23/12/2025: I returned after years with my husband....I knew the management was different, but I didn't think the traditions were limited only to the menu.
Mixed fried fish, practically brown and tasted of heavy oil, not the Maghrebian ones...first of all, starting with the shape, they're marubini and not tortellini, but the flavor and filling are far from what someone like me, from Cremona, is used to eating them. Cured meats...and yes, they're not what you'd expect from a "home-grown" osteria.
The staff were very kind and very nice in every way, but L'Osteria del Mento was something else entirely.

15/02/2026: If you're looking for a restaurant, don't come here. It feels like home, but that's exactly what I was looking for. It's family-run. We shared a mixed cold cut with pickled vegetables. Everything was delicious, and you could tell it was either home-made or locally sourced.
Casoncelli pasta with butter and lasagna were both very good. I had a mixed salad with radicchio and lentils. The total cost for two was €40.00.
04/02/2026: The name reflects the atmosphere: simple yet welcoming, homey like the cuisine, good food at fair prices. Seats are limited, so reservations are recommended.

22/12/2025: The pork cheeks were fantastic, but everything else was a bit disappointing: the quality was adequate, but not at all traditional. The fact that we were the only table there left me with a lot of doubts. The quality-price ratio was not in line with expectations.

15/01/2026: Piadinas made with high-quality ingredients for all tastes. Excellent options, not your average piadina. Very nice place, friendly and very professional staff. The only drawback is the lack of bathrooms.

04/02/2026: Exceptionally good food, cooked fresh by lovely conversational owners. I got 'la rustica' which was popping with fresh flavour, and some excellent cheese. We came after a Cremonese match and this was one of the very few places still open, which we appreciated very much!

11/11/2025: Quick break, good tramezzino, wide selection, even panini. Good ingredients. Limited indoor space, just a few tables and stools... large outdoor area under the arcades.
Rough, serious service... we were there in a few minutes, mobbed by hungry students... thank goodness we were leaving... 😏
They don't have restrooms. 🧐

14/02/2026: We booked a table in the early afternoon. When we got there, we were told to sit next to the kids. The receptionist made you lose two customers. Goodbye, or I hope not.
19/01/2026: The sandwich was delicious, as were the spicy fries. We arrived half an hour before closing, and the manager greeted us and served us promptly. The price was reasonable, though it was a shame about the coffee. I'm still happy and satisfied, and I'll be back when I pass through Cremona again.
