The sunset view from San Domenico is simply breathtaking—one of those views that makes you pause for a moment before ordering, because you realize you're looking at something rare. That alone would be worth the visit. But the cuisine is no exception: the gnocchi with gurnard, snapper, strawberries, and chili pepper are an extraordinary dish—creativity, technique, and Calabrian terroir blend impeccably. Sweet, seafood, spicy. A balance few manage to achieve. The service is top-notch, attentive, and never intrusive. Special mention to Maria Concetta, whose professionalism and warmth made the evening even more enjoyable—the kind of welcome that makes you feel like a guest, not a customer. San Domenico plays in Serie A. One of the best restaurants on the Calabrian coast, without a doubt.

11/08/2026: I had lunch at Prima o Poi with my girlfriend and we left feeling incredibly satisfied. The raw fish was top-notch, the first course truly delicious, and the second course beautifully done. What really makes the difference, however, is the service: the wait staff was professional, kind, and fast. And with such a good value for money, you couldn't ask for anything better. Highly recommended!

Gluten-Free: What can I say about the gluten-free offering? Such care and attention is rare. You can safely order gluten-free, with a wide selection from appetizers to first and second courses, without sacrificing taste or quality. Special praise goes to the entire staff, who are disarmingly kind and attentive to every need and detail. You feel pampered and 100% safe. Excellent value for money. It's hard to find such a high level of freshness, food safety, and service at such fair prices anywhere else. A restaurant absolutely recommended to everyone, and a must-visit for anyone seeking excellent seafood with truly superb gluten-free options.

12/08/2026: I have to be honest...we had read some very negative reviews complaining about the fish not being fresh enough, but luckily we trusted the inviting aroma that could be felt even outside the restaurant, strolling along the Scilla seafront. I'm starting to think the bad reviews were written purely out of spite, and I'm truly sorry because our experience was anything but negative. The restaurant is family-run, and we were warmly welcomed. It's a simple atmosphere, but the food tells a story of passion, hard work, and dedication. The fish is incredibly fresh and local. We had a seafood appetizer that was enough for two, delicious crab ravioli, and the catch of the day. The quality/price ratio is excellent (we paid €35 ​​each), proving that if you know what you're talking about when it comes to restaurants, you don't need frills and extra-luxurious venues. We'd also read about extremely long wait times...we personally arrived at 8:30 PM, so the service was very quick, but I think it's normal and reasonable for places to be crowded during the Ferragosto holiday week; you just need to be a little patient! All in all, a top experience. If we ever have another vacation in Scilla, we'd definitely love to return!

25/07/2026: During our stay in Tropea, we dined at Scacco Matto, and the experience was truly excellent. The restaurant is very well-maintained and welcoming, with a pleasant atmosphere. The staff was friendly, professional, and always available, making us feel welcome throughout the evening. We started with a delicious mussel soup, rich and flavorful, accompanied by croutons. For our first courses, we chose calamarata and rigatoni with fresh tuna, Tropea onions, and cherry tomatoes: both generous, well-prepared, and made with quality ingredients. Also not to be missed is the tuna alla Tropeana, tender and rich in flavor. Generous portions, carefully prepared dishes, and authentic flavors of Calabrian seafood cuisine. A restaurant that convinced us in every way and that I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to eat well in Tropea. Congratulations to the entire staff!

The rustic yet elegant atmosphere welcomes guests into a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere! The young staff are courteous, prompt, helpful, and knowledgeable, and every request is fully accommodated. The menu and wine selection are also remarkable! The food is high-quality and excellent, both in terms of the raw ingredients and the chef's skill in respecting and showcasing them! It's completely unjustified, given the lack of proper catering, a well-stocked bar, or a covered terrace with real shade. There's nothing here except the inflatables for children that you open in the evening on the seafront. MAYBE BECAUSE THERE'S BUSINESS THERE AT €6 PER HALF AN HOUR? However, I see some touchiness among the owners. Does NEGATIVE publicity hurt?!
