03/05/2025: I was pleasantly surprised by this place: the best brioche I've ever eaten, fragrant and filled just right. The soy cappuccino was creamy and well balanced, difficult to find such good ones around. All accompanied by a splendid lake view which makes the experience even more special.
I would also like to applaud the staff, who are kind, smiling and attentive: they make you feel truly welcome.
02/01/2025: Tuvimos un pequeño aperitivo y café aquí antes de hacer el camino Wayfayer a Bellano. El servicio era bueno y amable y está en una gran ubicación en frente del lago Varennas. Los pasteles que comimos eran sabrosos, pero fue decepcionado por el café decepcionante. Era un domingo por la tarde cuando visitamos y el menú era un poco limitado cuando visitamos. Con retrospectiva deberíamos haber tomado un jugo o algo así. No somos esnobs de café pero hemos tenido muchos una taza de Instant que era mejor que los que teníamos aquí.

08/05/2025: Impressively terrible food. Absolutely one of the worst decisions I made in Italy. Each dish was either terribly seasoned or not seasoned at all. I doubt the chef has ever tasted his masterpiece.

30/04/2025: On a trip from Milan to Varenna we had a pleasant lunch enjoying the flavors of the place. Shared mixed starter (more than enough for two), two very generous Borgovino tagliatelle (unique), two glasses of wine, water and coffee.
80 euros.
Flavors I'm not used to, but truly surprising. Large portions for the price and excellent, welcoming and friendly service.
18/04/2025: Delicious, freshly cooked food in homely atmosphere in a place of too many tourist restaurants. Authentic!

10/05/2025: The only place where you find any kind of spritz, i find the pink spritz only 6€ first time in my life 🥰 very refreshing nice test.
I hope to be back soon.
10/05/2025: A 25cm long stick to stir coffee in a paper cup even though you pay €1.50 for it.
If you don't ask for it, they won't give you a receipt!!

22/05/2025: I think it’s an old place on this location. Nowadays the cafe on Lido Oliviedo looks and feels completely different. My rating is for the new one.
Good coffee, pastries and gelato, friendly staff, stylish and calm atmosphere. Wonderful view. Great either for a sunny or stormy weather. Our go to place to wait a ferry or a train. I hope we will have a chance to explore the lunch menu too.
26/04/2025: The view is fantastic and everything is at an unbeatable price. We bought two Aperol Spitz and they brought us a free tapas platter.

09/05/2025: After waiting 15 minutes for one of the owners to cross the meter and a half that separated his counter from our table, we ordered 2 pasta dishes.... still not served 45 minutes later. We left without asking for our change... They openly mock the customers and simply take advantage of a tourist site... Too bad, 0 does not exist.. Avoid!!
03/05/2025: A place to avoid, a place that just catches tourists, rude staff who enjoy mocking and offending female tourists who don't understand Italian with chauvinist comments.... I won't go into specifics because I'm ashamed for them.
(I'm not talking about the food because it's useless.. I'm even ashamed to describe it)

Una delle peggiori esperienze mai vissute in un ristorante.
l’unica cosa “accogliente” è stato il silenzio glaciale all’ingresso. Nessuno che ti consideri, nessuno che ti accompagni al tavolo: sei solo. O quasi. Perché uno dei gestori si diverte a sparlare alle spalle dei clienti con toni derisori e poco graziati, credendo forse di essere invisibile. Triste spettacolo.
Il locale è sporco:, bicchieri con patine strane e precedenti aloni di labbra altrui, atmosfera trascurata. L’insalata marcia sembrava direttamente uscita da un bidone dell’umido. Il menage (olio, aceto, sale) impresentabile: bottiglie unte, olio travasato di dubbia provenienza, lontano anni luce da qualsiasi extravergine.
E poi il vino: annacquato, privo di sapore e dignità. Un affronto al palato e al buon senso.
In sintesi: qualità inesistente, ambiente sgradevole, comportamento del personale inaccettabile. Un’esperienza da evitare accuratamente; per citare le esatte parole di quando ci siamo alzati dal tavolo da chi era ad aspettare di prendere solo i soldi di quel pessimo cibo:
- ci leviamo dalle ........ molto volentieri. Con la speranza che presto possiate evitare di continuare a somministrare porcheria, un caro saluto.
Unfriendly staff, dirty glasses, and rotten salad served as if it were fresh. One of the staff members mocked customers behind their backs—completely unprofessional. The olive oil was suspicious, the wine watered down, and the overall quality was terrible. A truly disappointing experience.
24/03/2025: Świetne jedzenie. Polecam lasagne i makaron pene z pesto! Ku naszemu zaskoczeniu mocne drinki 😅 chętnie tam wrócę ponownie .

Hotel Olivedo Restaurant

24/04/2025: Tenemos una mesa afuera en este hotel frente al lago ocupado antes de embarcarnos en un ferry. Teníamos una focaccia de jamón y queso que era de 7 €. 50 , con un café con leche a 3 € . 50 . Servicio bueno en este restaurante frente al puerto debajo de un encantador hotel antiguo.

06/04/2025: ¡Hablaré de los ñoquis empanados y el risotto por el resto de mi vida! Comida increíble con una vista fantástica. El personal era eficiente y amable, y era muy servicial con sugerencias de vino.
No tuvimos que esperar mucho tiempo para una mesa y una vez sentados, no nos apresuramos en absoluto. ¡Un tiempo maravilloso!

22/03/2025: Vinimos rápidamente a tomar una copa mientras esperamos el tren. Ordenó un zumo de naranja fresco y capuchino y cobró 10. 50 euros. Tuvimos que tirar el capuchino ya que ni siquiera estaba caliente cuando lo conseguimos. El jugo de naranja estaba bien, pero era caro para lo que era en una pequeña taza de plástico sin tapa. Muy decepcionado. No recomendaría.
20/03/2025: Sconsigliato assolutamente!!
1 spritz Aperol annacquatissimo e 1 panino x la cifra di 15 euro.
Lo spritz non era accompagnato neanche da una patatine. Non wc ma devi usare quello della stazione in condizioni igieniche inaccettabili.
Posto per fregare i turisti.

Hotel Ristorante Monte Codeno

01/09/2024: Ci siamo stati oggi 1 Settembre mentre cercavamo un ristorante. Non esercita più attività di ristorazione, diversamente dalla descrizione su Tripadvisor e sul loro sito. Ho attribuito un solo punto perchè non aggiornare il sito fa perdere tempo prezioso e denota scarso rispetto per i clienti che li raggiungono invano.
