27/08/2024: Very nice service, the waiter gave us comprehensive introduction to their menu before we ordered, which was really helpful to people who don’t understand Italian. The pasta was freshly made, and the texture was just perfect, you could taste the high quality of the pasta itself, the sauce was complementary to the pasta, and help bring out the taste it. Nice place to visit in Bolzano

23/12/2024: Ci siamo stati alla domenica mezzogiorno, locale piccolo ma molto accogliente e ben organizzato per sfruttare bene ogni angolo.( Noi eravamo 5 + un passeggino) Personale molto gentile e alla mano che ti fanno sentire a casa e non mettono fretta pur avendo avuto la fila fuori dalla porta per entrare. Abbiamo mangiato affettati e formaggi misti come antipasto ed erano ottimi, poi abbiamo mangiato piatti tipici ed erano veramente squisiti. Rapporto qualità prezzo e data anche la centralità del locale più che ottimo. Dovessimo tornare in zona ci ritorneremmo sicuramente!

15/12/2024: Ci siamo trovati a Bolzano per visitare il Mercatino di Natale e, nelle vicinanze, ci siamo imbattuti casualmente in questo piccolo ristorante. Ci siamo incuriositi (per il menù esposto all’esterno e per l’aspetto). Siamo stati fortunati. I piatti che abbiamo scelto si sono rivelati molto semplici, naturali, buoni, interessanti e gustosi. Il servizio, malgrado la grande affluenza, é stato rapito ed efficiente. I prezzi contenuti. Il locale ordinato e pulito. Siamo stati fortunati nella scelta ma, nel caso, ci ritorneremo sicuramente.

The staff is kind and friendly but not intrusive, the chef is humble and nice, every time I have dined here he has stopped by the tables at the end of the evening 🥰. The food is always a guarantee, with prices appropriate to the quality and portions that are absolutely not scarce. Attention to detail throughout. Promoted and re-passed with flying colours!

06/02/2025: Yesterday I went out to eat alone on my business trip and was really happy with my decision. The pizza was very good, the beer was excellent and on top of that I was looked after by a young lady who was not only very professional, but also entertained the whole restaurant excellently with her positive and funny manner! Complement. Your colleagues who took over your shift later were also very courteous and friendly. I really enjoyed the evening! Highly recommended!!!

It is also about paying attention to nature and respecting the environment, e.g. the traditions in the region. It is also about letting the guests participate in it by introducing them carefully, without the need for rules. That is an art these days. This is crowned by a lavishly laid table, without waste and excess, but with the special composition of the dishes and the selection of ingredients. You will find all of this at the Gasthof Kohlern. Authenticity among the people who work there. Respectful interaction, lightness and relaxedness as a natural coexistence - guest and host. Exciting stories, integrated into nature. You don't want to leave there and yet it may be precisely the leaving that makes you look forward to the specialness of coming back. And every year there is something new to discover, selected with great care and love. Thank you for being there, dear Gasthof Kohlern team.

13/01/2025: The hotel to relax and recharge your batteries. Josef and his crew are really special. The last time we were there was 10 years ago. Now it worked again and we booked a room including half board over the Christmas period (December 23rd - December 26th, 2024). I summarize the hotel services as follows: 1. Hotel The house has a 125-year-old history. Josef spared no expense or effort to modernize everything. A living room with an adjoining open fireplace (wonderful), a restaurant with a panoramic view of the mountains high above Bolzano, a top wellness department... The infinity pool and hot tub (open despite the cold and it was a show to be in there) A wine cellar, a seminar room (all very, very tastefully designed) 2. Massages A "must", the relaxing massage was a dream 3. Food & Service The absolutely highly professional kitchen surprised us every day with first-class dishes. We enjoyed every dish in the multi-stage episodes. The 4-6 courses were an explosion of enjoyment. It's really amazing what the kitchen does and the quality of the food that comes to the table. All, but absolutely all, of the service staff were professional, quick and absolutely friendly. Here I felt that the crew was behind Josef's concept. So it's really fun to be a guest 3rd room We had room number 6 on the 1st floor An ideal room for us with a balcony and the view over Bolzano was brilliant The cleaning was simply perfect... and we and our dog 🐶 "Oskar" felt really comfortable. Conclusion: The house was already great 10 years ago. Today Josef and his team have once again made a leap forward in terms of quality. I am personally pleased that there are still such first-class hotels with top-class cuisine and service. Celebrating Christmas with singing in the in-house chapel was something very special for us. We just say 'thank you' for this great time. This house made our Christmas 2024 perfect. We'll definitely be back💪

08/02/2025: Terrible customer service, to enter the smoking room we are told that without cigars, you cannot enter even with cigarettes, it has never been like this. A shame I won't go back again 👍

08/02/2025: New rule: you are forced to smoke cigars. The second room is now only accessible with a cigar. Anyone who doesn't smoke or only smokes cigarettes is no longer allowed in. This restricts guests unnecessarily and makes their stay less attractive. Very unfortunate.

17/01/2025: This rating is an average of two experiences made by Da Picchio. The first time was very positive, especially for the kindness and helpfulness of the staff who, even though it was a packed evening close to the Christmas holidays, worked hard to find a table for me and the two people with me. What we ate was appreciated although not memorable. Environment consistent with the term tavern but not particularly well looked after. When I returned a second time alone I did not find the same kindness and helpfulness. I was very sorry, but I can understand that not every day is the same.

02/12/2024: Came here a few months ago and had a delicious meal, one of the best we had in the region, the family that runs the place seemed very dedicated to their business and even drove us back to Bolzano because we missed the last bus, an all round great experience

19/12/2024: Dopo anni siamo tornati nel nostro locale preferito, cibo è sempre ottimo. purtroppo abbiamo notato che l’ambiente non è più tenuto bene, Per non parlare del servizio in quanto la signora Ondina dovrebbe imparare l’educazione, Il modo di comportarsi nei confronti dei clienti ci dispiace perché ci siamo trovati bene, È sempre stato familiare ma dopo l’ultima esperienza con il suo atteggiamento, abbiamo deciso di non tornare più, in quanto grazie alla sua maleducazione estrema penso che non saremo gli unici clienti che non si recheranno più all’osteria a mangiare, Grazie al titolare Marco che è sempre stato gentile e cortese..

30/01/2025: Very yummy pasta. Fixed menu without the menu. I recommend that you look around to see what other people are eating and order that way. Very little English but the restaurant people were kind and patient. I did love their cute paper placemats and napkins. We had the tortellini soup, pasta bolognese (no marinara), salad, espresso, cookie and tiramisu. It was yumm
