I wanted to eat risky but not pizza.... And I arrived here, on my way back WHAT HAPPINESS!!!! Next time I will come just to relive this experience. The chef, passionate about cooking and wine, is fascinating Stop looking for where to eat well in the area!!!

A group of ladies enjoyed an event here on International Women’s Day. Incredible personable service and the food was delicious! I’m very new to learning about wine and got some great starting points. My friends know much more and also enjoyed it. The owner, and chef, along with her spouse, played food beautifully and told stories about it with ease and love. We will be back for sure! I devoured food before getting decent food pictures but this first dish of appetizers are all variations of yellow to fit the theme. I wasn’t sure if I’d love them and I could have eaten plates of each one but there were several more courses to come!

For dinner I had the privilege of tasting the amazing food at La Taverna dei Sapori. Mariella the owner/cook/sommelier has had her restaurant for 20 years and has made so many bellies and hearts happy, including mine. There was no menu, she asked what we like and she brought out deliciousness on the cutest plates I fell in love with. We started with a great rosé matching my outfit and a huge plate of Napolitano appetizers with her stamp on it. For the main she made me spaghetti with sea urchin that was so flavorful and smooth. I rarely find sea urchin on a menu so it was a treat to have this dish crafted with love. I told her I'm a chocolate kid so for dessert she brought out the most delicious almond chocolate cake with extra chocolate sauce. The ambiance was great and Mariella stopped by every once and a while to check on us and share some knowledge of the food and surroundings. I happy danced in my chair all night long. I haven't had many restaurateurs make me as happy as she did, so a picture for memory was a must.

This place was great! The host and her husband were amazing people! It was our first time wine tasting and we came here on a friend’s recommendation and it did not disappoint! The chef speaks English and is very warm and kind and knowledgeable about her food, wines, and Italian history/ culture.

My favorite place to eat in Italy. Mariella is an amazing chef and sommelier. Her husband Pepe makes some nice strong cocktails also. We have been going to this restaurant for years and the quality is simply amazing. The service is personal and top notch and the atmosphere is great for intimate conversations. The fact that she speaks English is a bonus for international customers. The bathrooms are always clean and stocked.

Agriturismo Santa Maria al Monte

20/08/2023: Top stay! Beautiful views, nice pool and great service. We stayed here for 4 days. A real corner of relaxation. We were able to relax properly, have a good time in the pool and enjoy an incredible sunset. Every morning we were treated to a royal breakfast! We also ate in the evening, I recommend doing this at least once during your stay. Whether it's breakfast or the restaurant, everything is fresh and you can feel it! Concerning the situation, we had not rented anything to get around relying on the numerous buses. Even if the island remains well served, the buses are often crowded and if you want to get around on foot, the streets are absolutely not suitable for pedestrians, the cars brush against you, it remains dangerous. In addition, the hotel being a little isolated (which allows for calm and an incredible view) I recommend renting a small car or a scooter for more freedom! Regarding the rooms, they are spacious, large and pleasant. On the other hand, the walls are made of paper so if you come across noisy adults or a large family... it can get complicated. In short, I recommend ++++ because even with the small flaws it remains a magical place! We will come back !
16/08/2023: The La Pergola farmhouse is the choice for a holiday where the guest and hospitality are at the center. Giosuè was able to create an oasis of tranquility where you can enjoy the beauty of this island. You will be surrounded by nature, made up of vineyards and fruit trees, from which he takes the raw materials of his Ischian cuisine. In fact, here at Giosuè you can eat all the typical products he produces from breakfast to dinner. Special mention goes to the fig and strawberry jam, tuna in oil and Ischia-style rabbit but there are also vegetarian options with vegetables from his garden. Spectacular view with Ventotene, Ponza and Palmarola on the horizon and unique sunsets over the sea... The swimming pool is also beautiful where you can relax when returning from the sea. The farmhouse is located a few minutes from the center of Forio and Citara beach. We rented a car and from here we explored the whole island with ease. The comfortable and spacious room with terrace overlooking the sea... Choosing Giosuè's farmhouse means having the entire island of Ischia at your fingertips. Advised!
