If you want to escape the tourist-trap restaurants of the Amalfi Coast and immerse yourself in the most authentic Campania, Osteria Torre Ferano is an almost obligatory stop. Located in the hills of Vico Equense (also famous for its appearance on 4 Ristoranti with Alessandro Borghese), the establishment dominates the landscape, offering views of the Gulf of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. The host, Camillo, is a force of nature: genuine, captivating, and a promoter of a "stress-free" atmosphere. The cuisine is traditional, hearty, and unfussy. The final treat? Coffee served directly from the moka pot to your table. The fun compromise? To conquer this Genovese, you'll first have to brave the narrow hillside roads, and on busy days, the service shifts from "welcoming" to "organized chaos."

14/08/2026: The salty white pizza with mozzarella wasn't the best, full of oil and too crunchy, the fried foods even worse, the croquettes were cold from the freezer, and the arancini had the mozzarella still hard inside. The price was also steep for what we ate. Not recommended.

04/08/2026: After leaving the "museum ice cream shop," which DOES NOT SELL TO CELIACS, as the barista had explained, we stopped here to ask if my daughter could get a variety of flavors of ice cream. The lady very kindly told us she had gluten-free cones, cups, and focaccia (very good, according to my daughter). She also told us she had breakfast products and bread because she has three grandchildren with celiac disease. It really doesn't take much... even just kindness and friendliness.

02/11/2025: I tried the saltimbocca and I must say that it is truly a joy for the palate, an ancient cooking technique designed specifically to create the effect of external crunchiness that however does not affect the softness and the flavor of the sandwich itself, truly exceptional, I am amazed.

19/06/2026: We spontaneously decided to explore the city and stumbled upon this little restaurant. We sat down at an unusual time and were served very warmly. There was no menu, but the cook, Mariella, served us a generous spread of antipasti and asked us what we were in the mood for – pasta, meat, fish, etc. – before our main courses. We finished with a delicious dessert. We enjoyed it so much that we returned a few days later. We were immediately recognized, and once again, we followed Mariella's advice regarding the menu to enjoy another delightful evening. Mariella also chatted with us in English, sharing some insights about the city and its surroundings.

31/05/2026: The chef is incredibly friendly and greeted us personally even though we dropped by unexpectedly. The food was excellent, the wine was good, and the atmosphere was fantastic. If you're looking for somewhere to eat on short notice, this is definitely a great place to go! She's also happy to answer questions about the region and give tips for tourists!

29/03/2026: This is the second time I've been to this restaurant, I have to thank whoever recommended it to me... the food is divine.

08/08/2026: We’ve spent 3 nights in the nearby country house and have seen reviews about this Michelin guide- level restaurant. After first visit I must say that we left quite dissapointed. The prices were high- approx 20-30€ per portion and we were fine with that, expecting meal of a high quality. While ordering, we noticed the strange division between premium fish and not premium fish dish, which felt quite strange considering a high price for both, but let me get to the food. We had 6 meals of which the grilled squid was the worst. Grilled to the point of not being chewable, it felt like a rubber. Both fish were very basic and not flavourful, nothing remotely special (next day we had a better fish for half the price in nearby restaurant). Beef entrecote was fine but again, nothing special, close to medium and not evenly cooked through. I must add that no one reminded us about the sides so we ate it with stale bread on the side. The two remaining pasta dishes were ok but definitely overpriced for the portion. Now comes the waiting time, we also ordered two starters but the service people didn’t seem to care (as with the sides for meat dishes), so they brought us everything at the same time, after 1 hour and 15 minutes of waiting. After the dinner we asked to pay and ended up reminding the staff after 20 minutes of waiting for the bill. Very underwhelming, even dissapointing experience

26/07/2026: Definitely not. The food was a complete disappointment, starting with the extremely meager appetizer: two fried anchovies and two in oil, a zucchini flower, and an unknown fish in a slice of very old pumpkin. The catch of the day was a comical experience: there were six of us, and we ordered one sea bream for two and four snappers for the other. The waiters couldn't tell the difference between the two types of fish 😂, if you're charging me 70 euros, at least tell me what I'm eating. Plus, it didn't taste that great. The side potatoes were a joke, dry and old, and they even took them away from us before we'd finished them. They ripped us off as tourists, so keep your eyes peeled.

22/08/2026: It's our favorite pizzeria, my son loves the pizza fiocco and only eats theirs... The patience, kindness and helpfulness of the staff (especially Mrs. Anna) are infinite... thank you, it always feels like home!!!
