10/10/2025: Wauw this place is incredible. I love how the rooms are, very colorful! Also there is a big swimming pool and you are surrounded by the beautiful nature of Tuscany. The views are amazing. Very sweet people and good food! Would definitely recommend this place! Will come back next year!

30/10/2025: Truly Exceptional – Warm People, Beautiful Setting, and the Best Lasagna I’ve Ever Had
We had an absolutely wonderful meal at Ristorante Etruria in Volterra. From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us with genuine warmth and kindness. They immediately brought out a bowl of water for our French bulldog, Luigi, and treated him as if he were their own. It set the tone for what turned out to be one of the most memorable dining experiences we’ve had in Italy.
The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful inside – classic Tuscan charm with elegant stone arches, warm lighting, and tasteful décor that feels both refined and welcoming. You can tell it’s a place that takes pride in its history and hospitality.
I ordered the lasagna, and it was simply perfect — rich, delicate layers, full of flavor, and perfectly balanced. Honestly, it was as good as the best I’ve ever had anywhere in my life. My wife had the tagliatelle al ragù, and it was every bit a 10 out of 10 — silky fresh pasta, a sauce bursting with depth and authenticity.
The service was exceptional throughout — attentive without being intrusive, and filled with genuine smiles. What made it even more special was that the owner personally followed us out as we were leaving to thank us after we told him how much we loved the meal. That kind of heartfelt appreciation is rare and unforgettable.
Everything — from the food and wine to the atmosphere and hospitality — was pure Tuscany at its finest. If you find yourself in Volterra, do yourself a favor and make this your meal stop. You’ll leave full, happy, and feeling like family.

06/06/2025: Mein Lieblingsrestaurant seit 1981 - mit 5 war ich zum ersten Mal in der damals ganz neuen Trattoria, die sich im Laufe der Jahre zu einem hervorragenden Restaurant mit lokaler Küche entwickelt hat.
Es gibt keine „Spielereien“ sondern das pure Geschmackserlebnis aus besten lokalen Zutaten.
Und alles hält die wunderbare Irma zusammen. Der gute Geist und die umsichtige Chefin.

17/11/2025: Unfortunately, despite an excellent appetizer, a good dessert, and a decent wine, the first and second courses with truffles were very disappointing... When we pointed out that the truffle was completely tasteless, the owner told us, "What can you do? It's the end of the season." All this was said at the end of the meal, of course, not before we had made our choice, having paid full price, and it was also quite expensive. It's a shame it had all the makings of an excellent restaurant, but instead they opted to serve only tourists. I hope they change their policy; they certainly won't see us again!
09/11/2025: Delicious food; we highly recommend the meat with mushrooms and truffle. The woman who served us was absolutely lovely and made an effort to speak to us in Spanish. It's not very cheap, but it's well worth it.

09/11/2025: A nice little pizzeria. The service was friendly and quick. The pizza crust was crispy and the base thin, just as it should be ☺️. The toilet is a real gem 😅. We would definitely eat there again. What we really appreciated: Our dog was immediately given water without us even asking 🫶
01/11/2025: We only wanted a quick drink because of the rain, but when we saw the pizzas on the neighboring tables, we tried them ourselves.
We ordered 4 different pizzas, which were very tasty and juicy, which was not possible in other restaurants two days earlier.
The friendly waiter also offered us a typical appetizer, which we of course accepted and it was excellent.
If you want a quick, good pizza and a wonderful old-fashioned homely atmosphere, the inn is the right choice.

22/02/2026: After a day of walking through one of the medieval villages, in my opinion the most beautiful, Volterra, we stopped for dinner, and among the many places that Volterra offers, we chose, UN SACCO GOLOSO, with a traditional menu, the well-kept place, with tables also outside, but we preferred to eat inside, also given the temperature outside. We had gnocchi with mushrooms and truffle, pici cacio e pepe, and pappardelle with wild boar sauce, accompanied by fried potatoes and water. We ate the potatoes, while we waited for the first courses to be brought to us, the wait was not long, just the time to cook the pasta and bring it to the tables. Everything was very good, the scent of truffle in addition to the flavor was delicious, not to mention the pici cacio pepe, tasty and well peeled, and to finish the tagliatelle with wild boar sauce, all the plates were cleaned and mopped up with bread. Everything was very delicious.
16/12/2025: Excellent truffle pasta dishes, friendly waitress who spoke French to us, as did the owner, quiet location and breathtaking view just a few meters away. Absolutely nothing to complain about, everything was perfect! Grazie mille!

12/07/2025: I didn't really like the pizza, but I did like the rest... the meatballs and frese were delicious! 5 stars to the young waiter who arrived whatever I asked for in a flash! (For example, water for the dog or help warming the bottle!) The terrace was beautiful.

03/10/2025: Fantastic pizza! Worth a visit. I went back yesterday after six years. The pizza is still delicious. We also tried the carbonara, which was amazing. The house white wine was perfect. Very friendly service. When in Volterra, be sure to stop by for a bite to eat :)
03/09/2025: From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but once inside, it more than makes up for it. The pizza was very tasty, but the seafood spaghetti was worth a solid 10 stars. "Grandma" is a very good and flavorful cook. So, I'll go there again to try out the rest. I'm already looking forward to it.

05/03/2026: Bad, maybe a bad night... We weren't satisfied with the food. The first course was nothing special, well cooked but decidedly flavorless. The meat was bad, very bad, fatty cuts, flavorless, and overcooked.
The desserts followed the same progression as the other two courses.
21/01/2026: Unique location, below street level. Very good first and second courses (the duck ragù is better than the classic Tuscan ragù). Very friendly and helpful staff. You can also visit the 1st-century BC Roman cistern, which is inside the restaurant. Average Volterra prices: we took advantage of a discount with The Fork.

26/12/2025: We entered this place mainly because it had seating. It actually turned out to be a pleasant discovery: the hot ragù and lard sandwich, pecorino cheese, and amazing fig jam. Highly recommended, if you have to wait to be seated, it's worth the wait.
The staff is friendly and works at a fast pace.
