10/12/2024: Unacceptable rudeness and arrogance: never again! I am writing this review sitting in another restaurant. Three weeks ago I made a reservation at the Mainardo restaurant in Merano for 4 people, accepting the 7pm shift rule without any problems, which required the table to be freed by 8.45pm. Last week I updated the reservation for 8 people: the girl on the phone, kind and helpful, assured me that there would be no problems, even if we arrived a few minutes late. This evening, after arriving from 300 km away, we show up punctually at 7.35pm. I send my wife and daughters ahead, along with a friend's wife and her daughters, while the friend and I park. A few minutes later we find them on the street, confused and mortified: they had just been rudely kicked out by the owner, an unpleasant and rude person, who claimed to have given the table away, treating them with arrogance and without any respect. I find this behavior scandalous and unacceptable. If you are unable to honor a reservation or treat customers politely, perhaps it would be better to close the restaurant or hand the management over to someone more competent. The owner, with her aggressive and disrespectful attitude, not only ruined the evening, but also demonstrated a total lack of professionalism. I deeply respect other people's work and this is probably one of the first negative reviews I've written in my life, but I can't ignore such a level of rudeness and arrogance. Mainardo? Never again!

06/12/2024: Very high quality/price ratio! Friendly service, with timely suggestions on food and drink to go with it. Fantastic spinach and cheese crescents, goat's cheese, honey and walnut pie that is truly worth it! Considering the prices in the area and the quality of the service offered, I put the Mainardo restaurant at the top of my recommendations!

10/10/2024: Getting cicchettis in the middle of Meran like in Venice is really great, we really liked it here even in rainy weather and in the middle of the hustle and bustle at the bus stop. Unfortunately, there was hardly any choice at lunchtime on Friday due to the flow of visitors from the market, but the operators can't help it.

14/12/2024: The service staff was friendly. The supoe was a bit bland and the pizza was good. Unfortunately they didn't ask us for dessert or offer us a cafe. Instead, they all had dinner together. We then paid and left.

25/08/2024: Aus Flucht vor dem Regen sind wir in diesem Restaurant gelandet. Wir haben gefühlt den letzten Tisch bekommen und was uns dann serviert wurde war hervorragend. Alle Speisen von aussergewöhnlicher Qualität und Geschmack, der eigene Wein ebenso sehr erlesen. Das Restaurant ist definitiv den Aufstieg wert! Bei schönem Wetter mit Aussicht wärs sicher noch besser geworden.

01/08/2024: The pizzeria has a classic atmosphere, but there are outdoor tables where it is pleasant to eat in the summer. The pizza is varied and good. The staff is very kind and helpful (I almost always arrive just before closing time but it has never happened that they didn't give me food)

26/10/2024: Top recommendation! We spent a week with Alexander and his family for the second time and felt really comfortable again. Great apartments, breathtaking views, right next to the forest with beautiful paths. We brought bacon from the farm again, yummy. We are already looking forward to the next time

19/10/2024: Very nice restaurant with delicious organic food. Top hospitality, very attentive and the whole family warm. The farm dog (Mimi) is playful. We are here with the van and are allowed to spend the night here. Anytime again 🫶 highly recommended.

02/11/2024: La mia amica ed io abbiamo bevuto per la prima volta un amaretto sour consigliato dal barista che è stato molto disponibile, paziente e professionale....ed era molto buono! Il locale è servito da personale giovane e sorridente e la musica in sottofondo è molto piacevole.

Tutti i piatti scelti etan buoni. Canederli, piatto tirolese, gulash e orzotto. Buoni anche i dolci. Personale simpatico e sempre pronto. Servizio abbastanza rapido.

However, the Trautmannsdorf restaurant has distinguished itself as one of the rare establishments that deserves a place of honor in our culinary list. In fact, it is now among the five best restaurants that we have had the opportunity to try during our numerous travels. During our lunch in August, in the heart of the heatwave, we were dazzled by the exceptional quality of each dish. True to our habit, we ordered almost the entire menu, and each dish was able to delight our taste buds with a perfect mastery of flavors and textures. Each bite was a true homage to local cuisine, executed with rare expertise. The service, for its part, was able to enhance this experience. Efficient, fast, always attentive and unparalleled in sympathy, he helped make this moment a memorable one. The setting of the restaurant is also worth highlighting: despite the oppressive summer heat, we were able to enjoy a pleasant and well-kept environment, which invites relaxation and discovery. In conclusion, the Trautmannsdorf restaurant is a must in the region, and probably one of the only ones truly worth the detour. Although we stayed at the magnificent Château Castel-Frasburg, whose restaurant performs honorably (especially the breakfast), Trautmannsdorf undoubtedly stands out as the best restaurant in the area. A place that we highly recommend to all epicureans looking for an authentic and refined gastronomic experience.
