This trattoria is one of those places that makes you feel right at home: a welcoming atmosphere, a family atmosphere, and an attention to detail that's evident as soon as you enter. The staff is incredibly kind, always smiling and attentive, but a special mention goes to the owner: incredibly kind and helpful, capable of welcoming every guest with genuine warmth and making everyone feel truly welcome. The cuisine is simply exceptional, with authentic flavors and generous portions. Each course showcases tradition, but with a pleasantly surprising twist. Everything was perfect, accompanied by excellent wines expertly recommended. It's one of those places you'll want to return to and recommend without hesitation to friends and family. My compliments to the entire staff; we'll definitely be back!

21/02/2026: If you're passing through Manciano, definitely stop at Trattoria Il Rifugio! The atmosphere is welcoming and familiar, and you'll immediately feel at home. The risotto is simply amazing, and the pappardelle with wild boar are spectacular, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The cod is delicious. The welcome was top-notch, Ilaria was incredibly kind and attentive. The dessert.....exquisite! A place to definitely return to! 🍷✨

02/12/2025: We've eaten there several times, whenever our itinerary allowed, because the pasta is delicious—a special mention goes to the stuffed ravioli and the arrabbiata sauce. The desserts are a delight, and the service is perfect. Always with a smile. Quality/price ratio: 10/10

04/03/2026: We came here based on a recommendation. I ate the best pizza of my life here. I had a Pizza Ilosionista. It was topped with anchovies, onions, garlic, and caramelized tomatoes. They really play with the flavors here, and the result is fantastic. Simply incredible. For dessert, we had a Crema Catalana that was second to none. We'll definitely be back!

22/01/2026: As a pizza lover .. I can confidently say that I have never tasted a better pizza ! The crust was amazing! The mix and choice of ingredients was surreal ! We ate 3 pizzas between two people because it’s so light and so satisfying ! The desserts are to die for as well. All ingredients are carefully selected and organic from nearby fields. Highly recommended !!

16/02/2026: We stumbled upon this restaurant on the road while leaving Saturnia. It looks like a country house. We stopped in and were greeted, even without a reservation, with warmth and professionalism. The location is truly meticulously maintained, from the fireplace and stove to the furnishings and table setting. The cheese platter with three very unique sauces was truly remarkable. The bruschetta with lard and unsalted bread was generous and delicious. We continued with two wild boar-based first courses: a truly delicate tortello and excellent pici. The tiramisu for dessert was also delicious. Congratulations.

25/02/2026: I can only praise the restaurant! We ate wonderfully! The mixed crostini and the lard crostini were exquisite! The first courses and the wild boar stew were also very good. The staff was kind and helpful!

03/01/2026: On the recommendation of a friend, we went to dinner at this restaurant. Located in the Manciano area, it serves classic Tuscan cuisine. We ordered both the mixed platter and the wild boar platter, all of which were delicious, especially the wild boar salami. Pappardelle with wild boar ragù and maltagliati with Cinta Senese sauce were both delicious. I appreciated the generous amount of sauce and meat, which had a genuine flavor. The arugula and arugula shavings were also good, and the chocolate parfait was excellent. More than fair value for money. I'll gladly return.

05/10/2025: Agriristoro: A somewhat overused term in its genre... ... But at "il giardino" you'll find the true essence! The delightful hosts welcome you into their home and make you feel like a "family guest" from the moment you arrive. The place is beautiful, inside, out, and all around. The small outdoor garden and the little furry friends Piero and Gino complete the picture. The chef is truly brilliant: she offers daily diners a "fixed menu for THAT day ONLY," which the first person to call decides based on what's fresh on offer... You always land on your feet! Freshness and authenticity are the watchwords: from the garden vegetables in the appetizer to the Portuguese milk in the grandmother's dessert! Everything was so good that the photos didn't even reach the main courses (roasted suckling pig and fried mushrooms... By the way!!) and stopped at what were the best and most heartwarming homemade ravioli I've ever eaten. Everything was excellent, even down to the bitter taste. The price was very fair for the experience, and I'll see you next time!

23/08/2025: We stayed at Paola's agriturismo for six nights, a strategic location for visiting the Argentario, Maremma, and inland Tuscany. The property is run by Paola and her family, all wonderful and very welcoming! The rooms are clean and spacious, with a beautiful garden outside, and each room has its own outdoor table and chairs. You can also dine there; Paola asks you what you'd like in the morning and has it ready for you in the evening. We recommend the wild boar! It's truly a beautiful place, you'll feel right at home. Highly recommended!

16/12/2025: Considering you're in a unique part of Tuscany, full of stimuli and unique flavors, a restaurant with that kind of cuisine is an insult to the region. Bland dishes served at the temperature limit due to the countless elaborate dishes; the entrée is a waste of time. I won't dwell on the dishes and will simply say absolutely nothing. A woman in the kitchen who sits all evening allegorically recalling the cuisine of the past when there's absolutely nothing of the past. The staff is kind, with a thousand thoughtful touches, sometimes even cloying. Regarding the wines, when I asked a very simple question—"A local organic or biodynamic wine?"—three of them completely lost their minds. My only regret is that I drove 1.5 hours to get there. My last statement: stop looking for stars that have become obsolete; go to the fields and shops to seek out quality raw materials.

03/11/2025: The interior and furnishings are all tasteful, but the food here is probably the worst in Italy. The only edible food is bread and butter, and you can't try anything else! The kitchen hood is terrible, and all the smells spill into the dining room, which is also a big minus. I definitely won't be coming back. The price is astronomical 🤬🤬🤬
