it would be 2 stars. The pizza made here is far inferior to the pizzas in the city and in most cases cheaper, the dough is thick, the toppings are cheap, nothing to do with the classic Neapolitan pizza. As a Diavola pizza, I got a plain salami pizza. The kindness of the servers lasted until we sat down and it turned out that we weren't going to spend too much money, we were just eating our pizzas. In addition, there was no large wine, water, or beer, even though they were all on the menu. And the fact that the service fee is 1 euro per person (which is average and okay by the way), and on top of that! they charge 10%, is simply unprecedented, and the waiters running around mindlessly didn't do much for it, apparently only one young guy did all the real work. If you don't have high expectations, are just hungry, and don't mind the fact that you're in Naples, you'll be fine. But I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for classic Neapolitan pizza!

19/08/2025: The upstairs dining room offers more sophisticated service, but the outdoor gazebo is more homey and casual. The dishes, however, are the same, and I can guarantee it because I've tried both locations. The fried pizza is the best...try it and believe it.

13/04/2025: Esperienza terribile... iniziando dal proprietario che è una persona scortese ed antipatica. Servizio lentissimo, dopo 2 ore è arrivato qualcosa a tavola ...un piatto che non so descrivere, frittura con una poltiglia all'interno dal sapore disgustoso. Abbiamo preso poche porzioni per assaggiare ed alla fine rimanevano intatte. L'unica portata gradita è stata i "fagioli alla messicana". Per concludere arrivano 2 paella di pesce al tavolo, io che l'ho mangiata anche in spagna e conosco il sapore ed il costo di questa pietanza quando è fatta bene ,sono rimasta totalmente disgustata, il pesce di certo non era di qualità, probabilmente congelato ...un gusto veramente terribile. Rimaste intatte anche queste. Il conto??? 40 euro a persona,la paella 180? Un conto di quasi 500 euro? Ma stiamo scherzando????? Ovviamente usciti da lì molti di noi sono stati male, dolori allo stomaco, problemi di digestione. Mai e poi mai consiglierei questo posto! Carissimo ed orribile sia per il servizio che per le pietanze di bassissima qualità,un ladro! Scontrino? Nemmeno a parlarne,lo ha scritto a penna!!! Ecco come fanno i soldi oggi

06/04/2025: Update March 2025 (at the bottom) A place for connoisseurs. You won't find the usual Mexican/Spanish tourist cuisine, but typical traditional dishes cooked with the same local recipe. The owner (if you know how to get it, he's a very nice and knowledgeable person) boasts thirty years of experience in South American cuisine on site and does it out of passion. The menu is particular and the products are top quality. The paella (if you want to try his) you will have to book it and not on Saturday because he "only cooks fresh products and the original paella needs 3 hours of preparation". La Madrugada is a culinary experience and as mentioned above is for connoisseurs. The environment is quiet and very small (3/4 tables) so booking is mandatory. The prices are quite high but it can be worth it in terms of value for money. Update March 2025: I confirm that the quality of the place, the freshness of the products and the goodness of the cuisine requires a review of the organisation: in the place there is only the owner and the helper (who however only takes care of the kitchen) and it is the owner who manages the orders, table service and preparation of the dishes, this significantly slows down the arrival of the dishes resulting in you having to wait almost two hours to finally be able to taste the paella; A waiter is necessary to manage orders, especially when you have to explain the dishes on the menu, serve at the tables, welcome customers: it is unthinkable to do everything alone because it inevitably takes time away from preparing the dishes and the wait becomes very long and sometimes unnerving. So you are warned, you will eat well, but the wait will be long

07/08/2025: A very nice place, but it's truly shameful that, because I had a suitcase and was clearly not Neapolitan, I was charged double the price I should have. No explanation. Shameful. I love Naples, but these cases confirm the worst prejudices against Neapolitans. Shame on you.

22/08/2025: Had a wonderful dinner at La Contrada di Tony! The restaurant is beautiful with its open air patio! The Diavolo and Margherita pizzas were perfect, followed by a Limoncellonto cap the evening off

28/08/2025: We went to eat at the recommendation of our host at the Nido Verde Hotel, and we couldn't have been more right. The pasta was incredibly delicious, full of flavor, the meat was juicy, and the service was incredible.

19/08/2025: Wonderful evening!! We had a must-try combination: tomatoes grown by the Mario Gentile family with fior di latte, of course, by Ruocco. Grilled swordfish, prawns, and squid... (superb). But then... that spaghetti with mussels arrived... just look at the photo!!! An absolute delight. Anyone who truly wants to eat locally sourced food (not zero, because the tomatoes were picked this morning on the family's land 1.5 km away) must come to Picchio Rosso. I forgot... the homemade desserts are a must (special guest for ricotta and pear by... Stefania!!!) Superb!!!!

26/08/2025: Highly recommended restaurant, very nice location, even the outdoor one. We had a couple of appetizers, all very good and plentiful. The highlight is definitely the paella, really well made. The sangria was very reasonably priced, as was the entire bill. I recommend it for a Spanish-themed evening.

24/08/2025: A FABULOUS place, with kind, friendly, welcoming, and smiling staff, as only Naples can. A typical Neapolitan menu featuring all the delights of our gastronomic scene, sure to satisfy every palate. A ragù "pippiato" (cooked for many, many hours) with the same dedication as grandmothers of old: pure poetry. The parmigiana arruscata (rusted and presented in the classic coccino) and the cod to die for.

05/09/2025: Extremely disappointing experience at this place. The service was the worst we’ve had in Sorrento. They took nearly half an hour just to take our order, and then another half an hour to bring the cheque. The food itself was very average – nothing worth the long wait or the attitude. When we tried to give polite feedback to the server, instead of acknowledging it, he started arguing with us, which made the whole situation even more unpleasant. On top of that, they charge a coperto (cover charge) for every person at the table, even if someone is not eating – something we didn’t experience in other restaurants here. Overall, rude service, poor management, and mediocre food. Highly not recommended.
